One star deducted for each hole left in the wall. Waiting three weeks for a reply, but to no avail of anyone coming back. Not the quality of work I expect from any one really... The workers showed up each day kinda on time...not a huge sense of urgency. 125 for handyman to come and finish the job. read more

A bad fix and too much of a gap with the cabinet and somehow I am expected to pay to fix??? Perhaps the company is too busy and rushing through jobs rather than focusing on quality and completing jobs before they move on. Once they are the new....really really hard to get them to come back out once gone. Past reviews are good, but recent not so much and I am sorry I am still dealer ng with this. Issue. Mess ups happen, but own up to it. It was one thing after another and rather than finding a good way to work around it was a short cut or somehow placed on me for not knowing better.....you are the pros, not me. But bad service and bad work is bad no matter how you phrase it. I will cut my loses and stop wasting time. I guess it is true...if you want something done right, you have to do yourself....or at least not this team. read more

Top Tier Construction - A really big mismeasure by this company and I am in being sked to pay more to fix. - General Contractors Near Me - San Jose, California

We did an extensive remodel during the Covid, focusing on reconstructing all of our downstairs kitchen, living and family room. It was a huge overhaul. We were very happy to engage with Top Tier Construction who saw us through the entire remodel process from design and development phase to the demo and construction phase. Amir and his team were very professional in the entire process. He guided us each step of the way and always offers his expertise and ideas which were valuable. Amir was well organized and very attentive in managing the entire project for us from dealing with the subs, to coordinating with vendors and reminding us of timelines and keeping us updated of what will happen each week. We loved that he uses Smartsheet to track the entire project and costs with us. This made it super transparent for homeowners and also reduces the amount of miscommunication. As with every remodel project, we had to deal with the expected situations especially during Covid times but Amir always finds a solution for us and do his best to address any issue that comes our way. He is a great problem solver and even with additional scope added, he was able to help us finish the project in a very timely manner. We also lived in our home during the remodel. While it was difficult, Amir and team made every possible way to help us get through it. He made great remodel protection for our existing home and protected our home items but more importantly his crew worked around having us at the house and were very accommodating to how they are working when we were home. His subs do great quality work and the end product turned out amazing and we were glad we hired Top Tier for our project. Every neighbor and friend who came over to our place cannot stop raving about how great the house looks! The workmanship and attention to details can be seen in the work produced. Our family is very happy with the remodel and would like to thank Top Tier Construction for making our dream home come true. read more

Two is being nice. At first four weeks out. I get it. Summer time. Then it moved to six weeks out...then finally started at eight weeks. I guess they were behind and what was supposed to take almost two weeks to complete only took a week. Either they way over charged me or the work was blah. It was the latter. To finish a paint job, no primer and the only one coat....it is really light and not a good job. The foreman made sure to let me know he knows more than me...well, this is a bad job. No new reviews for almost a year....perhaps things have changed. read more

Top Tier Construction did a major kitchen remodel and renovation for me. The project included removing a wall, and integrating a new ceiling structure support beam in addition to new wood flooring, new walls, electric, tile, plumbing, windows, custom cabinets and appliances. We also added central air condition and recessed LED lights to the entire house. Amir and his team were on-time, on budget and communication through out the project was excellent. Unlike other contractors and construction companies, Amir and his team used "smart sheets" technology to manage the project. Smart sheets is a shared application that allowed all involved parties to sign off on and track all project details. It acted as the central management tool for project calendaring and daily progress reports, and it was updated every day. Accessible on a smart phone it was a major differentiator that allowed excellent communication for every aspect of the project. Amir's price was competitive with several other proposals I received. He and his teams communication was great, we stayed on time to the day, and there were no surprise costs or issues with the project. Extremely satisfied and would use him again. read more

We've worked with a lot of contractors on the good/bad spectrum during almost 30 years of home improvements, and Amir is one of the BEST! He does what he says he's going to do, when he commits to doing it, with excellent craftsmanship, responsive communication and attention to detail. We first contacted Amir to open the wall between our kitchen and dining rooms (not trivial due to support beams) and add recessed lighting when we were getting ready to sell our Los Gatos house. We were so pleased with Amir and his Top Tier team, that we decided to ask them to do 2 other projects we had been considering to enhance our home's value. Not only did Amir fit us into his busy schedule (he works LONG days), he was sensitive to our budget and proposed ways to maximize ROI for resale. I'm sure we'll get a higher price for our house when it sells thanks to Amir's work. In addition to being excellent at his craft, Amir is easy to work with and is very polite, professional, and helpful - he has earned our highest recommendations and respect! read more

Top Tier Construction - Amir & Top Tier Construction removed the wall between our kitchen and dining rooms to create an Open Concept flow. - General Contractors Near Me - San Jose, California

I was apprehensive to start my large home rebuild after hearing the horror stories my friends told me after their remodel. I told Amir upfront my concerns and he put me at ease advising that he would provide us top notch service as he worked with us through our home remodel. There were some issues with permits, drawings not to scale, working through a new engineer but he and his team pulled through and we were extremely pleased with the end results. The attention to detail he brought to the job is seen through his workmanship down to the pattern of the nails and nail heads to be in line with our contemporary design. He always left the job site tidy and put his sub's to high standards even though we couldn't even tell. Even after the job completion and after moving in more than a year ago Amir and Andy are still available for us should we ever need it. We recommended them to our friends and they were satisfied with their results as well. I would definitely recommend them to anyone (and do) and would call them again if I went through this a second time! read more

I had previously posted a great review but it appears the Yelp Big Brother is watching and didn't like my wording, so I will do this again. Amir and Top Tier Construction did a fantastic job with getting my house fixed and repaired in 2012. I initially hired him to install a whole house fan, and after seeing how detail oriented he was and the quality of his work, I decided to hire him for another job and it just kept going from there. He was able to do various repairs within my house, as well as install a brand new redwood fence, do all the woodwork replacement and repairs for my house exterior before it was painted, as well as so many other things I can't remember. Also, if there is something that he does not do directly, he has some top notch plumbing\electrical\painting folks that he partners with to make sure the job is done right The whole time he maintained a high level of professional service and always gave a detailed summary of work after each job. I would highly recommend his company for anybody looking for a quality contractor and a high level of customer service! read more

Amir and his band of top-notch subs rebuilt our master bathroom area and we couldn't be more pleased. We needed to remove reach-in closets, add walls, change plumbing, add a soaking tub, add a sun tunnel, patch up a window, and fix unpermitted shoddy repair work from before we bought the house to create a walk-in closets, a water closet, and a huge shower. Amir took the initiative to have his architect draw up his ideas for the project for us before we even agreed to have him do the job. His keen design sense and his eye for detail that we appreciate were invaluable in getting the design right and the bathroom to look absolutely fantastic. He was creative with his solutions, insightful with his opinions, and invaluable as a guide for this project. Amir and his crew kept our house spotless throughout the job. He's respectful, courteous, and sociable, but he respects our time and keeps on topic in our discussions and doesn't get distracted into irrelevant details or side stories. He would come at any hour of the day working around our schedule for late night meetings. We wondered whether he had just given up on sleep. Amir did his best to ensure that any problems or issues that came up in the project did not cause us much tension as he just took care of them as they came up which was a relief. He handled the architect, the change orders with his subs, and obtaining the permits and everything passed on the first attempt easily. He takes great and justifiable pride in his work and it shows. Unlike many other contractors we've dealt with, Amir puts meticulous detail into specifying his proposal upfront so you know exactly what you're paying for. Take the time to be clear on that proposal for what you want or you'll find yourself adding new costs because you expected one thing while the proposal clearly stated another. This thankfully didn't happen much for us, but we had several change orders and additional repair costs throughout our project which Amir did his best to keep fair at least. We highly recommend Amir and intend to have him work on our next renovation as well. read more

We purchased our house in April 2012 and it was turnkey with the exception of a few minor projects. After getting 3 bids on the 1st project (demo of a separation wall in the garage), TTC came in at what we were expecting to spend and after researching an average cost of that type of project in our area, they were on point and hired. We have had Amir and Top Tier Construction do all of our home improvements since, which included anything from rehanging/painting/fixing doors to a last minute bathroom gut/remodel due to a leaky pipe. He is super detail oriented and takes much pride in his work and his company. He is also easy to talk to and will take time to explain a process if you have questions. He uses people who he trusts and holds to his standards as well. We have had not just him but his assistant, plumber, carpet guy, painter, and dry-waller who have all been respectful and their work has been done properly and promptly; Amir always reviews his subs' work before he gives it the OK. He also walks you through the work that has been done and makes sure you don't have any questions or concerns; but if you do, he is professional and addresses them right away. Not only is his work flawless, but his prices are very fair and you can see his work ethics in the finished product. Even when he is really booked solid, he seems to find time to do a project so you don't have to wait months on end. We have referred him to many of our friends who are homeowners . Highly recommended to the Yelp community. read more

Amir deserves every star and more. My husband hired Amir for a project last summer, and even though it was a small job, Amir treated it as if it was his only job. He his work was excellent and my husband was so impressed, we kept his contact info with larger projects in mind. This summer we decided to tackle our kitchen remodel and Amir was the first person we called. We shouldn't even have bothered getting other bids, we knew we wanted Amir to do the kitchen and his bid was competitive as well. The whole thing took a month and we love Amir's work even more now than before. He's honest, trustworthy, meticulous and does terrific work. The same goes for everyone on his crew. We'll be customers of his for life. read more

Not sure what to say about this company. The first interactions were fine. However, follow through was less than stellar. There were multiple delays - something always coming up on "another job". I get you want to get as much business as possible, but when you continually put my plans and my time second...I feel a little discouraged. Not all the same people came back each time - I feel as though there is a fair amount of hired / contract workers as they generally did not take direction from the person that would show-up from time to time on the job. I feel as though the person who I spoke with at the beginning set a lot of expectations and then had little to do with the execution...it was not made real clear that he (or actual employees) would not be doing the most of the work. I have another project coming up in my bathroom...I will not be using the same contractor as I am not sure who is actually going to be doing the work and I do not want to keep having delays. read more

First, I am a renter, so I don't know all the details on his pricing, but what I do know was that our quote was a great price compared to what other contractors were initially quoting. But it's not about getting the cheapest job done, it's about quality, and Amir and his crew are the best! I had two bathroom remodels, one bathroom was so bad that we had to completely scrap everything, and Amir was very thorough in explaining what was going on, what needed to be done, what was the best, and the most cost effective way of fixing problems that couldn't have been forseened. It was a big project, and I couldn't have been more happy that it was Amir there everyday, he made me feel comfortable and not invaded by construction. He is very polite, professional and detail oriented. For me the little things count, and Amir was on top of everything, he would call to confirm meeting times, call when he was on his way to meetings with us, and through the whole process, his communication with my family and the homeowner was great. He also cleaned up all the construction areas after each day. The big things matter too, and the overall final project is beautiful! Both bathrooms look amazing, it was all so worth it! We just had a party at the house, after the bathrooms were completed, and received raving reviews on the bathrooms. I have no problem recommending Amir and Top Tier Construction. In fact, we will be seeing him again for some other projects that he is going to do for our house; I just can't give this company enough praise, I'm a fan!!!! read more

My husband and I bought our home in San Jose, CA last year. Our house has great bones, but is in need of a number of updates, which we've been fortunate enough to have Amir and Top Tier Construction complete for us. It's hard to write about our experiences with Amir without gushing because we are that delighted with our interactions with him and with the quality of his work. Amir is incredibly kind, respectful, thorough, and detail oriented. He's done a number of projects for us including installing recessed lighting with zoned dimmer switches, installing new doors throughout our home on the existing frames, framing and finishing bedroom closets, adding electrical outlets and gutting and remodeling our hallway bathroom. The largest project, our hallway bathroom, not only began and ended exactly on schedule, but was completed with an attention to detail we couldn't be happier with. Amir took great care in every step of the process, as did the plumbers and tile installer he worked with, and together turned an ugly, outdated bathroom into a room we enjoy. Baths never felt so relaxing! Everything is stunning and I smile every time I walk down the wall and peek in at our gorgeous bathroom. If you want a great guy who does incredible work, you want Amir and Top Tier Construction on your job. read more

Our experience with Amir and his team at Top Tier Construction was the best we've ever had with any home improvements! From the initial contact to the finished product, Amir was friendly, professional, well spoken, and hard working. His rates were excellent and the work was above and beyond our expectations. They respected our time and budget and kept their work area clean and organized throughout the entire project. We had two bathrooms remodeled and the end result was exactly what we envisioned. Thanks to Amir's expertise and suggestions, we even changed our flooring plan and now it's our favorite part of both bathrooms. The work done by the Top Tier team was beautiful and completed exactly on time (even when a few changes came up). Amir showed up on the job every single day on time and worked until the project was complete. His attention to detail was excellent. We will recommend Top Tier to anyone who needs work done in their home....5 starts for sure! read more

If you are looking for a reliable, detail oriented project manager for your home construction project, talk to Top Tier! We were nervous about starting our whole house remodel but after our friends referred Top Tier to us and we saw their high quality workmanship, we decided to reach out to them. When we met Amir and Andy, it was clear they were true professionals, knowledgeable and passionate about their work. We felt confident we would be in good hands. In addition to providing a high level of service, we were impressed with Top Tier's project management and communication tools - it brought us great peace of mind to able to see our project plan online and know what was going on each day. Amir and Andy run a tight ship with their sub-contractors, they were onsite every day overseeing the work and making sure subs showed up when they were supposed to and adhered to their high standards on the job site. With Top Tier's excellent planning and logistics management, we didn't have any delays with products being on back order or not being delivered on time. Despite our large number of change orders and a couple unforeseen hiccups, Top Tier was able to complete our project on time, which is unheard of. We feel very fortunate to have worked with Top Tier on our remodel - we couldn't have asked for a better experience and we are extremely happy with the end result. It's been a year since we moved back into our new house and we still keep in touch with Amir and Andy. It's reassuring to know we can still call on them should any issues arise. We highly recommend Top Tier! read more

Top Tier Construction did two small projects on my home. They did good work at a good price (the lowest, by a little, of three bids), and were always polite and professional. My basement retaining wall (not the perimeter wall) had severe spalling. Top Tier scraped away all the loose concrete, then filled with new mortar and coated the surface with a rubberized sealant to prevent more water from seeping out. (Apparently water seepage causes spalling.) There turned out to be much more loose concrete than they'd initially expected, so that filling the voids took many, many thin coats of mortar. The work took them an extra day, but they stayed within their bid and even patched a couple of small cracks on my garage floor without charge. They finished the job in just a few days--no delays. The other project was to build three new screens for the crawlspace. They made the screen frames very attractive and built them out of high-quality redwood. read more

I was referred to Top Tier Construction by a friend from work. My friend had a bathroom remodel done by them and it came out kick assl! I saw the work and was impressed with Top Tier's attention to detail. the his and her sinks was perfect. I only needed 3 windows to be replaced and the quotes i recieved were rediculous. When I called they sent a guy out THE SAME DAY... Amir showed up at my house on time and with a great attitude. He was very knowledgeable and educated me about many things I didn't know about windows and overall energy efficiency. He was very respectful of me and my "non-perfect" condo. I told him what I wanted done and he helped guide me through with ideas and prices. im not a rich guy and his prices were 30% cheaper. i had reserves because it was so reasonable. When Amir gave me my quote he was very detailed with all the work that was included, not included, possible liability issues, and other aspects of the job that I forgot to think of but he didn't. Compared to two other quotes I previously got his price was very fair. I agreed to the price and he started the job when he said he would. Amir and his team were punctual and careful not to damage any thing. They laid down drop clothes, executed the work better than I had imagined, and they even finished earlier than their scheduled completion date. im a clean freak... it was perfect... didnt even have to ask him to take his shoes off in the house. Even with all the different types of work being done Top Tier still left my condo cleaner than I did! Amir was very cautious and thorough throughout the whole experience and left me with no surprises or extra charges in the end, which in my past experiences were always an issue. I was very impressed with his level of craftsmanship and professionalism and would highly recommend Top Tier Construction to any person that wants an honest, reliable, and responsible contractor or any type of construction needs. Im very pleased with the pricing and work and im proud to say my home is ready for home and garden :) read more

I hired Amir to build a fence enclosure around my noisy pool pump, then install some special sound dampening material from Acoustiblok. Even though this project was probably on the low-end of what he'd normally accept, he was super responsive during the scoping out of the project and during actual construction. There were a few challenges during construction, including being extra careful not to cut any gas/water pipes. We only had one surprise, that was the Acoustiblok installation that he originally quoted for install was a bit more work than expected, and required some genuine custom work being done. He did it all, and charged a very reasonable rate. All in, I would definitely hire Amir and his team again, and I plan on calling him when we re-do our kitchen next year. read more

Top Tier Construction, run by Amir, has been the most consistent and the best contractor my family has ever used. We own several properties, and have spent a great deal of time looking for help from many different contractors, but we were often disappointed by their lack of communication or consistency. However, when we began using Top Tier, all of that changed. Amir is great at communicating, and always keeps us fully informed of his progress; he always shows up on time; he always gets the job on time -- and is even willing to work late into the night in order to meet a deadline. He has remodeled our garage, and in doing so had to completely remove and replace antiquated electrical wiring. Amir can do it all, and he does a fantastic job of explaining what he is doing so that we understand his price. That really helped when we remodeled the garage because we thought it was as simple as nailing up some sheet rock. Amir explained the poor state of the old electrical wiring, and explained our options for fixing it, including the benefits of modernizing. He knew we didnt have a ton to spend, so he worked with us on every detail to make sure we could get the garage we wanted at a price we can afford -- kind of like having a personal construction consultant. With complete confidence, I would -- and have -- recommended Top Tier to my friends, my family, and even employer! read more

Had a really great experience with Amir. He's professional, courteous, works quickly and is knowledgeable in all sorts of areas. After the great paint and wood repair job Amir did for us last year, we asked him to redo our 1970s kitchen during the April week we would be away. He made it happen very successfully. He ripped out the old cabinets, found and replaced old water-damaged studs, and installed beautifully finished cherry wood cabinets (shaker-style doors) with soft-closing doors. Our only jobs were to pick out the quartz counter top and back-splash tiles. His tile man did a beautifully detailed finishing job the following week. Ask Amir to see photos. I was sad to say good-bye to the kitchen a few weeks later when we sold the house in June. read more

After getting bids from about 7 other contractors to remodel our bathroom, I held off making a decision until getting a bid from Amir after reading his yelp reviews. We decided to go with him, and he did not disappoint! From the get-go, he was extremely professional. There was follow through on each and every aspect of the project. He was always prompt and he and his crew left the project area immaculate. The thing that impressed me most about Amir though, was the pride he had in his workmanship. Having something "up to code" was not good enough. He always went above and beyond. I would use him again in a heartbeat. read more

Amir, and his crew, did our bathroom remodel. It's absolutely beautiful. Amir is one in a million! He has great integrity, not only as a contractor, but also as a great human being. My husband and I were so impressed with the quality and conscientiousness of this man, and of all his crew. Amir goes out of his way to do the job right. No cutting corners, everything is finished beautifully. He spent an entire day with us picking out tile, trims, doors, faucets, etc.; not many contractors would do that. Picking a contractor is a scary proposition for any homeowner, but you don't have to worry about a thing with Top Tier, and that's why I'm writing this for people who are considering having work done in their homes. Amir's pricing is reasonable and fair, his work is beautiful, he keeps to the schedule, and he is totally trustworthy....what more could you ask for? read more

After getting the run around from other general contractors in the area, I contacted Amir, owner of Top Tier Construction, after reading the wonderful Yelp reviews. I was immediately impressed with his professionalism and responsiveness. What I've found to be a rare trait in the general contractor business, Amir is a man that can be trusted with his words. He does what he says he will do and delivers on what he promises. We hired Amir for a relatively small project in our home and hired his company for other projects as we were extremely happy with his work quality, follow up and work ethic. On top of being an excellent business person, Amir (as well as members of his crew) is just such a pleasure to deal with. Home improvement projects are a headache in itself, but Amir and his team has made the process so much easier and enjoyable. We now have a 'complete' home in the vision we created and we couldn't be happier that we hired Top Tier Construction to help us create our perfect home. read more

We just finished up our top to bottom kitchen remodel with Amir and Top Tier Construction. I don't think we could be happier with the process as well as the results. Being first-time remodelers, it was good to have Amir help guide us through the process. His knowledge, experience and surprisingly good eye for design issues were extremely helpful. He stayed very close to the estimated price and completely on time, which avoided two of the most common remodel horror stories. All the work done by Amir as well as his subs (thanks Richard and Andy), was impeccable. Amir's attention to detail showed in the finished product. Our house was kept clean, they all showed up when they were supposed to, and were very respectful of the fact that we were still living in the house during construction. We liked the fact that Amir was directly involved in the planning and the actual work, so nothing was lost in translation. Amir has asked to be able to use pictures of our finished kitchen on his website, so if you see them, I think you will agree that is was a "Top Tier" job read more
