This was our first time checking out this place. We were seated right away outside, which was perfect since the weather was great. Our drink orders were taken promptly, followed by our appetizers. For starters, we had the pretzel bites and cheese curds. The cheese curds were delicious -- and served in cube form, which was a fun and unique touch. The pretzel bites were decent, though a bit dry in some spots; thankfully, the cheese sauce helped. We also tried the popcorn, which was just okay -- some pieces tasted a little stale. As for the main dishes, everything we tried was pretty good! We ordered the Boom Boom Shrimp Tacos, the Avocado Wrap, the Chicken Caprese Sandwich, and the Pesto Grilled Cheese. Each dish was flavorful, and I especially enjoyed the orzo and the combination of flavors with the Boom Boom Shrimp -- it all worked really well together. Overall, it was a solid first visit and I'd come back to try more! read more

We came here about two weeks ago and had an awesome time. The patio is a great size and good vibes with loudish music. The patio is dog friendly and we were able to dock, hop off the boat, bring the dog and meet up with friends. Drinks were delicious, and we all ordered different types of fish tacos (fried, grilled, and raw ahi). Everyone loved them and it was great to be able to try them all. The tacos were huge! We love this place, especially in the summer months outside seating watching the sunsets. Love Friday fish baked with the best dill sauce. Drinks and service has always been wonderful...they do their best to make you happy. Parking...well that's a bit tough in the lot even with handicapped. Boat parking looks good though! I'm glad we came with friends. 1st timers & it won't be anymore z Food is okay. I ordered Fish fry came in on Friday . Fish could have more flavor. But the Service is excellent by Gina(Bartender) ambiance is phenomenal. You will see the sunset & the beauty of the lake. Highly recommended family, friends or even a a date get together. Great food and a great atmosphere. I have been here a few times now and have enjoyed it both times. The first time I went I sat inside and had a gorgeous view of the lake. The second time I went we sat outside on the patio, again with a nice view of the lake but also with live music. Our server was great and we had a really nice afternoon meal. Food was and always has been good. Atmosphere is great. Right on the lake with amazing sunset views. Indoor and outdoor seating with entertainment. Manage Ent and staff are lacking a lot of skills. Waitresses do the very best they can with very limited bar support. Other staff seem.like they dont know or care about what is going on with seating and entertainment. We would have given this 5 stars but the hostess Lily was rude. When I asked for a different table she said no because there were only 2 of us. Ok I understand but 5 minutes later she sat both tables with 2 people. The third and fourth tables remained EMPTY for the rest of our meal. Sad. The food was great and our server was fantastic. It's a shame that our first employee to encounter was so rude. Btw I did mention my disappointment to Lily who shrugged her shoulders and said "sorry" That made it even worse...maybe find another person to be the first touch point of your awesome establishment. I've been coming to Sunset Grill for many years. I live across the channel and am here once a week on average. Thr food is excellent, the sevice is outstanding and the atmosphere is fun and inviting. Today I was met by the worst hostess I have ever spoken to. I came here with my daughter and her family for dinner and to listen to the music. The hostess told me there would be an hour and a half wait, at least. There were 6 tables open inside so I said one of those tables would be fine, we could still here the music and understand the outside wait. She said no there was nothing available. I said okay we will wait. My grandkids went outside by the water and were dancing and being active when a very nice waitress, Madelyn, approached my daughter. My daughter explained we were waiting for table. Madelyn asked if we would be ok inside and we said of course so she seated us inside. Our waitress greeted us immediatley and was kind and efficient. The baked cod without adding the dill sauce (not gluten free) was sadly disappointing. First serving they spilled dill sauce on and fish was mushy. Great little spot to enjoy the outdoors, view of the lake, and live music. People of many ages were hanging out. Service was quick and drinks refilled often despite the crowd. Lots of people but we still managed to find a seat outside. I got the boom boom tacos and they were awesome! We went at Christmas time and they went above and beyond with inside decorations - great place to get holiday cheer. We had fish fry and it was perfect - large pieces and light crispy coating. This is a place we frequent often during the summer when we're out on our boat, and we've honestly never had an issue then -- which is why this experience was so disappointing. We decided to try the Tipsy Elf bar during the winter, and unfortunately the entire experience was ruined by the hostess staff. We attempted to communicate our needs in advance and were met with condescension, rudeness, and zero effort to listen or comprehend what we were saying. Instead of engaging in a conversation, the head hostess repeatedly barked responses back without processing a word we said. At one point, she snapped -- in an incredibly rude tone -- "I don't think you understand how busy it gets." It felt dismissive, unnecessary, and frankly unprofessional. The hostesses came across as young college kids on a power trip over seating tables, rather than people interested in customer service. We followed the rules that were clearly communicated to us regarding the waitlist. However, when we went to check in, there was suddenly a completely new set of rules that had never been mentioned -- even though we had tried to explain our situation earlier. When we attempted to clarify, we were shut down again. I did ask to speak with a manager, and to be fair, the manager was much more pleasant, patient, and easy to work with**. She actually listened and understood our needs. Unfortunately, by that point, the damage was done. The hostesses' attitudes and need for control completely ruined the experience, and we chose to leave. It's frustrating because we genuinely enjoy this place in the summer, but this visit left a bad taste. Management may want to take a closer look at how the hostess staff is trained -- especially in the off-season -- because one interaction at the door can absolutely determine whether customers stay or walk out. Editing to respond- I 100% agree with you, I was out of character and could have provided more kindness and understanding. Frustration took over after engaging with them multiple times and not being heard or understood/ everyone's demeanor (to include my own). We went for the amazing Bloody Mary's, and this place is awesome! Clean, friendly and great views. The Bloody Mary's were a meal in themself and all the fixings so tasty! We also had the cheese curds, yummy. Our server Jessica super friendly, knowledgeable and attentive just great! Highly recommend and can't wait to come back! read more

Has become a regular place for us. Easy boat access. Awesome Tiki deck overlooking the water at sunset. Great food, 2 steps above other Chain bar food. Hard working staff and approachable management. Great little bands on the weekends. Improvements could include expanded hours and peel 'n eat shrimp on the menu. read more

I'm only rating the service which if I could would be zero stars. I call around 4:30 on a Friday. Person that answers says they don't take reservations for two and she's not the hostess anyways. Proceeds to tell me plenty of tables open inside and outside. We head over and girl in Ole Miss t-shirt tells us there's a 20 minute wait for the outside because the staff hasn't shown up yet. Mind you this is 5PM on a Friday. We point out two open tables and get the same no staff explanation. We decide to wait at the outside tiki bar and get a drink while waiting for a table. The one bartender comes and goes, serves others, never makes eye contact with us. 20 minutes goes by. No drinks. Broiling in the sun. We go inside and I ask for the manager. Alex- about 25 yrs old - apologizes, says he just came on duty, and offers drinks. It's now 5:45. Really? Your manager comes on duty at 5:45 on a Friday? Epic failure. Unless you are a regular or the DJ who seemed to be able to get food for himself and his girlfriend, you will be ignored. Take your money elsewhere for a fish fry, dinner, or drinks. It's one of the "nicer" waterfront options on the chain. Decent drinks, decent food and they give you popcorn. Never had a bad time there, the service has always been pretty good, and it's got less of the hi-fivin' dudebro 50-somethings than a lot of the other places around here. read more

We walked in just as they opened at 3, were greeted with a big smile and we were seated outside with the amazing view... with a big bowl of fresh hot popcorn! Our server was awesome, she didn't miss a beat! We ordered the calamari, bang bang shrimp and the steak trio! Yum! The steak trio was perfectly cooked and the sauce on it was perfect, the bang bang shrimp is probably one of my favorite foods ever! Unfortunately I wasn't able to eat my meal as I had requested no bacon or mayo and yet they had seemingly doubled the bacon. No compensation on anything (ie soda, appetizer). Paid Full price and no gift card for the inconvenience. We came here for dinner on a Wednesday night. We were seated outside and the view was very nice. The menu is diverse and should have something for just about everyone. The four of us at my table got the Buffalo chicken flatbread, the boom boom tacos, the chicken finger dinner and I got the wedge salad and the chicken and rice soup. Our server was friendly and the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. Everyone enjoyed their food and from my viewpoint, it looked good. My wedge salad looked good from when it was sat down but as I cut it up I realized it had way too much dressing. After getting it all cut up it more resembled soup. I would get the wedge again but I would request the dressing on the side so I could control the amount. All in all good experience. Will be back for certain. read more
