Danish Pancakes - ricotta, parmesan, lemon zest and blueberries. Fluffy and delicious. Served with specialty whipped butters.

Charming old fashioned diner with delicious food, fast service, and decent prices for 2026! My husband had a cheeseburger which was delicious and quite large. I had the Dutch Pancakes that were served with whipped strawberry, pumpkin, and cinnamon butter. The pancakes were ultra fluffy. The menu says they are "famous" pancakes and I would not doubt it! We went after a visit to the Brooklyn Museum. A 7 minute walk. Highly recommend!

Came here with the family on a summer Saturday afternoon and sat in the covered patio extension. It had an old school, old eclectic diner feel, with Christmas decorations still up where we sat. That gave us pause, but we were sat right away in the middle of lunchtime in a full house, so we felt fortunate - and we were famished! Service was quick, efficient and polite! We ordered the BLT, Cinnamon Roll Pancakes and 2 and 2 egg, sausage and pancakes combo. Everything was delicious and perfectly cooked. My son didn't put syrup on his cinnamon roll pancakes, which is almost unheard of but always a good sign. The BLT was loaded with bacon, and the sausage was thick and flavorful. Would definitely recommend and will be back. It cost about $20 per person just FYI and is CASH ONLY.

Great food and service! The waiter was super nice and the ambience was cozy. We found parking easily. Would definitely go again!

A true community staple and the recipe is simple: at home like service, amazing food, large portion sizes and FAST!! That's what Tom's is. No gimmicks, no influencers. Straight to the point FOOD. Cash only but there's an atm on site. I loved the cherry mix. I got the chocolate cake French toast yummy. Home fries, omelet, bacon. Classic mixed with razzle dazzle. Waiters work together as a true team. There was no line when we went mid morning on a Wednesday. Great for families, singles, EVERYONE

Cash only. Quick service. Friendly staff. Delish food. I had to make this review quick and simple because that's what you'll experience at this restaurant. The menu is simple with a lot of typical breakfast food options. The food comes out soo quick and fresh. There's an atm at the restaurant also.

Mushroom Omelette and side turkey sausage split down

This review is for take-out. I ordered a mushroom and cheese omelette with home fries and turkey sausage on the side. They gave only one sausage split down the middle and for 8$... I can walk to the grocery store and get a whole pack of sausages for that price. Everything was severely under-seasoned and dry. And the home fries had a strange chemical aftertaste. I'm pretty saddened by my delivery experience since I've gone in person and had their sweet potato pancakes and was blown away by how moist and fluffy they were. Maybe their sweet breakfast items are better than their savory dishes.

A solid diner with very generous portions in Brooklyn. We made the mistake of both ordering an eggs dish + french toast/pancakes, and were stunned to see so much food come out and weren't getting close to finish. Food was decent; the scrambled eggs came out more like a omelet (??) and fries tasted frozen but the pork sausage was pretty good. French toast I felt wasn't particularly special and even if I wasn't already so full likely wouldn't get it again. Great value for the meal, but compared to other diners I've been around the city not my personal favorite - still a super vibey place and will likely come back. BTW - cash only

Huevos Rancheros, Cinnamon Roll Pancakes, Bacon

Place is very old school, cash only and unassuming. The menu is pretty big with lots of options for breakfast or lunch. I was a bit hungover and was feeling ravenous, thus I ordered two dishes. I've had better huevos rancheros honestly, and should've opted for one of their omelette as instead. The pancakes and bacon were excellent and hit the spot. Service was chill and polite. Will definitely come back and try some of their lunch items next time.

    BBQ Burger

In NY visiting my favorite person and she suggested this place for breakfast. This is the definition of a mom and pop spot. Very small inside but the food slapping. They have a bit of outdoor space as well but it was a soggy Saturday so we opted for inside. It was packed, I would say no more than 25ppl capacity, but surprisingly we waited less than 15mins for seating for 3. At noon on a Saturday you can't ask for more than that. We had: My friend - streusel pancakes - 10/10 the minute I bit into this pancake I realized I made the wrong choice. The pancake was light and sweet even without syrup. Me - BBQ blue burger - 7/10 - it was juicy and the size was worth the price for sure. I give it a 7/10 because it wasn't a meal and the burger could've been seasoned better. You only get the burger but can add lettuce, tomato and fries for an additional $6. We both had some lemonade mix, I wish I could but they were both good, not overly sweet but refreshing. I'd def come back and try their lemon pancakes, the description for these sounded divine.

Just your neighborhood restaurant with some down home cooking. I wanted to come on here and shoutout the exceptional customer service. Although the food was good, the cherry on top was the host and server.

I had always wanted to try Tom's. Not the one in Coney Island, but this one, here in Prospect Heights! The vibe is very old school, 1960's greasy spoon, with letterboard signs and a long breakfast bar countertop. There are tables for sitting at as well, in case you plan on having a group of people dining in. The food has an old school taste to it as well. Humongous pancakes that are fluffy and full of that flavor that only a greasy spoon can create. Two is the perfect amount. Three might work, but after that you are asking to be put in a food coma. The bacon (I got turkey) is thick and juicy and plentiful. I enjoyed this more than I thought I would. The eggs are a bit runny but taste good as well. Pretty hard to screw up eggs, but I have been to restaurants where they have, so never say never. The rest of the menu items look completely satiable. Pricey, but I could eat the whole menu if not for the fact I am not made of money and am mortal, just like the rest of you (sorry if I offended the robots). Now if only they took credit cards, I would be here almost every weekend (disregarding it takes two trains for me to get here). Tables also go fast, and they close early, so come early or during an off time. Your stomach will be thankful.

We love diners! I found this one in a search and we walked almost 2 miles to get here and it was worth it! The greeter was super nice, we were able to seat ourselves in a booth in the back and the decor is what you'd expect in a diner that's been been around since 1939 -- funky and interesting. Nice size menu but not overwhelming. I had two eggs over easy, sausage and an English muffin... My husband had the pancake and scrambled eggs and sausage aka "the 2 x 2 x 2. " My coffee was perfect! And you can get it with cream or milk. They also brought us a plate of lightly spread peanut butter and honey toast to gnosh on while we waited for our meal. Inexpensive and delightful! Highly recommend

TL;DR version- Some high highs and some very low lows. Hot Figs was a fun app. By a mile, the soups…read morewere the favorites, so I would recommend the Pepián or Caldo Tlalpeño Rojo. Nice happy hour and a large chocolate drink selection I was at this unique Guatemalan (ish) restaurant a while back with one of my groups. I said "ish" because the menu has dishes from all over, ranging from sandwiches to BBQ ribs to Guatemalan and Mexican soups. It's out there, and even though not everything works that well, it's fun, and if you can't find something you want to order here, you probably shouldn't go out to restaurants. There was also live jazz music that night, which was loud but nice to listen to. Since it was happy hour, a bunch of us got drinks. I went with a maracuya margarita, which was decent; someone else had a jalapeño margarita, someone had a beer, and someone had a mojito. There were a few nice hot sauces on the table, with the red one reminding me of salsa macha as it had a smoky kick and a spicier green sauce reminiscent of ají verde. They gave us some complimentary blue corn chips and a very mild black bean dip, which was tasty enough and hard to complain about, as it was free. From the appetizers, we got the Hot Figs for $15.95, consisting of honey goat cheese, corn tortilla chips, and plum + pumpkin seeds. This was a unique and fun blend and reminded me more of something you would find in a wine bar. The mix of sweet and salty, with a bit of crunch from the seeds, was nice. This was good, and I would recommend it for a table rather than for a solo diner. There was also The Zingy Salad for $21.95, featuring zucchini spirals, yuzu, tomato, onion, cilantro, pumpkin seeds, and a jalapeño infusion. $18.95. The salad was fine with a bit of crunch and a mild spiciness. It was fine, though a bit wet, for lack of a better word. The best dishes of the night were the soups, which each had its own distinct flavor profile. My sight presence went to the Pepián for $21.95, consisting of chicken, pumpkin/sesame seeds, green tomatillo, cinnamon, cumin, black pepper, carrots, chili coban/pasta/guaque, and potato + rice. There was plenty of tender chicken inside, with the soup having a nice roasted flavor with some spice and a bit of sourness. The potatoes and rice on the bottom added more sustenance to this dish. Almost equally delicious was the Caldo Tlalpeño Rojo for a dollar more with shredded chicken, tomato, black pepper, garlic, onions, peas, chickpeas, corn, achiote, chipotle, Monterey jack cheese, and crunchy blue corn tortilla chips. By comparison, this was a bit heartier, with the melted cheese and shredded tortilla chips inside, similar to soups found in Mexican cuisine. While I also liked the mix of veggies a bit more in this one, as it added a bit more texture, I still slightly preferred the flavor of the other soup, as I usually prefer a bit more spice. The rest of the food was fine. The TPC sandwich for $19.95 with chicken, peanut butter, coconut cream, ginger, cilantro, pickled carrots, and lime was fine. For the number of ingredients, I found it a bit sweet, likely from the cream and the peanut butter mix. The bread was nice, but it also fell apart. It came with a nice side salad with a good vinaigrette. The most expensive at $24.95 were the Slow Cooked BBQ Ribs, consisting of baby back ribs with rice and beans. The ribs were almost a bit too tender as they lacked any bite, which was nice, but the sauce was a bit too generic tasting, reminding me of Sweet Baby Ray's or something similar. The rice and beans were standard. This was also OK. Next came some dessert. There was first the $12.95 Rosemary Churros served with dulce de leche & chocolate dips. While I'm not sure if it worked, the rosemary did add a unique smell and a bit of flavor, and at least it wasn't generic. The churros themselves were hot, and the sauces were standard, with my preference being the dulce de leche. I also ordered a Champurrado for $7.95, which was fine. It wasn't as thick as I expected, though perhaps the style is a bit different than the champurrados I rarely buy from Mexican street carts. The chocolate flavor was very nice, though, and I like that it wasn't too sweet. Another person got a $4 Alfajor, which I got a bite of, which was standard. This place is a bit hard to rate. The two soups were wonderful, I liked the appetizers, and I found a couple of the other dishes just OK. Overall, it was a good meal, but I'm not craving to go back. This would be the perfect 3.5, but I'll round up as that doesn't exist.
