Pork Xiaolongbao

Dramatic improvement over China Pavilion. The menu is much simpler and updated with more contemporary dishes, and the dumplings are the standouts! Everything we got from takeout was good, even the orange chicken, which reminds me of way ack orange chicken with the tempura batter, like sweet and sour pork. Love it and will definitely be getting it again. Ambiance is pretty basic and even stripped down from China Pavilion. But they still have the comfy booths and easy takeout/host table.

9/20/26: Garlic green beans- my favorite of all the dishes we got!! Sooooo yummy!!

Sunday, 9/20/26: Have been seeing several others posts about it on Facebook and Nextdoor, so wanted to go try it for lunch today. I thought it was a full blown dim sum place with carts roaming around, but it's not. They don't have my favorite dim sum dish on the menu, which is the shrimp rolled in the white rice noodle thing with sweet soy sauce. The food was still delicious. They're open M-F 11a-9p. Garlic green beans was my favorite dish. Walnut prawns was a bit soggy, I think they used too much sauce. Will ask for it on The side next time. The orange chicken was perfect and crisp, better than Panda Express! Will get it again! Beef fried rice was good, too. My family ordered pork siu mai and other pork and crab xlb, but I don't eat pork, so I didn't eat any. However, they devoured all the pork stuff first that came in the bamboo trays. Those were the first to go. Like the person below me, we also had to ask for chopsticks for our table. They were attentive and kept checking on us, also refilled our waters. Didn't need to wait long for the food to come out as there were only a few other groups there for a Sunday.

Cucumber salad

It's a decent sized restaurant larger than Dublin's 88 Bao Bao with plentiful parking. Tesla chargers are practically in front of the restaurant with EVgo's chargers in another section of the plaza's parking lot. The restaurant boasts cushioned seating that should be comfortable regardless of if you're in a booth or at a table. I was at a booth but the chair cushions looked well padded. The decor isn't fancy but is serviceable. They also have another separate room. The service was interesting with one waitress primarily taking orders, bringing food to the tables and handling water refills. At the start, a plate with napkin and fork was brought over. I had to specifically ask for chopsticks. Occasionally food was brought out to patrons by someone else. Some menu items were unavailable and the waitress offered alternative suggestions. The pork xlb had soft skin and meat with juice. I'd describe the texture in between that of M Dumpling and 88 Bao Bao. Cucumber salad was non spicy. Pan fried pork and corn dumplings were a bit disappointing as despite the pan frying it wasn't crisp.

Crab and pork XLB, shrimp dumplings (har gow style), spicy beef noodle soup, chive pockets (already finished one), and cucumber salad

The prices are a bit high for my liking, but maybe this is a norm out here in Livermore. We ordered 3 items: Combo fried rice, Orange Chicken, and Chicken Corn Soup. Spent about $50. The food would have been only enough for 2 people. Food was good, soup was a bit salty and had a bit too much cornstarch. Orange chicken was delicious, I would go back for this anytime. The fried rice was okay, a little too dry, but not too bad. Overall the food was good and service was quick. We didn't wait too long for our order.

I think the combo i choose was $26/pp. In the combo it comes with two entrees, i got mongolian beef and replaced the kung pao chicken with sweet and sour pork, it also came with the soup of the day, fried rice or chow mien, and fried prawns & pot stickers. Yummy and perfect for 2 people! They also have extra add ons if you have 3 or more. Everything was delicious, i enjoyed all the onions and peppers in the beef and the sweet and sour pork was also notable in this meal. The fried prawns i wish the batter was a bit seasoned but the sauce helps. The service was great, we came a little before closing so we were like 2 out of maybe 10 people in the restaurant. The ambience was bright like traditional canton restaurants as well as booths and regular seating. I revisted this place for a lunch special later down the week and it was still great! Definitely returning, I suggest you stop by and visit :)

Unfortunately, from the moment we walked in, the hostess was extremely rude, cold, and dismissive. Every question was met with attitude, and the way we were treated made us feel very unwelcome. As a family of a different nationality, I couldn't help but wonder whether that played a role. When I asked to speak with the manager, hoping she would address the situation, she was immediately defensive and completely dismissed my concerns. Sadly, the poor treatment continued with the rest of the staff. I kept giving them chances, thinking the next interaction would be better, but it wasn't. To top it off, the food was nowhere near the quality we remembered--it was mediocre at best. We came in excited to share a restaurant we had previously enjoyed with our family and left feeling unwelcome, disrespected, and extremely disappointed. After being repeat customers, this experience has completely changed how we feel about Uncle Yu's.

I enjoyed my meal at this Cantonese spot in Dublin…read more I stopped by for dinner with a friend on a Tuesday evening around 5 pm and it wasn't too crowded. My friend got the hot HK milk tea ($4.95). I tried a sip and it was delicious with the perfect blend of tea, condensed milk, and sugar. The menu selection is decent, with plenty of options for noodles and rice and a smaller selection of meat dishes. They also serve congee and chang fun / rice noodle rolls as well as Cantonese bbq meats. We shared two dishes: #12 salt and pepper tofu ($8.95) #47 braised egg tofu beef cube ($25.95) Both the tofu and beef were delicious. The tofu was fried perfectly and had the right amount of seasoning. The beef cubes were super tender and I appreciated all the veggies that it came with, in addition to the egg tofu. I paired both with a bowl for rice for an extra $2.50. Portions were large for both items and we ended up taking some leftovers home. They heated up well the next day for lunch!

Didn't realize they had a change of ownership and name a few years back so wanted to check them out. Not gourmet but hearty, tasty food. Dated deco and dining room seems cramped and claustrophobic despite all the windows. The black and red color scheme probably contributes a lot to that. Giving hole-in-the-wall Chinatown vibes but cleaned up for the 'burbs. So far, faves include congee with 1,000 year egg&pork and roast duck over rice. Cube steak with assorted mushrooms is beef tenderloin. Good but the seasoning is sweetish, just added a little salt to fix this. Also there was a mixup on my latest takeout order. Don't know if it was a miscommunication or I pointed to the wrong tofu dish my mistake. I wanted the mixed veggies with tofu. I got baby bok choy with goji berry/bean curd sauce. One dish not to my taste isn't going to deter me. The yummy duck and congee has me excited to return and explore more of the menu.

We've fallen in love with this place since someone recommended them to us for their Salt and Pepper…read morePrawns. We love that they have Szechuan cuisine as well as American Chinese, and it's not too salty, too oily, or too bland. The spicy dishes we've been getting our excellent. And while they don't have a traditional twice cooked pork, they do have excellent cumin lamb/beef and dry-spiced chicken! Next we plan to try the Dan Dan noodles and mapo tofu. The man who answers the phone is always really nice and helpful when I call in an order, and has helpful advice and suggestions, like when I accidentally order all spicy dishes (and I'm feeding kids always) or if I just ask (do you have something with this and this?). I love how friendly and helpful they are here! They have a dedicated easy to access parking lot which I love over downtown places, and the interior looks nice and comfy although I've only ever done takeout. Everything is always hot and fresh, we've never had anything taste stale or old like Peking did in the end on Las Positas. The wonton soup also was delicious on last visit! Plenty of flavor but not too much oil, and my kids loved the broth. I was excited to learn you can swap in almost any entrees you want for the family meal, making it a good deal! I especially love the whiteboard menu of specials at the door. This is how our old favorite restaurant back home always did it, and I'm now taking it to mean the mark of a good restaurant. Try something off that menu, it's got the best dishes!

FOOD - Cucumber Salad - Shumai - Pork XLB - Chili Wontons We ordered these four items along with drinks, and everything was DELICIOUS. The quality is evident, as they prepare everything in-house, steaming and cooking each dish to order. The staff were very friendly, and the kitchen was busy with many people cooking and prepping. My FAV was the shumai. These were juicy and so flavorful. I look forward to returning to try more menu items!

Smaller restaurant, maybe 10-14 total tables. Light decor. With a see through window into the kitchen. When you enter you are pointed to a table. We ordered the following: Popcorn chicken Crab and pork xiao long bao (8) Lo mein Pan fried pork buns (4) Popcorn chicken doesn't feel like they skimp and have good size chunks of chicken. Feels like Taiwanese fried chicken from your local boba shop. Xiao long bao was the star of the order, solid soup dumplings with great filling and broth. Pan fried pork buns, second favorite dish. Similiar as in a broth on the interior but purely pork. The bun is more of a softer bread you would get in like siopao in Filipino dishes. Quick service, food comes out quick, and plenty of portions that we eventually take home left overs. Staff is friendly and quick to clear tables. Highly recommend to stop by.
