Came here on Black Friday during lunch time and luckily it wasn't busy for a table of 2, so we were seated immediately. Inside there are lots of tables and space. Food was actually really good! For the broth, we got half spicy and half pork broth. The Spicy broth was spicy, so beware! Meat was thick and good quality. The portions were perfect. Service was quick and easy. You choose what you want on a paper and give it to the server. The food came out within 10 mins. There's a bar of extra food like fried rice, chow mein, Mongolian beef and other Chinese foods. They were all really good. Also, there's a sauce bar. Try the house sauce. It was my fav. Giving this place 4 stars because of the price. It's pretty expensive for hotpot. About $36 per person on the weekend, +$5 for double broth, and an automatic 20% tip. It came out to be around $100 for two people which is the most we ever paid for hotpot. It's crazy how they can charge tip for less than 6 people. What if the service sucked?! I sure as hell wouldn't want to pay the tip! 20% is really generous too. We drive from San Jose to eat here at least twice or four times in a month and I'd say it's definitely worth the drive, especially during the winter time and when there's cold weather because who doesn't like to eat soup when it's cold. Am I right? For all you first timers, here's what to expect! There are two entrances to the restaurant. They'll seat you regardless of what side you walk in from. Once seated, you'll receive a laminated menu with a dry erase marker. You'll mark off the type of broth you want, meat, vegetables, sides and drinks. This is how they'll take your order. There is also a sauce bar to make your dipping sauces and a small section of hot and cold appetizers. Once you start to receive your food don't worry about not having enough space on the table, they have small side tables that they place your meats and sides on so it doesn't crowd your table top! There are also 3 different appetizers you can order on the menu. There are beef skewers, lamb skewers & Peking duck wraps. They are all worth a try! They are absolutely delicious! The restaurant is spacious. Music is just at the right volume. Loud enough to hear and jam to if anything and low enough to still have conversations with the people you're dining with. Just to note with all the steam coming from the stove tops on the tables, their fans do make the place a tad bit cold. So just a heads up and don't forget a jacket! 10/10 for everything. This place is great! I have gone to this hot pot location a couple time now and it's amazing every time. The meat quality is on par with premium meats you would find anywhere else. They have a wide variety of choices including prepared food such as kebabs and honey walnut shrimp as well as cold foods and fresh fruit. This place has a good variety of meats, veggies, and other stuff such as tofu and fish balls. They also have a wide variety when it comes to the sauce bar which is always nice. All the times I've come here I've never had an issue with anything which is always nice. The food was nice, the broths we had were all tasty. The dipping food was pretty good quality and the sauces were all fine. The problems were:1. The service was frankly a mess. Our waiter only came back to our table after he took our check-list menu when we flagged him down to tell him we didn't get everything we ordered. A different waiter then brought one item out, it was the wrong item, and we never saw our original waiter again. We never got everything we ordered and they never gave us a new check-list menu so it didn't really feel like "all you can eat". The next time we spoke with staff was when I had to flag down another waiter to bring us the check. The ambiance was also pretty spartan. Not hideous or anything, but not very romantic. Came here on Thursday evening about an hour from closing and there was no wait. It is AYCE for 29.99 which is a decent price. There is a good variety of food and a sauce bar. Service was very attentive and we never felt rushed. We chose the ma la soup base and when it came I was wondering if they brought out the right one because it did not have any of the spices, but it was right. At first I wasn't sure about the soup base, but while eating it, I definitely liked it that spices were not stuck on the food. The soup base has really good flavor, but not super spicy, which is fine because you can make your dipping sauce with more peppers. We ordered a bunch of stuff, spicy marinated beef, angus beef, fish balls, dumplings, udon, fish, corn, spinach, napa cabbage, beef tendon, soft tofu, quail eggs, tripe, and potato noodles. Everything is really good. Absolutely love the beef tendon - make sure to put it in the beginning so it has time to soften, spicy marinated beef and angus beef were both great. The dumplings had really good seasoning and was very smooth. The corn was really sweet and crunchy. Overall a great place to go and they open later than the other restaurants in the area. Reading the positive reviews here, I went in with good expectations. However, it ended up being the opposite. We were a party of 5 and went during dinner time. We were seated at a round table, an older lady came by with a menu and quickly left. The whole time we were there we had to constantly hunt down someone who can take our order or answer any questions we had. I get being busy, but the service was ridiculous. Between our first round and the second round, they had to refill our broth base TWICE because nobody came back to take our order and we had to find someone. By that time, we quickly lost our appetite in between. The food is okay, nothing note worthy. The hot food bar was limited to the basics: chowmein, fried rice, walnut shrimp, etc. The chowmein noodles were cold. We got miso as our base and it was decent. The cut meat was okay as well. To top it off, they add an automatic tip that you can't choose. They charged us the weekend price even though we went on a weekday. The place is too expensive for the poor service and food you get. We decided to eat here cause we didn't want to wait an hour for the other hot pot in this plaza. This restuarant was not that busy and we were seated right away. We had the miso base and pork bone broth. Ordered lamb, beef brisket, garlic beef, spicy beef, and pork belly. The miso soup was good but the pork bone broth didn't taste like anything. The beef brisket was chewy and at times hard to chew and I had to spit some out on a napkin a few times, the spicey beef had no flavor, was just peppery, and the garlic beef also had no flavor and the texture was weird, chewy and soft. Service was ok, had to flag down our server for our rice which was not a great calrose rice. I really wish I can say I enjoyed my meal. I didn't... My husband and I are waiting for this place to open and we see a couple men cleaning the restaurant which is totally normal! Then we saw one man with glasses walking that dog while smoking a cigarette walk into the restaurant with the dog and the dog was just going in and out of the restaurant. I have been curious about this place since it opened. My usual go to is Mumu, which is in the same plaza, but I decided to give this place a try. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with almost everything :( The spicy soup base lacked flavor, it was just their regular bland base with some chili oil. My boyfriend ended up getting some sauces from the sauce bar and added to the soup to kind of give it a boost. The pork belly was actually not bad so I ordered it twice. The sauce bar had the normal selections, however I am a sesame sauce base type of person and they did not offer that! I thought it was a main staple but I guess not. No ponzu sauce either. There were some side dishes that were offered like noodles, sesame balls, and popcorn chicken. It was placed on these platters that were suppose to keep them warm but it wasn't on so the food was cold. On the weekends it is AYCE, $35.99. Overall, We won't be coming back and I don't have to keep wondering about this place. The 2 stars were for the ladies who served us. Super sweet and rushed to us when ever we needed something.
