What a gem! An absolute gem! I love this place. Everything I've ordered--and I've tried quite a variety--is delicious. The meat is SO tender and perfectly seasoned. It's like they have someone's grandmother tied up in the back whipping up the food. It's fabulous. You'd never think it, seeing the humble location, but WOW. Go there or order NOW. My boyfriend, who's a super finicky Gringo, loves it. I'm a seasoned world eater, and this is just terrific. Totally worth it! read more

This place is delicious! At first my wife and I were hesitant to try it because it is in such a random location. However, I am so glad that we did! One of the best chicken kebab's I have ever had. The spices they use are the perfect blend and the chicken itself is cooked perfectly. The bean salad is my new favorite side and my wife loves the yogurt dip. Please give this place a try.. they do no disappoint! read more

Probably the greatest kabob place in Burbank .. good customer service and very good food. I highly recommend.

This place is amazing! The food is great and the service is exceptional! I have been there many times and not once have I been disappointed. AND THEY ALSO DELIVER! But not like all the other places in the area where orders are horribly screwed up or hours late. I can not say enough great things about Tonir, these people really care about their restaurant and customers. Margaret will always greet you with a friendly smile and excellent customer service. Thank you guys for all the wonderful meals! I recommend this place to everyone! read more

My first visit to Tonir Café was with a group of 8 for lunch. The service was very good; prompt and our waitress gave simple but complete explanations when asked about items on the menu. Casual and comfortable environment. There was a large TV near us but the volume was kept low so that conversation was easy. Everyone's food was well prepared and tasty. I enjoyed my meal and our group consensus was that we'd be back. Prices are very reasonable - a good value. read more

My review is long over due. This place is really, really good. I always get the chicken kabob plate with hummus and cucumber yogurt. I also love their jalapeno hummus, very tasty and a good kick. I've also had the beef kabob, delicious, and been to parties where they have catered. Again, the food was amazing. I need to go back soon. read more

Average. Location and interior is horrible. Note the number of 5 star review from people with no yelp friends. Fishy to say the least.

My girlfriend tried the chicken and beef plate with salad instead of rice and everything was perfectly prepared, well-seasoned, and very tasty. I had a side of fries, they were perfect. I hope to be back next time I'm in this part of town. read more

Great food! Delivery service was early . I would definitely would eat from Tonir Cafe again.

I've been expanding my search for good lunch spots in Burbank and I came across Tonir Cafe, an absolute hole in the wall...despite actually being kind of big. Tonir gets its hole in the wall status for being pretty much in the middle of nowhere. Tonir Cafe offers your average Mediterranean/ Middle Eastern fare with more than above average flavor and value. I have been here twice now, once ordering the Chicken Breaks Kabob and another ordering the Beef and Chicken Lule combo. Both items were well seasoned and prepared. My favorite part of the meal was that you were able to choose and constomize most of the entire meal. First off you have a choice between a greek salad or white rice and then a choice of any of the two sides. I have opted thus far for rice, grape leaves and hummus (which comes with pita bread). Portions were very generous and overall turns into a very good deal for a hearty lunch. Meal prices range from $6 to $12. Very recommended. read more

On a recent (July 5th) trip to LA our party of three found ourselves near the Burbank airport after 9pm with not many eat out options. How lucky were we to find Tonir Cafe on Yelp! We've eaten at dozens and dozens of Armenian / Middle-Eastern restaurants all over California, plus we live in Fresno and there're a lot of them here as well - and Tonir is definitely in top 3 of all time. We ordered Beef Kabob plate (with the grilled tomato and pepper over rice), Chicken & Beef Lula combo plate (with the grape leaves and hummus with fries) and Chicken & Pork Kabob plate (with the tomato and the eggplant "ikra" with fries). Every one of the meats looked really appetizing on the outside, seasoned very nicely and cooked "to perfection" - moist and juicy inside. Even when we were full - and the portions were large for the price, we think - we kept reaching back for "just one more bite". Whatever they put in their meat is quite addictive! The sliced onions over the meat provided another texture and a little bit of "bite". The sides were great: the pepper and the tomato were nicely charred in a few spots, the skin soft but not mushy; the hummus had slightly lemony flavour, and had just the right consistency (we don't like it when restaurants put olive oil over the hummus, because usually it means it's too thick to eat without mixing in the oil yourself) and it was sprinkled with paprika for extra flavour (we think...? it was coarse, like crushed red peppers, but not as spicy); the eggplant spread had a nice smoky finish; the fries were on the right side of "seasoned, but not too salty". The pita bread could have been both thicker and warmer, though. The service was prompt - we were the only ones in the restaurant - and we didn't feel either overly watched or ignored: the server showed up a few times to check in on us. Oh, and they stayed open well past their closing just so we could finish dinner in no hurry! One of us also had a cute, tiny, tasty cupful of Armenian coffee, which kept him well awake for the 3+ hour trip back to Fresno late at night. Value for the price, the service and the food will definitely have us coming back whenever we're in town! And check out their bathroom - painted teal, with granite halfway-up the walls, and a designer vessel sink. Oh, and yes, the chairs in the dining room are painted gold, and there's a little stage area with a keyboard and a microphone. Makes one wonder what goes on there on some nights! read more

Yes! This place is a winner. Jalapeño humus. $6.75 and I'm completely satisfied. This is my happy face :-)

The food here is great. Had their lamb shanks and it was definitely wonderful. We were a group, and I was stunned that they didn't split the bill! I guess that would be my only recommendation to the restaurant; to be more flexible with payments. Especially when you are there with coworkers. read more

It's a hole in the wall that my nav system had a hard time finding. The place was empty and looked like a dive bar that hadn't been updated in 20 years, and it's in a kinda industrial area. I had to grab myself a menu and they didn't seem too eager to serve me, plus it took them awhile to cook my order. I really thought the reviews had led me astray, and then I got in my car and the aroma from my to go order turned me into Pavlov's dog. I'm not sure whether to call it Greek or Armenian, but frankly I don't care because it was ridiculously delicious. The chicken kabob was moist and both lule's were perfect, but the undeniable star was the lamb ribs and lamb chops, neither of which would have been out of place at a much higher end place, plus they deliver. I can't recommend them enough, truly a cut above the competition by a wide margin. read more
