We had them replace our two aging gas furnaces with heat pumps. They came and evaluated our current system and discussed our goals. Then they provided two options with no pressure on which to choose, but explanations of each. We chose the one we preferred, and we scheduled the installation, which was only a couple weeks later. Their work was done very professionally, including adding needed circuits and pipes. Their problem solving skills were admirable and everything was done in two days. They routed the lines to the heat exchangers through the crawlspace, so none of it is visible; neatly done. All of the guys were great to work with and complete professional. This was the second time we called Alex to assist us. The first time was a couple of years back when we had issues connecting our Nest thermostat to our heater. This time our ac condensation line broke behind our wall causing water damage. Alex came the very next morning after we called and replaced the broken line, fixing the issue. Very disappointed in this company. I patronize the Local businesses in Morgan Hill, but end up calling companies out of the area where I used to live because of "One call" and it's taken care of. I accomplished nothing and had to Call a company in San Jose to handle my problem. I am not a HVAC person, thats why I called. Not sure why they were asking me to diagnose the problem. I tried to install a Nest thermostat in my home and it's not as "easy to install" as they advertise. that being said, I lost power to both my first and second floor thermostats. After trying to get a repair done through several "experts" (PG&E, an electrician, a Google Installer) I am so Happy I had reached out to Alex. He was able to find out what was wrong and fix my HVAC unit within 2hours which is a lot more than I got from anyone else. Our 35 year old compressor unit broke down after serving very well. I researched and called 5 different companies. Alex was among the first to respond and he asked for pictures and video of the unit to see the issue. He diagnosed the problem and suggested a replacement. When our AC stopped working, Alex offered to check the system and set us up with an appointment for the following day. When he removed our filter--which was in dire need of replacing--the AC began to work. Since he said there seemed to be nothing wrong with our system, he did not charge us for the consultation! Unfortunately, the AC broke down again the next day, and Alex agreed to come back to check what the problem might be. He found out that our capacitor needed replacing and luckily had brought one of the correct size with him. Throughout the entire process, Alex was very helpful and kind as he answered all our questions and gave us advice on how to properly work our AC system and thermostat. Helpful even with yelp messages and good communication offering solutions that are useful. The furnace was not working even after we repaired the electrical breaker. Alex was extremely professional. I shared videos of our furnace and he trouble-shoot online using messages. I realized the furnace lid was not properly closed while he was trying to help me get the error code. On one end he could have not offered help on yelp messages trying to gain $60 inspection fee - but he chooses to win customer(s) and this good review of his business. I have a wall heater that was making intermittent loud banging noise. I first asked Atlas Heating to troubleshoot the problem. I have to wait one week for Atlas to send a sub-contractor to check the furnace. They couldn't fix the problem and charged me $100 for the inspection. I reviewed Yelp and asked Alex of FedAir for a quote on Friday afternoon. Alex came the following Monday. He explained to me that replacing the furnace is more economical in a long run. He quoted me a lot less than Atlas Heating and could replace my heater the next day. Alex finished the job in 1/2 day. The wall heater has been working quietly for more than a week now. From the reviews I read here, I don't think it was Alex that came and looked at our furnace. The guy that showed wasn't curtiuos. Not a hey, hi or how are you doing, kinda weird character. First tried to recommend a new wall thermostat until I checked it myself and found it wasn't properly turned on. Once the furnace started running and only one burner was lit, then boom the second one lit, which is the problem my wife called for, he looked puzzled. Then began to say I think it's this repeatedly at different components, then followed by I know someone who works on furnaces like this. I was completely losing confidence in this guy. I began to ask questions and point out that if he wasn't familiar with this furnace, it's ok, I understand and that I didn't feel comfortable him going any further. I guess he agreed and left, but not before giving me an estimate to replace our furnace. I get the feeling that the standard practice is replace if you can't figure it out. I'm pretty sure the burner just needs cleaning so that the pilot light can reach the second burner. One star for finding the place and on time, even though it was a waste of all our time. Update to the comment below by Alex. Yes, the problem poses a safety concern, that's why we called you. We found you on Yelp and when we called and described the problem, we were told confidently by the dispatcher, "Yes we fix that problem". With our work schedule, child care and COVID, we didn't have time to deal with this issue since our new tenant was moving in that night. Being told we may need to find a specialist for this furnace puzzles me, aren't you a heating specialist? This is a simple unit to work on with parts still available. I really get the feeling that this company specializes in replacement only.
