Garlic bread was burnt and not sure if it was the beef or the juice or both but was way too salty to eat. Cheese looked like it was melted in a micro wave. Fries underdone too. Huge disappointment. For some reason, Nutella shakes are really hard to come by, but this place has them, and they make them well. I will come in every few months to get one, but the last two times I've been here, they've been out of ingredients. That's not their fault; everyone is having supply chain issues right now. I get that. What is their fault, is that both times, I have ordered, paid, waited 5-10 minutes, and then get told they're out of _____, and then the only way they can refund your money is in cash, even if you paid with a card or Apple Pay. The first time I was asked if I wanted to substitute for a different shake, which I did not, but at least they asked. Today, I was just handed a chocolate shake, and had to taste it, in order to find out it was chocolate. I asked them multiple times if there was Nutella in it, and took several sips. They insisted there was Nutella, and I couldn't taste any. They finally told me they're out of vanilla ice cream, so instead of letting me know that and asking if I want chocolate (I do not), they just made it and now have to throw the milkshake out, because they chose to waste food, instead of asking me. So if I had ordered a strawberry shake, would they have just handed me a brown milkshake and expect me not to question it? read more

If ya blink you'll miss it, the Sunday special is what drew me in, till I saw there menu and almost fell over, wholly cow. I moved here from Wheeling about 14yrs ago, and this place has only gotten better with age, try there sweet potatoes fries with the dipping sauce OMG, 2 die 4. I have Never gotten anything bad there, it's always clean and I love the family atmosphere ya feel just walking in, I always feel welcome. Yeah it's The Bomb. My twin grandson's loved it. I'm glad they R close to where I live, I could walk there if the roads weren't so yucky, not crazy about walking on the gravel, but it is what it is, that's the suburbs for ya. They don't believe in sidewalks, I guess? But I can call ahead and drive there and back home in less then 5 min, can't beat that! If U don't try them at least once, it's your loss, honest! But what sets this place apart are the one-of-a-kind items such as: Roost Beef, Roost Pork, and apple rings. This review highlights the Roost Beef - a deliciously unique sandwich. I will now do my best to describe it. It is a loose meat sandwich with some sort of brown, syrupy-sweet mystery sauce. Incredible! The workers all bust their asses ... and do it with a smile. Great place with great food but on 5/6/23 we stopped in and every table was dirty. Not filthy but not cleaned after previous patrons. Since tables were neglected they didn't notice the food on the floor with the giant pile of ants. Ordered the Roost Beef and it was a big piece of bread with an embarrassingly small amount of meat. I tried messaging them directly but nowhere to do so. Another visit like this will be our last time. It just takes a small amount of effort that can kill a business or make it thrive. The people are friendly and the food is decent. They've updated their menu with TV screens, which looks nice. It's looking a little run down inside the one in Fox Lake in general. Maybe they will give it a makeover soon. I also want to clarify that, yes, they do take cards 6 out of 7 days a week. Sunday is cash only. Really doesn't make any sense to me. Rather, it is inconvenient if you forget and go in on Sunday without cash. I think a better solution is to have a minimum order dollar amount to pay by card. Just an opinion. read more

First of all, the Italian Beef egg rolls are to die for and Roost 59 is the only restaurant that carries them. The ribeye sandwich looks and tastes good but needs a little salt. Overall, good food! I'm a sucker for sweet things and this was fantastic. I've never been to a place that offered this kind of dipping sauce. I loved it.
