I really appreciated Russ's professionalism and great customer service. He responded quickly, investigated and diagnosed 2 issues. Unfortunately, one of the issues required services that he currently does not provide. Rather than do half the work, he advised us it would likely be more cost effective to contact another plumber to address both issues. And he didn't even charge us for the service call. read more

Russ is outstanding to work with. We've used him for all our plumbing and gas related issues. He even provided feedback and guidance based on a video I sent him regarding a gas leak. You can't go wrong with Top Hat. read more

My Moen sensor went off signaling that i had a leak under my sink in the hallway bathroom, I turned the water off and began looking for a plumber who could come out and address this issue, i called Top Hat Plumbing in Morgan Hill and was surprised to get an appointment for a tech to come out and assess the leak that afternoon. The issue was quickly diagnosed and fixed that day, a defective gasket was the issue causing the leak. I was impressed with the level of service I received. I would recommend this company as they did not try to overcharge me for items I did not need. They were honest and showed me exactly why the leak occurred. read more

I don't know how I haven't left a review yet. I've been using top hat plumbing whenever we need a plumber since we moved to MH in 2018. He's the best. Tidy. Knowledgeable. Honest. Quick to respond to calls, texts, messages. I think his hourly rate is fair for his level of skill. I refuse to use anyone else. I know he's not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for! I'd rather get the job done right the first time. read more

Russ was cool from the get go. Stopped by as requested and diligently got to looking at our issues. We worked out a trade and he went to work not a moment later. Our faucets and toilets work like they're supposed to and there's no more yelling or calling these things a piece of $hit any longer... hopefully he thinks the same of his dents and rock chips. read more

I give Russ from Top Hat Plumbing a Top Rating! Russ was here to fix something a couple years ago, and I remembered he did great, so I called this time again when we needed a professional. He was great again! Experienced, knows his stuff, explains clearly the problem and the steps to fix it. Timely and organized. Up front about cost, and sticks to his estimates. Thanks again, Russ! We'll be calling again next time we need a professional. read more

Russ did an awesome job fixing a leak in our ceiling coming from the upstairs bathroom. He was very professional, on time and able to fix our leak in the same visit as providing us a quote. Would definitely recommend his work. read more

We had to move our toilet approximately 6 inches on a concrete floor. Russ provided a timely quote for this difficult job, was communicative during the work (as it took several visits due to having to jackhammer concrete), and delivered a quality job. I would use Russ again! read more

Top Hat Plumbing is the best. Russ came out to install a new water heater (along with a couple of other small projects). The quality of work is top notch. read more

I called last week and I spoke with Russ; we made an appointment for yesterday 2-4pm for someone to come to our home and give us a quote. Not only that no one showed up or called to cancel, but although I called and left a message, no one returned my call. What kind of customer service is this?! Very disappointed. I changed the number of stars from 1 to 4; Russ came next day apologizing over and over and recognizing that he discovered some voicemail issues which he will fix. He gave us a quote, quite High, which made us postpone the project for a while. Based on our interaction he seems like a solid professional which knows what he is supposed to do. Good luck Russ. read more

Quality reasonable service. I highly recommend. Russ doesn't unnesceraily upsell and provides the service that you requested without surprise additional fees at the end. read more

Best plumber in Morgan Hill. We had a bunch of work done including new sinks, faucets, piping, regulator, installed water softener, and more. High quality work, reasonably priced, great communicator, and very knowledgeable and honest. read more

We lost cold water pressure on 2 sinks in the kitchen. Top Hat Plumbing was able to reverse pressurize our lines and we had cold water pressure back quickly. Very reasonably priced and extremely personable. Highly recommend. read more

I needed my oven and sink disconnected to install countertops and explained I need him to come back in a week or do to reconnect he told me over the phone what it would cost and what that entailed. He also explained why the reconnect might cost more. He came in a timely manner, did what I asked him to do, found a very slow leak and explained what it would cost to fix before doing anything. I found him to be straight forward, professional, not inexpensive but reasonable and fair. I really like how he made efforts to save me money and explain everything so I could understand it. read more

We've used Russ at Top Hat plumbing for all our critical plumbing needs. He provides excellence in customer service, stands behind his work and does it all with a kind attitude and an attention to detail. If you're in the South County, give him a call. read more

A solid 5 star experience. Phone calls answered promptly, appointment was made to handle my leaky emergency right away. Situation was handled in a professional manner, and the price was appropriate. I hope I don't need his services again, but if I do he'll be the first call. read more

Had a great experience with Top Hat Plumbing today! Russ arrived and assessed my long list of miscellaneous repairs that needed attention. My list included such things as a clog, installing faucets and a sink, fixing leaking outdoor faucets and water heater, and taking care of a problem toilet and shower (I am not known for taking care of things right away :)). He gave me a fair price ahead of time and knocked it all out in an efficient manner. Thanks Top Hat!! read more

An area plumber referred me to Russ for a glitchy pilot light in my GE water heater...this after I tinkered with it for some time. After leaving him a message, Russ returned my call a few hours later. He accurately diagnosed the problem over the phone, and confirmed it within minutes of showing up at my house. I was especially impressed by his empathy. Clearly, he was booked for the day, but managed to fix my problem within two hours--this because he knew how unpleasant life can be taking cold showers. Russ was professional, personable and quick. What a pleasant experience. Top Hat can't guarantee same-day service every time, but the skill and heart this company brings to bear is quite admirable. read more

I had a great experience with top hat plumbing. I had a pressure reducer that was no longer reducing pressure, so I called some local places for estimates. Some competitors bids were outrageous for a small job such as this, but the estimate from top hat was what I would consider the fair amount for a job of this size, and also and half of the other guys. The job is completed, and now my water pressure is back to sane levels without any leaks. He also installed the new one with unions so I could change it myself in the future without having to call another plumber, which is a nice touch. Would definitely recommend. read more

Russ installed a Pentair Fleck 5600 SXT water softening system for me in my garage (new construction home). He also set up a custom harnessing system to keep my tank secured. He was on time, communicative, efficient, and installed the system with great attention to detail and quality. He cleaned up and was easy to work with. I was very satisfied with Russ's service and will be using him again for some other plumbing projects that I have planned. read more

Will definitely use Russ again for any plumbing issues. He was running a bit behind the day he came but called and I was running behind too so it was perfect. My home had been having ridiculous amounts of hard water deposits clogging up my fixtures and damaging faucets and several appliances. I have a water softener, a whole house filter, and the water heater was still new. Russ determined that my recirculating pump was causing what would be normal hard water particulate to bounce around and get sent to my fixtures. He also realized that the valve I should be using to flush my water heater did not have the correct valve, so previous flush attempts did nothing. He quickly replaced the crazy valve and taught me how to flush the water heater. The ginormous balls of hard water that came out were just wild. It looked like giant cat litter pieces. We are now on a regular flush schedule and the recirculating pump is on a timer. Things are much better now. I can't remember exactly what I paid but I know it was extremely reasonable and he will be my first call for any plumbing needs. read more

I had major problems with another plumber who repaired my water heater. Russ evaluated the problem, checked for warranty information and recommended that PG&E come out to check line pressure because of the way the burner was acting. PG&E ultimately issued a hazard warning for the old heater and capped it off. I ended up replacing the old water heater to be safe. Because of the shoddy repair job done before I didn't feel comfortable throwing more money at it. Because the other company had replaced parts that were not, as they indicated, required by code, Russ directed me to the Ca State contractors license board for direction in case I wanted to file a complaint - which I ended up doing. He even offered to come back later to haul the old heater away so I could keep it for awhile in case it was needed for inspection! He kept his word! Can't say enough about his professionalism and work ethics. Particularly like that he charges by the job not by the hour. read more

Professional and quick turn around. Russ called me back and clearly communicated throughout our experience. He fixed out shower, which was only releasing cold water at the time. Great experience, we will use him again when needed. read more

Russ provided an accurate assessment and quote for the replacement of part of our main water line, a main shut off valve and the required city mandated flow valve. Russ was on time, courteous, professional, and proficient, completing a task of removing very old units, resulting in a very complete, near, new system at a reasonable price. I highly recommend Top Hat Plumbing! read more

Had to call 2 days in a row, but not a big deal. People get busy, I totally get it. Once Russ called me back, we made an appointment for the same day. Russ and Logan did a great job clearing my stopped up sink. I was most impressed with how clean they left the area. Russ even wet mopped the bathroom. I would definitely recommend and would not hesitate to call again if needed in the future. read more

Called Russ after my plumber friend could not do my job because of a vacation. We had a burned out thermocouple on a GE water heater. No hot water for 4 days for a family of four waiting for the special part from GE. Russ and his son Logan came out and fixed it within an hour. I felt his price was fair and that he was a hard working, honest businessman. He explained how everything works to a "non-handyman" person like me. I will definitely call him the next time I need a great plumber. read more

By far the best customer service, very honest, upfront, and professional. fixed my problem in a mere hour or less and very reasonable cost. Highly recommend this guy for any of your plumbing needs. read more

Can't say enough good things about Top Hat. We had a sudden leak appear in our family room ceiling one morning, and Russ was able to come out within a couple of hours. The problem wasn't immediately obvious (thankfully, not a freshwater pipe leak as he'd feared), and we decided I needed a new upstairs toilet. He was honest about taking a markup on the ones he had in stock, if I wanted to go that route. I ran to Home Depot and got one on sale, met him back at my house and he got it quickly installed and operational. The cost was reasonable, especially given the short notice and our active leak. Russ is very friendly and knowledgable, and I wouldn't hesitate to use his services again! read more

I have used Russ now twice. Once for a potential water heater problem and then for a clogged drain line. Here are a few things I really like about him: 1. He is fast and responsive. If you don't have hot water or your kitchen sink line is clogged, you need to get it fixed fast. 2. He explains what he is going to do and then teaches you how to make the simple repairs yourself. He will tell you which repairs you can do yourself (with tricks of the trade) and which ones to be careful on (that means hire an expert). 3. I don't feel I am being taken advantage of. He will not do extra work or make suggestions just to put money in his own pocket. He only does what needs to get done and gives excellent recommendations about potential improvements should further problems occur. I found Top Hat Plumbing on Yelp and gave them a try based on the positive reviews. Now, there is no reason for me to search for a Plumber on Yelp any more. I have found my Plumber! read more

Called Russ on Monday to fix a leaky pipe in my attic. He came out the very next day & had me back up & running within an hour. Next time we have a plumbing problem, I will call you first!! Thank you!!! read more

Top Hat did not call back immediately but they are a small family business so I understand (he should get someone to monitor his phones or be more on top of it...could lead to loss of potential business). He showed up 30minutes late but he did call me first. He found the problem with our toliets right away and 4 hours later they are all fixed. I can double flush with ease after a big meal. read more

Top Hat was prompt in returning my call, came out the same day, provided a quote, did the work cleanly and efficiently. Very pleased with the whole experience and I would definitely recommend them and use them in the future. Top notch guys! read more

This plumber is really good. I usually read reviews, not write them. We needed a new kitchen faucet, a disposal installation and a handle on a hose bib. Russ is very good at his job. Having owned a business in the past, a business needing quite a lot of plumbing work, I really appreciate a plumber who will arrive on time, do the job in a quick, efficient manner, and not have to be called back for leaks afterwards. I would definitely call Top Hat Plumbing in the future if needed. Russ even brings a mat to do his work on so you do not need to spend time cleaning up scuff marks. Very neat! Highly recommend him! read more

We called Top Hat Plumbing when we realized our main water pipe into the house was leaking slowly. Russ came out within the day to take a look and fixed everything before the week was out. He is professional, reasonably priced and works fast. Feels good to have a plumber we'll call whenever we have another problem. Doesn't take cards so be ready to use cash or a check. read more

We had a great experience with Top Hat and Russ. My mother had a leak in her back yard under the sidewalk that was tied into main water service which cut off all water to the house. Russ responded within 2 hours and had the repair complete by 5:00 PM. Very professional, fairly priced, honest and explained options to my 88 year old mother that she could understand. Russ removed concrete so cleanly we were able to reinsert flag of concrete saving her money. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND TOP HAT PLUMBING FOR ANY PLUMBING NEEDS. read more

When I discovered that my hot water heater was leaking and flooding the garage, it was a Sunday evening. A bit panicked, I looked for a plumber on Yelp, as I have never needed one before. I noticed Top Hat was local and very highly rated. Fortunately, they were able to come right over, diagnose the problem, and replace the hot water heater in a very timely manner. Also, they went above and beyond by vacuuming up some water and explaining everything they did, as well as how to manage the new hot water heater. I feel completely confident recommending Top Hat to anyone who is in need of a plumber! Thanks Guys! read more

Discovered a leak in the main waterline to our house. Called Russ and he returned my call promptly and was able to come out the same same day as promised. He took the time to explain the problem and how he was going to fix it. Had the repair completed within an hour or so and that included getting proper parts. My husband, who is knowledgeable, was impressed because the workmanship and parts used were superior. Thanks Russ read more

Top Hat Plumbing (Russ and his son Logan) are professional, friendly, fair and fully deserve their high ratings. When I talked to Russ the morning my water heater broke (bad heating element), he postponed his non-urgent jobs and was able to fix it that same day. (GE Warranty told me what part I needed and Home Depot helped me find it.) Russ quickly verified the problem and gave me a fair estimate (they charge by the job not the hour). They worked so effectively and efficiently while good-naturedly answering all my questions that the job was completed and cleaned up in no time! read more
