Baldo has done a few jobs for my home. All pristine work. First job was a major backup in my downstairs shower. He was very knowledgeable and explained everything in detail. He was able to do a quick fix and later came back to do the repipping. It's been well over a year and I've have no issues. The most recent job he did for my home was my upstairs toilets. Both upstairs toilets were badly leeking from the base/pedestals. I shot Baldo a text and he responded right away. It was late in the evening so we decided for him to come in the morning. I had to work the next day but my fiance was there to work with Baldo. Again, the work was done timely, properly and efficient. I read some of the comments below and what people fail to realize is that this is not a commercial company. This is a handyman service, not Roter Rooter. He has a small staff yes, but they do great, reliable work. As far as the cost, I believe the prices are fair for the services. Who wouldn't pay for a job well done? Thank you Baldo for your affordable, reliable service. Always my go to guy! read more

Was impressed with "respond within an hour". But that response was to ask for address and phone number and a promise of an estimate. A day passed. What's next? Should I wait? Are you going to take up the job? Or should I ask others? Update: Baldo replied soon. And I'm glad he did. The water damage to my bathroom was worse than expected. Baldo explained everything to me and showed me how bad it was. He adjusted his schedule to make sure that everything would be just fine after that. He is a classic example of the saying, good things come to those who wait. Final update: (Sept 11, 2017) I paid in full with a promise by Ricardo that he will put in the floorboards in the coming week. It has been more than 6 weeks and I am still waiting. My advice is DO NOT PAY IN FULL until they complete the whole job. Dropping another star for this. read more

Affordable Handyman - Plumbing Near Me

We had a wonderful experience with A & D Construction during our recent repairs on our home in Cupertino. We needed to prep for an exterior painting project and some of the siding and flashing boards needed to be replaced. The team was always on time and worked late to complete the project in scope and within budget. Excellent quality in both materials used and workmanship. A wonderful smooth experience from start to finish with this team and definitely recommend the A&D Construction team for home improvements. Thanks Baldo and Uncle!!!! read more

So far Baldo and his guys have handled complete external stucco & internal plaster repair for us and I absolutely recommend them. As a GC Baldo has long and deep experience with jobs of all sizes and he's been working with his subs for a long time. He explained everything every step of the way, offered alternatives, was very reliable on scheduling, and is just a pleasant guy to work with. read more

Thank you Baldo, for coming out on such a short notice to fix my drains, greatly appreciated. I would recommend him to my friends and family. I will have more work for you coming in the future. read more

We called on Mother's Day for an over the range microwave installation. Because our delivery and installer from Home Depot was unable to install it upon delivery, we called Affordable Handyman in the hopes he would be able to come install it immediately. I spoke with Baldo the same day and he came out within two hours of us speaking. He gave us an estimate of the work and told us he could come the next day to install. The installation went smoothly and the microwave looks great in the house and works perfectly. We highly recommend Baldo, he has such great response time and was so easy to work with! read more

Affordable Handyman - Plumbing Near Me

Baldo saved our butts on multiple occasions. I left a previous 5-star review but I can't seem to locate it anymore so I'll try to also re-cap the previous work he's done for us. First time we called Baldo, our water heater pipe burst, threatening to drown everything we had stored in the garage... around 11pm in the evening. We have a trusted plumber whom we call when we have plumbing issues but this was obviously way after hours so we frantically called around for someone who would assist us with the emergency. Left dozens of messages with several companies and handymen; Baldo was the only who who responded and was willing to come to us so late in the evening. Replaced the pipe, practically by candlelight, and did an immaculate job and charged fairly for it. Baldo also installed a pretty complicated water hookup, to our refrigerator, for us. And we were very happy with it. Fast forward to his most recent job. Our landscapers were doing work in our yard and accidentally hammered a nail into our water main. We had a geyser drenching our yard. It happened in the early evening. They attempted to fix it--to no avail--and by the time they threw in the towel, we were without water at 11pm again (seems to be our witching hour). We absolutely could not go without water so we called Baldo. He came, and replaced the section of the pipe with almost seamless connections, and left it in a much better state than before the landscapers broke it. And he charged fairly again. He's never let us down and is our go-to guy, for sure. Side note: I'm looking at some of the negative reviews left for Baldo's business and I think what's key is to bear in mind that when you call a handyman, after normal business hours, for emergency fix-its--and he shows up immediately to try to help you resolve your problem--you need to be reasonable and expect a little bit of an upcharge. Otherwise, you're typically going to have to wait at least 24 hours or, at least, until the following morning. This guy has a family and a life he wants to get back to, like most of his customers. read more

Affordable Handyman was quick to respond and squeeze me in for an appointment. My bathtub would not turn off and I had to shut off my water to my house in order to turn off the water. He was great and explained to me what was wrong and fixed it in a timely manner. He got the parts and fixed it. As for the price, it cost $280. I am not sure if that is considered reasonable or not but I do like that he was quick to respond and was professional. IF there is a next time, I'll fix it on my own. The price is a bit much but worth it this time since it needed to be done for my tenants. read more

We needed help installing a water filter under the kitchen sink and contacted Baldo via Yelp. He quickly came over and gave us an estimate, but commented that all the parts under the sink were due for replacement. We knew this was not a up-sale because another plumber and ourselves have recognized the problem but didn't want to spend so much money in one go. Eventually we decided to just get everything fixed. He didn't charge us for coming out to look at the kitchen sink and not doing the original request. Baldo gave us a new estimate and said he would come back the next day, which was Labor Day! He told us what parts to buy (we needed a new faucet, too), and offered to buy them for us if we wanted to. We ended up buying most of the big stuff, and he supplied the pipes and smaller parts. Baldo came over the next day on time and promptly got to work. He explained what he was doing and was happy to add or move things around after he installed them. We felt safe enough to leave him at home alone and went out for brunch. We came back a bit late but he was patiently waiting with no problems. He also hauled away what trash he could (since he ran out of space in his truck). There's a 90-day warranty to give us peace of mind as well. read more

We had Baldomar and his team do some needed repairs before we were to have our house painted. They did the work neatly and on time. The quality of their work was great. We will use them again when we have issues in the future. read more

Called these guys after the water flow from the kitchen refrigerator was severely reduced and the appliance guy told me I had to change the water line. Beto was the only guy to answer my call after calling four different companies. He came out that evening and took a look at the situation and gave me a great price to come back the next morning and run a new water line. He showed up promptly at 8 a.m. the next morning and was done in about an hour. Now the water flows perfect like it used to. I will definitely use him again in the future. read more

Baldo and his assistant Manuel repaired quite a bit of exterior damage to our house - work that was beyond the capability of the painting company who recommended him to us. He came when he said he would. He stuck to the estimate he provided. When extra work was needed, he provided a prompt revision of the estimate and honored that estimate. When a minor follow-up was needed, he and Manuel came out promptly. They cleaned up the area after they finished, leaving no trace they'd been there. I recommend The Affordable Handyman as competent, professional, thorough, and - yes - affordable. read more

Bad Customer Service...Called and he said he wanted the work and he would call me back but never did. Called him again he said email him. I emailed twice with no response. Gave him a 3rd chance and called he said he would call us back in a few minutes but NO call phone call again. He missed out on a large job and long term business opportunity. read more

Quality work and prompt response. Had an internal leak above the 1st floor bathroom. Baldo and his team was the first one to respond and made arrangement to come and inspect. He was able to diagnose the issue and came up with an overall plan upon very first visit and carried through the work for the next few weeks. There was no slack in finishing up the details after fixing the leak. read more

Very unprofessional. Did not provide a written estimate. Duped my wife into agreeing to pay $270 without fixing the problem. The shower knob was not working. He looked into it, and then said it would cost $1000 to fix the problem. My wife said that was too expensive, and said she could not pay that much. He then said that the water would run if it was not fixed, because apparently he had already opened it up. He then said it would cost $270 to just "cap" it and not fix the problem. Essentially my wife got cornered into agreeing to pay $270 just to be able to have the water mains turned on and not have the water gushing out in the shower all the time! I was out at the time, and came home just as he was finishing his capping. I told him it was very unreasonable to have to pay $270 just to revert back without fixing the problem. I also told hm it was very unprofessional of him to proceed with a job without getting a written estimate. I agreed to pay him $100 for what he did, even though he said the estimate was free and nothing was fixed. I did give him a check for $100 for this job. He has also threatened me by saying he will get a lien on my house through the city of Fremont. I am going to report this incident to the California State Contractor License Board. Be wary if this contractor, folks. read more

Our 12-year-old water heater started leaking, and after contacting several plumbers (some who did not show up), we found Affordable Handyman on yelp. We contacted Baldo and explained the problem. He was currently working on a job, but since we had an emergency, he postponed work at that job and came to our rescue. Due to the age of the water heater and the work that was needed to bring it up-to-code, we decided to replace our old water heater with a new one. Baldo did a great job, and we had our new water heater up and running that same day. Baldo is a very nice guy and we are very happy with his work. We highly recommend him, and will not hesitate to use him for future work! read more

After my last handyman moved out of town I looked around yelp for a new reliable service, and am glad I contacted Baldo. He has now been out for two different jobs in our kitchen, and has done a great job both times. I would recommend his services to anyone. read more

The boss agreed to a quote in the previous day, the helper Ricardo called and refused to do job (with the quote) the next day. I hired another person to do the job. Ricardo texted me today and asked if he could do it; I told him no. He then texted me the F word and said he didn't want my business anyway. What a man like Ricardo! Stay away from him. read more

These guys high-fived themselves as they drove away after duping my wife into paying $295 to replace a PVC pipe (half hour of work). No Quote. No Receipt. If you like being ripped off then these are the guys for you. We will be taking the rest of our business elsewhere! You should pick someone else. read more

WARNING: contracor's license number listed by this business is not a good license number. BBB does not have this business listed and he claims a 5 star rating. Response to business owner's reply to my first review: Well Baldo, then all you have to do is NOT tell people that you will be there to do the job. If you are not really a handyman, but a contractor who wants only big jobs, get licensed and change your business name. But DO NOT tell people that you will do the job then never show up or call. read more

I called him and he said he'll be there to give me an estimate and make repair for me but I never heard from him again

We scheduled twice, I took time off from work and he never showed up and never called to let me know he can't make it.

These guys will milk you if you have an emergency or water leak. They don't give you the quote but they will cancel all other appointments so that you get to use them and they will charge very high. The water heater costs 600 but they charged 1000 besides the heater cost. They didn't even bother to check if there is anything wrong with the heater or not. They just want you to install a new heater. Their charges are not reasonable and they call themselves affordable. After reading previous reviews, they look like like don't show up if they have to provide quotes, which I can understand. read more

I trust him. So friendly and professional. He responded to my quest very quickly. Thank you.

We needed to have some very old solar stuff removed from our roof. We contacted some roofing companies that didn't want to touch the job. They said to find a handyman to remove the old water heaters, then call them to repair the damage. Fortunately we found Baldo. He came out very quickly and gave us a fair quote. He not only removed the junk, he did all the roof repairs needed while he was up there. We have more projects ahead as we get the house ready to sell. I will be calling Baldo today to start working on those. read more

Called these guys for a very small concrete job since it was below the project minimum for most residential hardscaping companies. Scheduling was a bit of a challenge since these guys are so busy but once the work was lined up Baldo and Ricardo efficiently completed it in one morning at a fair price point. Would definitely reach out to these guys again! read more

He doesn't honor the 50% off Yelp coupon although he posted it. When I asked why he doesn't , he said "I guess you want to play nickels and dimes and sorry I can't do your job". I feel he's very rude and will not hire such person for any jobs. read more

Called this guy on short notice and said he would be able to come in an hour, took a little longer than an hour and I still waited because I appreciated how friendly he originally was, that and the free quote on how much it would cost to unplug the main line. I told him on the phone about the Yelp ad and he said he would honor it and that it would cost less with the Yelp ad. So he gets here and he takes a look at what the problem is and tells me that the Yelp discount isn't applicable unless it's over 400-500 dollars, when on the phone he said it applied to any consultation. It just bothered me that he came up with lame excuses as to why the coupon wouldn't work. Might as well not even use Yelp if people aren't gonna honor their specials. read more

I called in the morning today for a few fixes at home. Baldo offered to come in the afternoon between 1-3pm. I was thrilled for his quick response. I then asked for leave from work and made sure I was home by 1pm. Guess what! I texted and called Baldo numerous times between 1-3pm and got two texts from him: "Oh K" and he did NOT show up at all. It's even worse than not picking up the phone in the beginning and not promising to come! Such an irresponsible person! NEVER use him!!! read more

I was counting on a handyman to come install a new faucet earlier this week but he cancelled on me, so I needed someone last minute. I found out about Affordable Handyman and Baldo was able to set up a morning appointment the following day. He provided great service and good information that I needed to know for next time if I ever needed a new faucet system. Thanks Baldo! read more

We are pleased with the outdoor plumbing work that Baldo of Affordable Handyman service did for us. He moved a front yard faucet a few feet because we are getting ready to redo our driveway and the faucet was too close. The finished project looks very nice with the faucet waist high and thus easier to reach without bending down. He mounted it to the fence and used copper so it looks quite elegant. A few days after he left, he had to come back because a small leak revealed itself. But he came over quickly, fixed it and didn't charge us any more (of course). It was work we didn't want to do ourselves. Baldo was friendly and professional. read more

Baldo took my call at 9PM on Sunday night; was willing to come out, but we decided for him to fix a broken irrigation pipe early Monday AM. He was polite, businesslike, quick and well-equipped. Offered to come back later if there was an issue: there wasn't! 90 day warranty. Stuck to his estimate. Eliminated a headache that could have taken me multiple trips to the hardware store read more

Left messages a couple of times and no call back for a week or two.

I had a broken window that had to be fixed and it was late in the evening. I had called Baldo, the handyman if he could drop by my house and take a look at it. He actually came by to check even though it was late at night, and the following day, he came through again to fix the window. I love the fact that he was able to take two trips to my house and it showed he really cared in accomplishing the job. Thank you, Baldo! read more

I had these 2 guys come to my house recently to install a water heater. First of all, their price was very reasonable. We looked around to find alternatives, but couldn't beat them. When they were installing the water heater, they did not look at the instructions even once and did not have to re-do any of their work. It was very clear they knew exactly what they were doing, which is obviously a very important trait that we did in professionals. Also, he gives you a legit receipt with all of the work performed as well as a 90 day warranty for labor in writing. My dad and I saved his number to call him for future services we may need. Strongly recommend them. Not to mention, they are very friendly. read more

Baldo arrived on time and quickly fixed our plumbing problem. I recommend Affordable for plumbing work.

Affordable Handyman came to my home. He's a very nice man. I called and he came the next day. He did a great job fixing one toilet replacing the guts in the toilet tank in one bathroom and fixed the sink in the other bathroom replacing the stopper & the parts under the sink. He also gave me "Yelp" discount. I do have say that I thought the price of $380 (which included parts & he went to the store for the parts) was a bit high but he was here for about 2+ hrs. I'm happy to have everything working. I don't know what prices are these days & they may have been normal. Thank you Baldo. read more

Baldo is great! Had a water leak coming from two pipes and as a new home owner I was freaking out, naturally. I called Baldo on a Sunday afternoon and he came to my rescue within the hour... and brought his cousin (in law?) with him too! Fixed my water pipes and replaced them with new ones quickly, and then came back the next day to put in a water pressure reducer since my water pressure was at 80psi (my tenant mentioned to me once that her shower pressure is a little too strong). He's good at explaining what is wrong and what he needs to do to fix it before fixing it, and will give you a quote before you agree too. Very professional, dependable and reasonable with pricing. Would recommend to my friends! read more

Always weary about using service providers I find on the Internet as I have had some bad experiences in the past, but that is NOT the case with Baldo. I had called Baldo last week to come and give me an estimate for installing some preassembled kitchen cabinets at one of our rentals. He showed up as promised the next day, on time. Very impressive. He then listened carefully as I explained what work I would need done and what materials I would supply. Baldo then gave me a very fair estimate which resulted in no haggling over a price but quickly moving to the next step of setting the date and time in which he could do the work. Yesterday Baldo arrived about 15 minutes early, again, extremely impressive as I am a firm believer in punctuality. When you tell a person you are going to be there, do not keep them waiting. Baldo and his partner then jumped right into removing the old cabinets, kept an extremely clean work area and completed the work in record time . Having done this type of work myself over the years, I can say that I am very impressed with his quality and workmanship. His professionalism and fair prices are a huge plus. I can honestly say that going forward, Baldo will be my go to guy on all future rental property maintenance. read more
