I saw the great reviews on Yelp and decided to book Tony's Moving to help us unload a 16ft storage pod into our new house. Pretty straightforward job, I sent them a list of our furniture plus pics of the pod when we packed it to give them an idea of how much stuff we had. They sent a quote which seemed really high but I figured it was the amount of stuff we had plus they said they'd send 3 guys so I booked it anyways. My fault for not shopping it around. Communication was a little unorganized, I suggest contacting them directly instead of through Yelp. On the day of the move they showed up early and helped us move our stuff out of the pod and into a 3 story house. They worked pretty quickly and were done in 2 hours. It was just a matter of telling them where we wanted the items. There was one item (a vintage console stereo) that we asked them to be careful with. They first tried to tip it on its end to put on a dolly and I discouraged that. Then they turned it upside down to bring it down the stairs which caused the turntable to fall out. Luckily it still worked. They did seem to complain that we had a lot of heavy stuff. Also, in the end I didn't realize I had to tip on top of the expensive flat rate so that added another $100 to the job. I suppose it just doesn't sit right with me that I'm paying a company quite a bit of money for 2 hours of work and then have to tip on top of that despite it only being man power. No packing, no moving to a separate location. I hope these workers are getting more than minimum wage plus my tip because they're doing all the work. I guess if I had to do it again I'd hire a couple workers and pay them a couple hundred each instead of going through a company. read more

Incredibly pleased with our experience with Tony's Moving. We scheduled a 9 am start time and they worked SO hard the entire time in 90+ degree weather!!! They were careful with our things, on task, and very polite. Definitely recommend movers to have extra boxes on hand for last minute things and a toolbox for disassembling/assembling large pieces of furniture, even though they have their own things. Jon and his team, Sabastin, Jose and Juan were very professional. They showed up early and got to work. Normally, I am the one picking up boxes and moving them with every movers I have hired...but they told me they had it handled. All items were packed and wrapped well and swiftly. Very professional. The only negative is they didn't gather the boxes not used and left them at the first location, instead of disposing of them. The rates were great, too. I provided them lunch and drinks as courtesy. I was really happy with the moving company from start to finish from the beginning, Sera Choi a representative came to the house even during Covid following all Covid protocols and walked through my house to give me an exact quote which at that time many movers were not willing to do. In addition the quote was binding and accurate and they even provided some free boxes for me during the move. The team showed up on time, was amazingly fast and efficient, took no breaks had the truck loaded and on the road in about four hours. When arrived at the new place they were already there and they were equally as efficient setting up things. Took all packing materials from both places and left the places clean. They did a great job reassembling the furniture they broke down for the move.They were also very nice people to work with( the moving guys). Jina was our Senior Relocation Specialist. She was so sweet and quickly came through our house to survey the quantity of items and provide a very competitive price. Not only are they competitive with pricing but they also brought us a little gift (an embroidered small towel) which I thought was a cute marketing touch. We placed our deposit online and we were all set for moving day. A couple of days before moving day, I received confirmation texts which made me feel confident all was in line. On moving day, the crew was came ready and were so fast! The disassembled all furniture, wrapped what needed to be wrapped and were so efficient with their time. They got everything done within a couple of hours. We really loved the crew. In our new home, they were very careful with our items and listened to all the instructions of where our stuff went. Scott and Team (Scott's Team, Chevy 20 Ft) !!BTW Scott is a just a Nickname among themselves. It can change anytime! but same person!! showed up on moving day and the building manager asked for the Masonite board that confirmed by Tony's to protect the building then Scott said they don't have it. He turned around drove away right in front us with evil smirk on the face without any explanation. (Perhaps he realized it was impossible to haggle the surprise Masonite cash scheme and pocketing the extra cash in front of trained building management team-although the Masonite board was guaranteed by Tony's; so that action was pretty much a mid-finger at all of us that morning) Porters, front-desk, manager all who prepare the move witness the scene and couldn't believe that actually happened. I even chased the truck on foot just to get some answers. After many phone calls to Tony's, a backup team came 2 hours later. Anyway we couldn't move in to the new place because of the morning delay by Scott and his team and had to spend weekend at hotel. Did this company move me? Yes. Was it smooth? No. I had quite a few things broken ( 3-5) or damaged because of this move. Essentially things with sharp edges or corners were often dented or rammed into walls accidentally. I think the thing that stood out to me the most was the lack of experience of the team- I've moved seven times and in my experience they tend to take the larger items last ( bed, couch etc ) so that they are the first things off the truck. It just makes everything happen faster and smoother. But this team was more so concerned about doing things quickly versus correctly. The other factors were the fact that the team was late to both locations. 30 minutes late to the 1st apartment, which was fine. But we went over the lot of time for the second apartment because they arrived 2 hours late. Outside of this, the team was very nice super cordial very hard-working and tried their best. read more

I have moved 10 times in the last 13 years in NYC and I have never worked with such an incredible team of movers. First, Christine in the office was super attentive and followed up with me every step of the way. The quote was by far the most affordable and competitive (it's worth noting that I reached out to 27 different moving companies). The movers arrived exactly on time and they were very polite and super efficient. They had everything moved out of our 3rd floor walk up within an hour! They also wrapped all of our furniture to keep it safe and took extreme caution with everything. When we got to our new place, they had everything unloaded in no time. The total move took less than 3 hours (with an hour commute!). I also had a hard time deciding which way I wanted to orient our bed, and they took the time to move it two different ways to see what I liked best. I am currently in the process of moving cross country from Downtown Manhattan to the Bay Area in California. I've used Tony's several times before with above-average experiences. I'm a little concerned about the cross country aspect of it all, as they are planning to put my things in storage for a few days before moving them all here. I've asked if they could come directly from the apartment to here, but they said no. I have computers, high end speakers, handbags and other valuables with them. Their truck was clean and perfect for the job at hand. The three men that did the move were experienced hard workers. It was a tricky move out of a 2 story old house. The men were very neat and clean and courteous. Everything was wrapped in plastic and moving blankets. Nothing was damaged even the challenging bedroom set they moved from a 2nd story. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this company and the guys who moved me. On the day of my move, I get a call from my new apartment building that I only have the service elevator reserved from 9am-11am and that someone else has it starting at 11. The guys show up at my old apartment exactly at 9am and I give them the bad news that we only have 2 hrs to move everything out and back in to the new place. All three of them spring into action and start moving FAST. Even though they're working fast, they're still being very careful with my things and not cutting any corners with wrapping the furniture. Tony's Moving is hands down the best moving company I have ever used. I have moved every year for the past 8 years and have used movers on multiple occasions. I was moving from New Jersey to Maryland and was getting quotes that were over $3,000. I initially booked another company that turned out to be scammers and I feel so lucky that I cancelled them in time. I was nervous because after cancelling those scammers, I had less than 1 week to find movers for an inter-state move. I also needed to move on August 1, which was a Saturday during moving's busiest season, so everywhere was completely booked. I was losing all hope when I found Tony's Moving. Even though they mainly service the NJ area, they were flexible and said they could accommodate my move to Maryland. I spoke directly with Tony who gave me a more than fair quote and he was super responsive the entire time I was planning my move. I was moving from a 1 bedroom to another 1 bedroom and the quote was around $1700 plus tolls to move all the way to Maryland. This was literally half the price that other companies were quoting me. On the day of the move, the movers came around 10 minutes early which was perfect for me because I always choose being early over being late. For my move, there were 3 movers and wow, they were the most efficient movers I have ever seen! They had completely moved out all of my belongings within 45 minutes of arriving! And I had a lot of stuff, so this includes them wrapping up things like my 55" flat screen tv, sofa, etc. Even though they were fast, they were also very careful with all of my belongings to they didn't get damaged. The drive to Maryland is usually a little over 3 hours. I left right after the movers did and I was so impressed that they arrived at my new apartment within 5 minutes of my arrival. They started unloading the truck right away. At my new apartment, the previous tenant had left several items behind, one being a giant desk that took up half the room. I asked the movers if they could take this desk out and they were so nice enough to take my door off of its hinges to fit it through. Even including this, they were able to unload everything and move in my belongings in about 30 minutes. None of my belongings were damaged and everything arrived in perfect condition. They relieved SO much of the stress that I normally deal with when moving. Even though I was moving from New Jersey to Maryland, we were completely finished by 1pm and the whole process took less than 5 hours (and over 3 of those hours were us driving down). This was also during the peak of the pandemic and they were very respectful and wore their masks the entire time even though it was August and 95 degrees outside. I can't say enough good things about the experience I had because my movers worked so hard, were so efficient, and made my interstate move so easy. My boyfriend was with me to help with the move and he was also so impressed with Tony's Moving that he wants to hire them when he next moves. Because they did such a good job, I tipped the movers generously, and I still ended up saving a lot of money by using Tony's. I honestly would have paid $1,000 more for the service I received from Tony's Moving. I would 100% recommend them. read more

We hired Tony's moving twice now (for a move from PA to central NJ and then from central NJ to northern NJ), and both experiences were absolutely perfect. They have very transparent pricing and actually have someone come to your house to take inventory so that there are no surprises and up charges! I've had other moving companies charge me for every extra box, and others that have charged me hundreds extra on the spot for small items I missed in my inventory.
