I have been using Plumbing America for over 25 years for all my plumbing needs including septic and spring repair. They are professional and fairly priced. The people that work there are great from the owner on down. They do an excellent job. They are prompt and efficient and I would recommend them to anyone. read more

I'd been advised by several other plumbers that my home needed to have its water pressure regulator replaced, an expensive piece of work. I asked Plumbing America for a quote (based on photos I submitted) and then based on their quote invited them to come out to replace the regulator. However, when they came to our home, instead of simply jumping to do the work (for which they would have earned more money), Plumbing America representatives Paul and Jessie took time first to analyze the problem. Missed by the other plumbers who had come to our home, Paul and Jessie found the cause of the problem and solved it. When repairs around the home are needed, everyone wants to work with someone they can trust. Plumbing America has earned my trust and I will recommend them to my friends and bring all of my future plumbing business to them. read more

Scott has done multiple jobs for us, from small repairs to replacing a large (very old) clay pipe from the house to the sewer connection which had collapsed. He has always been professional, his prices fair and his response times great. Cannot recommend highly enough. read more

We had a water heater that fied during the Christmas holidays and was advised by our hone warranty company that they could not have a plumbing company and water heater available for 2 weeks. We called Scott at Plumbing America and he had a few water heater installed in 24 hours. We highly recommend Acott anx his team for their professionalism, courtesy and assistance without which we would have had to stay in a hotel for 2 weeks and board our dog. read more

Great service along with friendly office staff. The plumber that did the job was exceptional

We fired Plumbing America. They were more interested in charging outrageous prices than performing timely work.

I contacted Plumbing America because my replacement razor blade holder fell into the toilet. I didn't think anything of it until the next day the toilet was overflowing. I was also having issues with a slow bathtub drain. I contacted a few local plumbing companies. I had originally scheduled an appointment with another plumbing company but I decided I better call around to see if I could get a better price as the first one seemed a little pricey. I spoke with Gary on the phone who attempted to get a technician out that afternoon but they were booked up, he called me back to let me know no one could make it out that evening and someone would be out first thing in the morning. I wasn't in a rush so it didn't bother me at all. Prior to the plumber arriving I received a call from Gary informing me that a plumber was on the way and if I needed anything to give him a call. The plumber, Esteban (I believe), arrived promptly at 8 o'clock as scheduled. I explained the problem and he explained the process in which he was going to solve the problem. I am usually a fix it myself kind of person, so I like to watch to learn. I asked Esteban if he minded if I looked over his shoulder to see what he was doing. He didn't mind at all! He removed the toilet to make sure the clog was not beyond the toilet, which it wasn't. He was able to removed the clog in the toilet. He cleaned up the water that spilled out and reattached the toilet with a new wax ring, wiping everything down when he was done. He tested the toilet multiple times, adding wadded up toilet paper to make sure it was a solid fix! Great JOB! He then proceeded to snake the drain of the bathtub removing the clog. I was impressed with the quality of workmanship, the friendliness of the Plumber and the pricing. He worked swiftly and did not try to overcharge or make extra money off of me. I would highly recommend them based on my one experience!! A++++ Job read more

I have not actually had this company do work for me, but was impressed by their customer service nonetheless. I give them 4 stars because I don't think I can give 5 without having actual work done. Maybe that sounds a little strange, but here's the story: My 23 year old water heater leaked and I didn't notice it. The wooden stand it was on molded. I didn't know what to do. I tried to drain the heater but even with the inlet valve shut off it kept leaking, and the outlet valve was broken, so it was flooding my garage and potentially damaging some fiberboard storage shelves there. In a panic I had Home Depot's contractor (Fast Water Heater--check my review on them) come and remove the heater, with same day service. But they were only able to do water heaters, not other kinds of work. That left me still with the mold problem. I talked to the insurance company, they suggested having a remediation company do an estimate, but the remediators came out, looked, and never called back--the job was too small to interest them. (Mold affecting less than 10 square feet does not require professional remediation.) I couldn't figure out what I needed to do to get rid of the mold and replace the heater stand to suit code. In addition, I couldn't remove the stand because it was nailed to the concrete with special nails (the nailed layer was pressure treated wood and not molded), so I couldn't just use a pre-fab metal water heater stand from the store. For a month I stalled not knowing what to do or how to do it. Then a plumbing supply company recommended I call Plumbing America, because not only are they plumbers but also general contractors. I called. Scott came over after only about an hour. He told me he could do the job and it would take about 3 hours. It told him I thought I could do it because it was small if only I knew what I needed to do. It was clear he was willing to do the work--but he was also not pressuring me to hire him. He told me what I needed to do, and I asked him if he minded if I did it myself, and he said that was fine. Point is, this is a guy who seems to care about his reputation here in town as a local plumber, and was willing to let me do work that was reasonable for me to do, rather than just trying to get money out of me. He was genuinely helpful in telling me what to do and how to do it. So even though he didn't do my plumbing for me (since I was already committed on that aspect), I know that this is a guy who will work with his clients to make sure they are satisfied, and who isn't going to try to fluff up his billing by suggesting unnecessary work or any of those other nasty things you hear about. I think he may well be that mythical creature so often sought-after--an ethical contractor. Next time I have contractor-type work that is over my head to do, this guy's on my short list of who to call for an estimate. read more

Scott was great and scheduled us the the very next day. My mom who is a senior needed several things done, including new toilets, new kitchen fixture, grab bars and shower fixtures. Paul was the main plumber that did the work along with Jacob I think that was his name.) They were awesome. Very professional. They did great work and got it done quickly. Very personable and friendly. My mom is so happy with everything. I definitely recommend them! read more

I scheduled 3 plumbers to bid on a gas line job. Scott was the only one who showed up, and he was actually on time. I just purchased a home so was a little short on cash. Scott helped me figure out how to get most of what I wanted in a way that fit my budget. His workers were polite and professional. The work was top notch and passed inspection on the first try. Thanks, Plumbing America! read more

Plumbing America is AMAZING! FIrst of all, Scott picked up the phone and gave very good customer service by sending someone out immediately when I explained my problem. Then, his nephew, Nick, came PROMPTLY on time the next morning! I was amazed! He did the work quickly and returned on time to turn the water back on. I would give this company ten stars if I could. Anyone who needs a plumber in the South Bay area would be nuts not to call Scott. And they work with insurance companies! Yea! read more

Woke up this morning, got ready for work, about to leave the house when I saw that the toilet in our laundry room had just about exploded. I'm 7 months pregnant and my husband is out of town. It was the grossest thing I had ever witnessed in my adult life, and I'll spare everyone the details. I had no idea who to call or where to start. I found Plumbing America on yelp with consistent positive reviews and I'm very happy to be adding to to the list. I worked with Gary, Scott, and Dave. These guys rearranged their schedules on a dime and had someone out to my house in no time. They handled the crappy situation (pun intended) with such care and professionalism. Above and beyond that, I felt like they treated me like they would their own daughter or wife and made sure I was well taken care of. The problem was fixed and the mess was cleaned. They even helped me get rid of the effected boxes in the garage. I really can't express my appreciation enough - and when I tried to thank them, I was basically told that they shouldn't be thanked but thanked me for allowing them to work on my home. Amazing display of customer service! read more

I wanted to write today to let everyone know how appreciative I am to Plumbing America. I had the gas in my house turned off last night due to a gas leak. This was devastating and a huge inconvenience to me and my family. First thing this morning I called Plumbing America to help me with my situation. Scott Thompson, the owner came over personally today and locked off the damaged line so PG&E could come back and restore the gas to the inside of my house. I will call back tomorrow to make an appointment so they can come back and fix the line that was leaking. I'm so relieved and happy to have my stove and hot water again, thanks PLUMBING AMERICA I will definitely use you over and over again!!! I highly recommend Plumbing America for any job, large or small! read more

These guys are great. They were the ONLY company who answered the phone on a Sunday when I was in desperate need of a plumber at 6pm on a Sunday night. (water heater leaking and flooding my garage). I had called my home warranty company (First American) with the problem at 10am and they took 7 hours to tell me that they couldn't find anyone and I could find my own plumber. So I ended up getting Paul from Plumbing America. He came out within 15 minutes and stopped the leak so my garage wouldn't completly flood out. They did great job and I would definately call them again now that I will not be renewing my home warranty (because First American provided a very bad experience). read more

Polite, professional and high on customer service! situation: Had an outdoor leak and Gilroy Water called to tell me their meter at my house indicated this. I searched and called Plumbing America who sent someong within hours. Scott was professional, kind, polite, and taught me plumbing 101 by telling me what PVC stood for! I called them shortly before they arrive to let them know my "engineering brother in law" could fix it. I told him I would pay for the mileage of their effort in coming out but he declined and kindly said just to refer them which I am. I will use them again moving forward!! read more

Scott the owner is always fair and considerate. He helped me clear roots out of my drains that were completely plugged and helped me run a new septic line. He scheduled everything and handled the work. Everything works great! He also handled changing out an 80 gallon water heater for me. I have always been happy with his service. read more

It was a pretty bad overall experience with this plumbing company. I have a leaking pipe outside the house and needed repair. Looked up the yelp and find this one. Scott the owner quote me for one hour labor plus materials after I describe the problem, I thought it was fair so I asked him to send someone over ASAP. Since it was late afternoon and and nobody at the home during working hours so I had to schedule next available time slot which was 3:30pm next day. Again, that is the only time they have available late afternoon and I had to leave work earlier to meet with the technician. No complain yet but once the tech showed up and he told me he could not do it that day because the glue will need time to dry so we can't take shower or cook and he will come back the next day and they won't charge for the extra trip. Make sense to me so we set up next morning. Since the leak is outside the house the tech told me I don't need to be there when he fixes it. I was anxious on how much time he will take since their hourly rate is not cheap! Next morning went pretty smoothly and about half hour the technician completed the work even though he had to cut the new pipe twice. The Tech told me that he will keep the water valve shut to allow glue to dry and he will turn it back on before I come back home from work. Again, he assured me that there would be no charge for another trip to turn water back on since he lives around the corner. There was no water when I got home 4:00pm that day and worst yet, I could not get anyone to answer my phone call after several trials to the main office, or the owner or the technician. I had to go out to get dinner for the family after one hour waiting and no phone call returned. When I got the meal back to my surprise the water is back on and the tech nicely left an apology note on my door! So far not too bad at least the problem is fixed. Not until I got my bill, it clearly says that I need to pay for the three trips and when I called to question, I got a really rude response basically saying we don't appreciate your business since you want to question our invoice! Unbelievable rude customer service from the owner. I will never do business with them again! read more

Very professional and knowledgeable. They replaced an old water heater. While they were here, they also did a number of minor repairs. We have old pipes and the water pressure was very low, to the extent that one of our showers was almost unusable. They cleared out the pipes, meaning we won't have to replace the piping anytime soon. Shower is now good to go! (We had 2 other plumbers try and fail at this, but still charged me). Their bill was very reasonable considering all the work they did. Highly recommended! read more

Once again, thank you Yelp and Yelpers for helping me find this great business. When our water heater stopped working, I called our homeowner insurance and they referred us to another company. When I looked up reviews of that other company online, reviews were so bad, that I was ready to get better service and pay on my own. When I called Plumbing America, I talked to Gary, he asked for the brand and serial number of the water heater. He said that brand was very popular for a specific part to brake. So he checked if he had the parts before sending someone. The person who came was very professional, got the job done and we got hot water before thanksgiving long weekend. That really made our day! read more

I've called several other local companies. Some didn't return my call. One even said they would be here in a few minutes. They never showed. I had nearly given up until I had found Plumbing America! Paul showed up on time, which is a plus in my book. Our pipes were frozen, but he ran a snake through and did what he could anyways. He told me he would come back when the water was running again. True to their word, Scott sent John out right away. The problem was fixed in a timely manner. Scott and his team were very professional, kind, respectful, and patient. I would absolutely recommend Plumbing America to anyone for their plumbing needs! read more

Outstanding service ! The drains in my barn got plugged up and I couldn't get them cleaned out with an auger. I called Plumbing America and talked with Scott. I highly recommend Plumbing America ! I will certainly be using them the next time I need any plumbing work done. read more

Plumbing America came through for me with flying colors. For a year, I had declining water pressure. It got to the point I could only use one source of water at a time and it was a trickle at best. The washing machine shut down mid-cycle and the soap would not dissolve in the dishwasher. Four different plumbers were called and could not remedy the situation. I was told I needed a new water pipe at costs ranging from $5,000 to $8,000. Plumbing America was recommended by a close friend and through their skill and persistence, an 18 inch root plug was forced out of the pipe. Thank you Scott, you have a customer for life! read more

I was very excited about finding this company on line with so many positive reviews. But I emailed them, called them and spoke with a woman that works there, then called them again and spoke to a different woman and I still haven't heard back from the plumbers about a quote to re-pipe my house. I won't be calling them or recommending them to anyone. A total waste of my time. read more
