A great bar with great food. Plenty of nice people and good service. Plenty of entertainment inside to go with the drinks and food.

We were both overheating because we were on a…read morelong walk and I think we stayed a little bit too long because my little cash ended up in the jukebox during our music war, I hollered at my guy for playing Weezer and a few people laughed but yeah, that was a silly day and the bartender was a very good sport. I'm going to order pizza and review it once I settle more in my new place. So far Spring Grove has never disappointed me. I used to vacation near here as a kid and we would always get excited to go camping at our site. I gotta say I never saw it coming! I did notice that a lady at the bar ordered a nice Italian Beef, it looked full and pleasing to the eye. She made it half way through and wrapped up the rest for her husband to finish for his late night snack which I found charming. I think I called her a better woman than I! Another guy was having something at the end of the bar but I didn't notice it. There were a couple of people in the front dining room and nobody on the patio, but I suspect that it is a different story in the evenings. Tons of televisions, sporty decor, clean bathroom, spotless kitchen and a fun menu. I will be back. I like getting pizza for takeout and sharing it with the beau walking back. It's exercise we agree upon.

A familiar waitress was our server and that a definite plus Food came quickly as usual minus the cornmeal on the bottom of pizza ( not a problem for us) everything was great tasting and service great as well. Then came the bill... large thin crust meatlovers is advertised on the menu for $28. The bill charged us $18 instead of $14. Our other pizza was also priced not at a 50% discount. Asked our server if she could explain this difference she said when she started her shift she was told to ring things up this new way. Basic pizza is 50% off but all toppings are charged at regular price. That includes the specialty pizzas listed on the menu for a specific price. We figured we were charged $8 more than usual under this new policy. I'm not looking to get anyone in trouble just looking to expose what I think is false advertising. The original owner served true 1/2 price pizza and filled the restaurant last night the restaurant was really empty. I hope this isn't going to happen with other special nights ! It would be a real shame to lose a great restaurant that has a bar in a town where the normal is to have a bar that just happens to serve some food! Don't let this happen!

I am not the late night club customer. Food is consistently 3 star. That isn't a discredit to them, it is what their menu is. The preparation is consistent. The bartender/ wait staff service on the other hand ranges from a sub zero to 5 star. If you want miserable service, show up between 4:45pm and 5:15pm on a Friday during "shift change" of the bartenders at the outside bar (an odd time to change over all the bartenders). Pre 4:45 generally great service at the bar. Post 5:00..hit or miss. Away from the bar outside, totally hit or miss (not because of lack of staffing). Inside, consistently top notch.

I've gone during the day and at night and I love the environment during both. During the day is when you really get to enjoy that it's on the lake. The outdoor seating is so nice and there's also a large covered bar outside if you need more shade. Waitresses will take your drink orders, but you do have to go inside to order food. They have the order numbers on display outside too though so you can go back to your table and wait instead of standing inside. My seasoned vet friends told me I had to try the kabobs and definitively, I will never not order the kabob when I'm here. Also the shrimp with cocktail sauce are the perfect lake day bite and they'll give those to you as soon as you order. The vibe definitely shifts at night and is a much younger crowd with everyone hanging out upstairs either at the bar or on the dance floor. The DJ always plays good music that you just want to sing along to, but the nights can be hit or miss as far as it being packed or not. Either way it's always fun. Everyone on staff is pretty helpful and they add to the fun. The vibes are just right. Price wise, you may spend $20+ a person for food but it's great quality and sooo good. The drink prices are pretty normal for the area/being on the lake. The last time I went on a Sunday there were some ambassadors that were giving out drink samples too so even if you feel like drinks are pricey, you might catch a break by getting a chance to try a drink or two. Freddie's also owns the Airbnbs next door so you can rent those out and spend the whole weekend out here.

The chicken shishkabob I ordered was seasoned well, the vegetables were grilled nicely, and the baked potato was fine. That said, the portion-to-price ratio on this particular dish was really hard to swallow. For $25, I expected a much more substantial plate. One skewer with literally four pieces of chicken and a potato on it is pretty ridiculous at that price point. Typically, shishkabobs are served in pairs to begin with, so four cubes of chicken on a stick for $25 is excessive. And that was on "Special". The food was good, but the value just wasn't there. I'll still come back because the place has a nice feel; the staff are friendky, and the meal wasn't bad by any means, but I'd definitely order something else the next time unless the portion size on the shishkabob is adjusted.

My wife ordered a cheeseburger that wound up being a little bit undercooked. My daughter ordered a Southwest salad that was missing black beans and avocado. When we asked the waitress to inquire with the chef if that was normal, she came back and said yes. The Southwest wound up being salad, pita bread with a slice of some sort of cheese stuffed in it, pico in the salad and two tomato slices. Epic fail. The menu was fairly diverse but only had two seafood options. Fried pollock and fried shrimp. No fish tacos. No shrimp tacos. This place really does have a special location but needs some freshening up. The deck could use a power wash. The hand rail going up to the deck was broken at the top. I saw more than a few senior have an issue with it. Lots of potential to go to the next level here if the owner(s) are willing to take the initiative.
