Billy did an awesome job with our system inspection. He was polite, professional, and arrived right on time. It made me very happy to hear that our 10 year old furnace and AC are still in perfect shape. He did pitch an optional bypass unit to us; while he was very nice about it and made sure to mention it wasn't mandatory, it felt a little unnecessary since everything is already working so well. Still, Billy's customer service was excellent and the quality of his inspection was top notch! read more

Thanks again, Yelp for an excellent recommendation. Mom's heater went out and Billy was here right on time. Went directly to the bad part and fixed it very quickly, but also noticed that the burner was running at an excessively high temperature. Adjusted this and made the system safe. Didn't rush and was systematic and complete - but charged a very nominal fee to do the work. Competent and polite - would happily recommend to anyone. read more

Having trouble with furnace turning off. Called and got a same day appt with Billy. He was professional and friendly, and very patient with our many questions. He did find our thermostat was the cause. Our Nest is battery only, he agreed to connect the common power wires as a back up for the battery. We may still need a new thermostat, and he said he could install that too. He also cleaned our filter, which is too high for us to reach, ( we have a washable one.) The price was very reasonable, less than we expected! read more

Modern Air did an excellent job. Professional, on time, and thorough. They explained everything clearly, completed the work efficiently, and treated my home with care. Great service from start to finish -- highly recommend. Thank you Billy! read more

We had a new heat pump installed and not long after we started hearing unusual sounds from it and noticed more-than-expected condensation underneath it. We are more used to traditional AC condenser units so weren't sure if either of these were serious. The installer was willing to come out to check but wanted to charge a very large fee plus an hourly minimum. Called Modern Air for a more reasonable quote and Seth was quick to get us scheduled. Billy came out and after careful examination explained condensation underneath our outdoor heat pump is normal. Our heat pump has 5 speeds so doesn't always make the same noise. No issues. Billy was personable and clearly a subject matter expert. He made some helpful observations of our existing system which will help us better manage and know when to service the unit. Really easy going, no nonsense business. read more

Not One .., Not Two ... BUT THREE TIMES working with this amazing company!!! From the initial no-charge meeting with the estimator to the seamless coordination with the installation coordinator and technicians, this company truly went above and beyond to provide excellent service. They originally quoted a new furnace installation for two of my rental properties. Because the experience was so positive and professional, I ended up adding a third rental property to the queue for a new furnace installation as well. I can't say enough great things about Billy, Seth, and the entire installation team. Their professionalism, communication, and quality of work were outstanding. I highly, highly recommend this company. They offer the best pricing, excellent service, and thorough follow-up. Thank You Modern Air!!! read more

I just really got advice. I will see if it was correct, I came home early to remove a barrier to give the tech Access, but he really didn't open or inspect anything where the water could be coming from. I ended up calling someone else to be honest. There was no re-assurance that it will stop by just changing the filters. Not worth the $110. I paid for 10 minutes. I get alot of info off you tube, and they opened up to inspect the source. Nice guy though, but I didnt have the "Customer Assurance of resolved . Hopefully the next Company opens my furnace and shows me. read more

After 4 decades in HVAC myself I felt I had no choice but to leave a review of Modern air for their install crew at my home in Morgan Hill today. Their team lead Alfredo and his journey man Saul did a fantastic job installing a split system AC system. Their ability to shift when things didn't go perfect was amazing! Their attention to details and even how perfect they ran their piping and drains were like craftsmen level. In my opinion, if you're in Morgan Hill and you need a system, call these guys and you won't be disappointed. They are true craftsmen. read more

Excellent installation and professional crew. Old air conditioning unit quit during the heat wave and Modern Air responded with a quick inspection. The cost to repair was not economical sensible. I received an estimate within a short period and elected to purchase a new unit. read more

I received 4 quotes for a new roof. Louis was the best of the four as he was on time, friendly and full of knowledge. Had my quote by the next day. Everyone he had to help him was also excellent. Ended up needing 2 new chimneys as well. The employees were very neat and did not have loud music playing. I do not have even one complaint. Have him out and he will stand out. Would use him for any job you need. read more

What a great experience. Seth took my initial call and was really informative and easy to work with. We got an appointment set and he said Billy would be coming out to do the work. I got a text and email confirmation for the appointment and Billy arrived during the window of time they stated. Billy was able to pinpoint the issue very easily. He had the replacement part on hand and I had air again in less than 15 minutes. Super smooth working with this company. I would definitely recommend them. read more

Horrible customer service, I'm asking for something very specific. They insisted on selling me something for 110, instead of just giving me the cost of the specific service read more

This company has to be the most ethical and reliable that I have ever dealt with. My thermostat quit working and I decided to get a new thermostat without batteries. Billy discovered there had been a problem with the installation of the thermostat. Since I did not want to fool with replacing batteries he wired the current thermostat to the furnace so no need to have a different thermostat. So charge was less since new thermostat was no longer needed. So good to know that there are still honest, ethical people still providing great service when needed. I highly recommend Modern Aire for your HVAC needs. read more

Billy & his crew installed our new A/C unit this spring. Very helpful, professional & work/price exactly as quoted. No issues with new A/C unit this summer. read more

I can recommend Modern Air. I have an LG mini-split system. They came out last year when my A/C was struggling. They found a leak, replaced a couple valves and purged the entire system. Wasn't cheap. The valves alone were $1K. The new refrigerant cost $1,600, not including labor. But they were competent and professional with great communication and service. Would definitely call them again! read more

Very Detailed Maintenance Program for $15 month. Billy did a great job inspecting my Furnace giving me any options and pricing immediately. We found a switch that could go within 6 months, Showed me the Specs. I decided to replace for $87. No Pressures. read more

On the first day of hot weather this season, our A/C failed. Billy from Modern Air came to our house and diagnosed the problems. One was a burnt fuse in the furnace, and the other was an outdoor wiring failure (due to rodent chewing!). The work was straightforward and Billy completed it for a total of only $225. Amazing! Thank you Modern Air for your professionalism and friendliness! read more

The technician that visited us seems very trustworthy and shared great advice on our AC/heating system. Wish it was a little less expensive for a general check up, but felt we got good overall service. read more

Billy from Modern Air was incredibly professional, on time, and was wonderful to work with on getting some proposals for our HVAC project. He outlined several solutions and was quick to reply to my inquiries and took the time to go over the options. We did not end up going forward with his proposal but I would absolutely not hesitate to recommend him and to contact him again in the future, I'm sure his work would have been outstanding. read more

We are very happy with our new heat pump systems from Modern Air. We purchased two new systems for our separate upstairs and downstairs zones. Alfredo was the lead tech on the installation and expertly managed the project with Isaac and Israel assisting. The installation went very smoothly and communication during the project could not have been better. I would highly recommend Modern Air for both installation and ongoing service. We have been a very happy customer for over five years and couldn't be happier with our new systems. A special shout out for Alfredo is in order. He went above and beyond at every step of the project exceeding our expectations by a wide margin. Thank you Modern Air! read more

fast response, dependable, reasonable, friendly, also love supporting local businesses in Morgan Hill

After shivering for weeks, meeting Billy from Modern Air was nothing short of a huge relief! We were pleased to find this company that was able to diagnose and repair our heat pump system quickly. The problem we were dealing with wasn't cheap to fix, so we also appreciated the waiving of the diagnostic fee after a certain threshold was reached. read more

I called Modern Air during the heat wave because my AC system was running weak and the gentleman on the phone let me know that they were extremely busy and would not be able to see me for a few days. I explained to him the problem and he told me my filters probably needed to be cleaned. He told me the charges if I really needed someone to look at my system, but encouraged me to check my filters. Well, when I checked, my filters were extremely clogged and there was no air flow. Because of their honesty, I give them five stars! read more

Fantastic service. During a heat wave my HVAC system stopped working. They were able to come out same day and diagnose and fix the capacitor and we were back up and running within minutes. read more

Decided it was finally time to do some cleaning / maintenance of my HVAC after not touching it in over 6 years. Modern Air was great. Frequent communication via Yelp and then text. Billy arrived on time and was very nice, professional and knowledgable. Great experience overall, would deifnitely contact Modern Air again. Also appreciated that Billy pointed out some risks / improvements that could be made with my current setup, but wasn't pushy. Just explained in easy-to-understand detail so that I could make an informed choice. read more

"You need to recommend this guy to everyone. He needs some lemonade or something. He is a unicorn." -my best friend in commercial HVAC after I told her about my experience with Andrew from Modern Air. I called on a Friday afternoon at 3:13 pm when it had cooled off to 96 and my HVAC broke with a baby, a sick toddler, and a grandma in the house. My AC was fixed and running within 45 minutes. Better than I could have ever dreamed. Truly a unicorn! read more

What a great group of people. We are remodeling part of our house and took the opportunity to remove old asbestos lined ducts and replace them with new ducting. We also wanted to increase the size of our air return. Billy was very quick to respond to my request for a quote, which was competitive. Billy explained the project, how he would approach it, and was flexible regarding location of ducting and vents. He also worked to schedule the project for when we would be away for a few days, to avoid the heat being off when we were home. He was responsive by text and phone and we even edited the scope of the project quickly by text. Very pleasant experience. Seth and his team showed up on time and finished the project on time. There were a couple issues to tidy up and Seth returned twice without hesitation. Our system now blows more air and hotter air just like Billy produced. I strongly recommend Modern Air! read more

These guys are awesome! I've used Modern Air for the past several years and I couldn't be happier. They are professional, always on time, and very reasonable with their pricing. They have even been out to check the system WITHOUT charging me a cent. What other company does that? They will tell you exactly what's happening with your system and what needs to be done to correct it. They will advise you on what steps to take throughout the year to guarantee that your system runs at peak performance. I will only call Modern Air in the future because I know Andrew will answer the phone and I will only get what I need done on my system. read more

Billy from modern air was very responsive to our needs. The service fee of $110 is good for six months. Modern Air did an excellent job on our out dated heater trying above and beyond to locate a control board for the heater that had been Frankensteined by a prior contractor.
