Had been a customer of a "top-rated" (according to Google and Yelp! reviews) HVAC company in the South Bay Area, who had replaced our central air conditioning in 2016. But, my wife and I have been disappointed by their service levels over the past few years - slow to return calls, very long queue to get a technician on-site, etc., despite having been a long-term client. So, when our central heating went out, I searched for alternatives and saw the glowing reviews for Air Sharks. Rolled the dice, called, set up an appointment for a technician to come check things out. Air Sharks assigned Xander, who arrived on time and was very professional, courteous and efficient. Xander carefully and thoroughly explained our options for repairing the ancient system and my wife and I determined that it was not worth it. From there, Xander pointed out that the installation of our old unit (in a dedicated HVAC closet) was not correctly installed, which likely is be the reason that our air conditioning unit was so ineffective during hotter weather (95+). Long story short, Xander explained our options for replacement before referring us to Elizabeth, Sales Supervisor and set us up with an appointment. Like Xander, Elizabeth was equally professional, courteous and efficient. The entire process was mapped out clearly and Elizabeth answered all of our questions in a timely manner. The installation crew arrived on time and were very accommodating to our schedule. The install did run a day longer than scheduled, but this was not a big deal since the crew chief always gave us an update at the end of each day, so we knew what to expect and what had been completed. Also, we had requested that our install be moved from the HVAC closet to the attic, which we were told might take a little longer before we signed the agreement. We have not had enough inclement weather to say how well things work but, based on the experience from initial service all to completed install, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Air Sharks. Replacing an HVAC unit is not cheap but Air Sharks gave us a more than fair price and the level of service across the board (from phone/email support, sales and the in-site crew) was top notch. Also, our experience with Air Sharks has us feeling very confident in long term support and that Air Sharks will stand behind their installation and the products they sell. Air Sharks is super communicative (phone and email) during the process and their follow up post-installation has been very good. I will not hesitate to recommend Air Sharks to our neighbors and anyone else looking for an HVAC specialist. Air Sharks is the best HVAC company we have so far. We became their member since summer 2023 and had both our AC and Heaters replaced by them that year. Since that, their technicians have come to do inspections twice a year to check out the AC and Heater alternatively. This year, they even included the Water Heater. Kevin B. is this year's technician. He did a thorough checkup and spent almost 3 hours testing inside and outside including the crawl space. He took a lot of pics and showed us the summary and the photos at the end of the inspection and via e-mail. We are very pleased with his inspection. Only one tip for Kevin: Be careful when he checked the Water Heater. This time, for some reason, he must have accidentally touched something, the blue status bottom on the lower part of the Water Heater stopped blinking and caused our hot water to stop heating. We called your office to have another technician fixed it two days later. Other than that, everything went smoothly and we appreciate your work. We will continue to use your services and are willing to reniew our membership for another year! Recently Air Sharks completed the replacement of my old AC unit and furnace with Daikin heat pump AC/Heat unit, I am really impressed with their work so I thought I share my experience here. Some time ago I was working with another energy company but they were slow and slow. I always had to chase them down for updates and next steps. Finally I got fed up so I called Air Sharks for a quote because I have seen their work trucks in my neighborhood. Rudy Zapien from Air Sharks came, I knew what I wanted so so Rudy prepared the quote on the spot. Since Air Sharks handles all the permit requirements and the rebate application, plus very nice warranty on the unit, so I signed contract on the spot. Then came the installation team, Danny and 1 other guy came and completed the job in 3 days. Their work was neat, professional, and clean, clean, clean (see the pictures). Rene came by with a competitive estimate and was very friendly and straightforward without any high pressure sales tactics. The crew was professional and friendly - the primary technician Ubaldo was very knowledgeable and performed a very clean and professional installation. Post installation, Air Sharks arranged all the necessary inspections and helped with local rebates. They also included a year of their service plan which includes some check ups where a technician comes by and performs an inspection and change filters as necessary. In a recent check up, the technician Xander was very friendly and addressed any concerns I had. Their quoted price for a replacement filter was a little pricey but they had no problem with me instead procuring filters on my own and using those for replacement. While our rebate estimates ranged from $2,000 to $5,000, the actual rebate came in at exactly the amount Rudy had predicted. Once we made our decision, the installation process exceeded our expectations even further. We were given a two-hour arrival window and were promptly notified when the installers were in transit. Rodrigo and Elias showed up on time, and their professionalism, courtesy, and joyful demeanor made them a pleasure to have around. The quality of their work was truly remarkable. They did a nice job overall with replacing our ducting and were very professional in their communication and work overall but after they finished the ducting there were holes in our ceiling for several weeks while we waited for someone to come and patch the drywall. They eventually came and did it and even helped us clean up when we had a leak in our basement but there just was a lack of communication for a while as we waited for them to come back. It sounds like their drywall person was maybe out sick but we had to keep reaching out to them to figure out what was going on and it took a while to get it done. read more
