You will never get your correct order through the drive through, it is a lost cause. Food is usually fine but numerous occasions the bad has to be ripped open in the car just to find parts of the order missing. I will never spend another dime in this establishments drive thru. read more

Always forgets part of our order and doesn't not care. Every single time we go through the drive through we have to go back and they literally could care less they forgot part of a $17 meal. I went on Google to see a menu for Tommy's in McHenry, IL. I clicked on the menu button, selected food and called the restaurant to place a rather large order. The guy on the phone gave me a total of $64.18. After I hung up I realized that was an awful lot for what I ordered and called back. I told him online the menu said Sunday's special was a gyro platter for $4.50. I had ordered extra meat and sauce on mine and he told me it was $17 something. I told him again that the price online said $4.50. He said there was no way it was, so I ordered anyway. My friend picked up the food through the drive thru and while he was waiting he saw the guy cooking making food with no gloves on, he dropped something on the floor, picked it up and didn't wash his hands. My friend said something about the no glove situation. The fries, that are supposed to be kept frozen were sitting on the counter. He brought up the price of the food again and was told that the manager said that if I could prove that it said the price I said he would comp the food. I stopped in, asked for the manager, who was NOW wearing gloves. I explained who I was & showed him on the google link for Tommy's McHenry where it said what I had stated. He said that since I didn't go directly to the Tommy's website he wouldn't honor it. So apparently, I have to Google, and when their establishment comes up that says "Menu" I then have to go to another site for a different menu. I tried talking to him about the situation and he began getting agitated and yelling at me because he didn't like what my friend was saying. I calmly asked him why he was yelling at me, I wasn't yelling at him. He said he could yell at me if he wanted. He threatened to call the police if my friend didn't shut up, yelling it at me by the way, and walked away telling me to call corporate or whoever I wanted. I didn't catch his name but he is the manager there in the evening. Also a teenager walked in right before us and my friend mentioned that the workers didn't wear gloves when making the food and he asked his friend that worked there and she said they didn't need to. Hmmm. This level of unprofessionalism is extremely unacceptable. I never raised my voice and was treated horribly. Months after a less than stellar experience at the Tommy's in LITH I decided to give McHenry a chance. Now I'm convinced Tommy's is not the place it use to be. My order (01/12/22 # 2103) a 2 hot dog special with everything and a bacon cheeseburger no tomato. Simple.....right? I guess I can overlook not getting the sport peppers and the celery salt but 2 cold hot dogs both on stale buns. The ends were so dry, I tore then off! The bun on the burger was the same way, ate just the patty. Not sure whats up? Now that I think about it I should have kept the extra money they gave back to me after I paid. But that is called Tommy's Red Hots you would think they would have a decent dog. Not impressed at all. Very overpriced. Fries undercooked. Husband went and ordered some hot dog specials, beef combo and 2 pizza specials. Didn't look at order till he got home, we had double of almost everything. Fries were undercooked, cold in the middle. Don't underestimate this place. They serve our needs when we need take-out. Yes, they deliver now, and they accept credit, which was not a practice in their past. I went there today and ordered the pasta special, spaghetti and meatballs. I always order extra sauce because they're cheap with their sauce. I've never paid extra and they were nice about putting extra sauce on. Today they said you have to pay for extra sauce, this rude asshole said we have to pay for it too.When I got home they have me sauce in the smallest container, it was probably a couple teaspoonfuls and charged me a dollar. Constantly forgetting items in order !!! This is not the first time either it is every time !!! I always cave and try to give them another chance, because I was a fan originally of their gyros, but never again !!! . We have come to this restaurant for many many years and we do like their food. What upset me today was that not all the people preparing the food were not wearing masks. With Covid-19 I guess I was under the impression that they should be wearing masks when preparing food for the public. They were not all wearing masks last week when I picked up food so I decided one more try to see if that had changed. Love the food. Pricing is decent I suppose. I remember being able to get the hot dog special for $3 but that was a long time ago. The only complaint I have is when delivered, more times than not they won't add the ketchup or ranch you asked for or even a straw for the drink. That's just careless.
