Iv been here for my third time, I had the grilled calamari it melted in my mouth.We also had the artichokes in red sauce and the shrimp in a creamy white sauce all for appetizers. I had the broiled pork chop dinner with sautéed spinach and some broccoli. Yum . My friends had braciole made with hamburger and bacon with a red sauce and rotini noodles they said it was scrumptious.our other friend had a special with mussels and shrimp and pasta he loved it. They ordered a special banana desert with whip cream. I was watching them eat it they couldn't get it in fast enough. They loved it.Our waitress remembered us from the last time we were here.i asked her if I could have the broccoli instead of the potatoes she said I'm sure.The owner came out and said what ever I want he'll make it or switch it out if I want.I can tell you he has all the sauces down one is better than the next.You can't ask for any better service than that. As a recent employee of this place I HIGHLY do not recommend. For people who do not know what goes on behind the scenes at this place let me give u some insite, first of all nobody who handles food in this establishment wears gloves they only require u to wash you're hands before clocking in and never again through out you're shift, they don't properly train anyone and just throw u into doing things and their POS system is not in order the owner barely knows where anything is, their cook alone has a huge list of problems with everyone who works there, he's disrespectful to everyone and when he's not cooking he's gambling on the clock which is highly unprofessional, the owner Lu is always late and on the phone instead of helping with training and even when u text/ call her she barely answers. I've reached out with great communication about coming back to work and even went in store and spoke with her and yet to hear anything about a schedule day to come back. UNPROFESSIONAL. My first day training she put down an employee and called him lazy and said mean things about him, again UNPROFESSIONAL, the restaurant hardly had ever any customers and when they do come she talks down on her employees in front of customers like it's okay. Customers are paying alot of money for most of their product to be great value * walmart* brand food items. U could just make your pizza at home at that point. Working 3 days in a row and I was doing all the cleaning and opening shift and taking orders and stocking and the owner took my tips, I was promised 15.50 at the start of my interview just to come to my first day and be done 15.00 an hour. This place is a joke, they really should learn from so many employees all quitting at once that something needs to change. I enjoy each meal I have when I order from Johnny's Cafe. My only suggestion is to have patience when you go, this is a small place and sometimes the service is on point and other times it's not. I have been here several times the food is always excellent and the prices are very reasonable. However I feel I must mention the service was terrible last night. We waited over 2 hours for our food other tables that arrived after us got their food before us. Then to top off the bad service I realize it was a mistake but the waitress dropped a marinara sauce fall and it splattered all over my designer white jacket. We have gone to Johnny's Cafe about 7 times and up until the last 3 times, we were very happy with our meals. I always order the Linguini with shrimp and broccoli with alfredo sauce. The first 4 times it was delicious but the last 3 times there was so much water on the plate that it thinned the sauce and made it so watery that the pasta was not coated in sauce. I think that they are not draining the broccoli or the pasta enough and it is ruining the entree. I thought that it might have just been a mistake until it happened three times in a row. We recently bought a home nearby and walked over to Johnny's for dinner. This place is a hidden gem. The food was solid (the fish and chips with a potato pancake was so good and seasoned well). My burger was good and the fries solid. The prices and portions are incredible (how do they make enough money??). We had 4 drinks and two entrees for $31. Coming from the city we nearly fell off our chairs. The place was slower so we talked with the staff. Super kind and friendly people. We can't wait to come back. We will be their regulars. read more

It was my first time ordering from there and I wasn't impressed. They forgot the salad and bread that came with the pasta. The calamari was sparse and rings only. The sauce tasted old and rewarmed too many times. It had a funny after taste. I normally like to support independently owned businesses but I expected it to be much better. My husband and I decided after seeing a post in this group recently that this would be our place for Friday night dinner yesterday. We walked into a small and quaint bar/restaurant and were sat immediately. The menu is small but to the point for homemade Italian dishes and sandwiches. I ordered the create your own pasta and my husband the chicken parmesan. There are 5 sauce options of which I chose bolognese, linguini, and added on shrimp. The meals also come with soup or salad, bread and they don't skimp on the amounts of ANYTHING! The clam chowder soup was rich, thick, and creamy the way I desire it to be. The texture was loaded with a good amount of clams and the ratio of potatoes was even less, prefect again. The taste was a bit off though being warned they added to much garlic to it. I'll definitely have it again though hoping it's not garlic overload. Our pasta dishes came out piping hot in less then 10 minutes after we ordered! What?!?! Holy moly the portion sizes were BIG BIG BIG!!! You will need a wheelbarrow after eating here to roll you to your car! The shrimp were medium size, none of those ridiculous baby ones like Olive Garden. That sauce....well again rich, full of what tasted like fresh herbs, and meaty. Yes I'd order that just to dip bread in. My husband's chicken was 2 GINORMOUS breasts, lightly breaded, loaded with cheese, and moist inside. I couldn't stop stealing pieces of it! We both had leftovers today which I almost took out of the fridge at midnight last night because I couldn't stop thinking about it. Luckily I restrained myself until breakfast this morning. The food is absolutely fabulous and at the right price point. But, customer service is odd. The hostess asks a lot of personal questions, and if you don't pass the test, she turns her back on you. The staff went above and beyond to make our anniversary special. We originally planned to order from another restaurant, but their phones were completely disconnected. It was late, we were starving, and we took a shot on Johnny's never having eaten there before. When we called them, they were already closing for the night; however, the staff was super polite and accommodating. They didn't have to, but they asked what we wanted, made sure they had the food, and had it ready for us to pick up! We were over the moon! The portions are ENORMOUS for the price! I got three portions from my delicious spaghetti carbonara. It even came with a salad and bread and butter. The portion size is unheard of with sides, all for this price. My husband got the chicken Limon with veggies, potatoes, and salad. The flavor was awesome and an excellent value. Everything was cooked really well. They packaged everything with care; I am so thrilled with the time they took to make us happy. We are so grateful to this restaurant and staff for basically saving our anniversary. My girlfriend and I went to Johnny's last night for dinner, and it was absolutely phenominal. They were pretty busy, but despite that, we were sat promptly and waited on almost immediately. The environment is very warm, and cozy. All of the staff were well trained despite Johnny's only being open a couple of months. We apted for two appetizers as we couldn't contain ourselves to just one. The Bruschetta had an interesting twist to it, was incredible. The Fried Calamari was cooked to perfection. We are both huge on Fried Calamari and agreed it was probably the best we have ever had. She opted for the Chicken Parmigiana with spaghetti, in which the chicken was cooked so tenderly. I had linguini with mussels in a white sauce, and it was amazing as well. The cream of mushroom soup was also amazing. The restaurant was out of Tiramisu, but we will definitely be back to try it as everything else was out of this world and we can only imagine what that is like! We would highly recommend Johnny's Cafe to anybody and everybody. PS: We cannot wait to hang out on their outside deck during the summer months and enjoy a beautiful meal outside. read more
