Let me start that I was looking to replace my HVAC system of over 20 years, so this being a big purchase I retrieved about 6 estimates. These estimates ranged from around $9k to $15K. During this time I learned a lot (not professional level of course) about HVAC systems, different stage furnaces, seer ratings and condensers. My HVAC system is in my garage, one stage 80% efficiency and LOUD since the return is located on the floor near my kitchen. Each estimator that came did help with suggestions such as adding a second return on opposite edge of the current return or placing the system in my attic. Needless to say most of the estimators didn't account for actual issues that would have arisen if I gone with them. Home-Air was recommended to me by a family member and was told it is a small group of people run by the owner Vic. After visiting my relative and seeing the work he had done on their house (which is twice the size of mine) I decide to add Home-Air to my group of vendors. I made the phone call to Vic and he was a very pleasant and direct person. I explained what I wanted to do and he suggested a one stage furnace @ 80% which is what I currently had. He explained why that was his choice versus a two stage or variable. Vic also explained ways to reduce the noise I had around the return area. From my discussion with Vic, I could tell he had a vast knowledge of the HVAC industry ranging from installation to product choices. Vic gave a very nice quote which surprised me. Vic continued the phone conversation about why he doesn't like to oversell and how he is not driven by sales numbers. I choose Vic and Home-Air based on the quote provided, the positive reviews here on yelp, the work he did on my relatives home, and in part due to Vic himself. Vic came to my house and determined he could make improvements to my older installation area; while maintaining the cost within the given estimate. He informed me he would order the equipment the next day and would be able to do the actual job a few days after that. On day of installation, Vic and his crew came in and replaced both the furnace, AC unit, and condenser within six hours. His crew were very professional and they cleaned up after they were done. Vic does special "adjustments" that he likes to do in order to make his customers happy. I was really floored after the completion of the project and how he reduced the noise near our return by what I feel is 85%. The system he recommended is quiet and efficient for the size of our house. I would recommend Home-Air for any HVAC project and definitely put Vic up against bids from any other companies. Highest recommendation based on the excellent service by the owner, Vic. He is professional, punctual, reliable, honest, and knowledgeable. He patiently answered all of my (many) questions to help us decide which AC unit worked best for our home. He and his employees arrived on time and installed our new unit - and made other adjustments to the air input area per Vic's helpful advice - exactly as we discussed. We are more than satisfied with our new unit. Around six months after the install, during the extreme heat wave, we called Vic to ask about the heat's effect on our AC unit. He immediately returned our call to provide helpful info to help maximize the efficiency of our AC unit in the extreme heat, which we greatly appreciated. In addition, he fit us into his busy schedule (still during the heat wave) to check our AC unit's refrigerant and the output of temperature in our house to make sure it was working properly. Again, he was punctual (10 minutes early). Seeing that our filter was dirty, he also replaced it with a clean filter. Vic and his Home Air business have my highest recommendation. I was first introduced to Vic a couple years ago. He was highly recommended by a close and trusted friend. 2 years later, not only would I have the same pleasure of recommending him, but I wouldn't call anyone else. When I first met Vic, he came out, spent over an hour reviewing our home, and spent an additional hour giving me solutions. He explained how our unit was undersized, and the numerous other issues created by prior installers, and our old home. Not only is Vic's character unimpeachable, he truly serves to seek the best solution for the customer by providing the best value per dollar approach. I met with two other HVAC companies, both proposing a solution that was expensive, seemed unecessary, and beyond our means. Vic cut the bullsh*$t out of the conversation and explained how those other bids would only serve as bandaids. We went with Vic, who did a phenomenal and clean job redoing our ducts and giving us additional air upstairs until we would be ready to install a second unit. Roughly a year later, I was in need of another solution for a commercial property. Doing my own due dilligence, several bids came in, all of which proposed solutions that were costly, and uninformed. Vic gave us a reasonable quote, and was amazingly able to complete the job in the required time frame. My employees could not be happier with the outcome. He patched the insulation in the ceiling, protected them with plastic sheets, and hired a crane for the job. He took extraordinary measures to ensure HOA and code compliance. We hired Vic a third time to add an additional unit upstairs in our home. We were overly concerned with the unit placement, how loud it would be, and if it would be sufficient. Vic's team of respectful employees completed the job in just over a day, did a clean job, and went through enormous efforts to sound proof the unit in our attic. The house cools down in an hour on days above 95, and the units actually turn off. An honest HVAC professional: After getting burnt a few times working with other contractors, I did not expect much when Vic came to our home to give us an estimate to replace our AC and re-do the ducting. He spent more than an hour educating me about the pro's, con's, and Return on Investment (RoI) for the project. He gave us a competitive bid on the job with options to do it in phases.
