Been meaning to try this place out and was not disappointed. It's small inside, with larger (maybe communal?) tables, you order from the counter and they bring out the food. We ordered an Italian sandwich and Philly cheesesteak (tuesdays only), with fries and drinks. This was the best Italian sub sandwich I've had in the area. The meats were generous and it tasted so fresh. The cheesesteak was also fresh and delicious, the taste of the steak being a huge standout. Both sandwiches had amazing bread, and the fries were delicious. The price was a little steep at almost $50 for two sandwiches, one bag of chips, one soda, and an order of fries. But for me, the quality was worth the price for a once in a while treat. Our only complaint was the ketchup came in packets, and they either were old or not under proper temp control. The texture was off, and the packets were inflated... making it seem like they went bad. We will be coming back for sure. read more

Why has this place turned into a dirty fingerprint and meat smudged pit? The last time I was in I had noted a decline in cleanliness, but now it can only described as so much so to be completely unappealing. There wasn't a single metal or glass surface that wasn't smeared and smudged, both inside and out. Display cases were disheveled, with price and description tags laying backward and turned over so as to not be readable. Not one, not two but at least half were this way or completely missing. Shelves were dusty. The bottoms of the freezers grimy and the glass dirty. The prep area behind the counter was none too impressive either. I ordered a Reuben and expected a real deli style sandwich with a great sauce and good kraut. What I was served looked like someone had wadded up a ball of shaved corned beef and slammed it in the middle of a very large slice of toast leaving about 1 1/2" of naked crust surrounding a ball of beef. The sauce was lackluster and the kraut almost tasteless. I've had better Rueben's across the street for nearly half the price. The ribeye sandwich was tasty, but uninspired and looked like it had been slapped together by a 3rd grader. Zero attention given to presentation. If I am going to an establishment which charges $30 a lb for ribeyes and $14 -$17 for a sandwich with only a limp dill pickle quarter as a side, I expect an equally corresponding attention to cleanliness and detail. This trip in was enough to make me not ever want to return. I doubt I will. read more

I stumbled upon this gem last week while I was in town for a work meeting and boy am I glad I did! It can be difficult to find high quality meat at an affordable price and the Hub Market did just that. I tried a bone in rib eye and a sirloin. The rib eye was steak house quality and the sirloin was incredibly tender for that type of cut (it was for a friend, I'm a rib eye or die kinda guy). Bonus: their deli is amazing! I tried the turkey bacon club and it was one of the best sandwiches I've had in a very long time. From the garlic mayo to the avocado spread, it was on point. I have a follow up appointment in mchenry this week and am looking forward to another tasty sandwich and a steak to bring home! read more

In NYC I got a corned beef sandwich at a deli and it cost $25, I was a bit shocked at the prices but it was freshly cut off a hot corned beef brisket right in front of me and it was A POUND of beef (they weigh it). Here I paid $9 for a half corned beef sandwich and it had 3 thin slices of processed beef on it. This is McHenry...I am not paying for ambience. Go to the bakery next door instead, we got a bag full of pastries for the same price of my crappy sandwich. read more

Went for lunch with a friend. Service was good friendly staff. We had chilli it has a nice flavor. With a lil heat but not to much. The. Split the cranberry turkey sandwich it was good flavor in the spread and the bread was tasty. My only thing o would have liked a piece of lettuce. The sandwich needed a lil something texture wise. The pickle was fresh and crunchy. I didn't see they had chips. I missed those. That might have given me some texture. Will go back and try another sandwich. And want to get some of the butchers cuts of meat they looked fantastic. Will try those another time also. read more

3 weeks ago my husband & I made a trip to Hub Market for fresh meat. In the past we've always been satisfied. This time was a total rip off. We bought 2 full slabs of ribs which were listed at $8.99 per pound. After we got home we realized we were charged $9.99 per lb. Next day my husband unwrapped the ribs & they stunk real bad. I immediately called the store & they advised to throw them out & we'd be refunded. They found our transaction on the debit/credit machine. We waited a week & I started calling the store. They lied & told us they refunded us but never did. I'm not calling them anymore because they are lying thieves. They over us $48.00. We won't be back. read more

Steaks are always fantastic, good selection of cuts to choose from and at a very reasonable price. Their burgers and brats are great, different varieties of both, well worth the price, and have frequent sales on them. Lots of deli sides to choose from, their stuffed mushrooms in particular are great. Sandwiches are very good as well, turkey bacon club is stacked high with plenty of meat. Lobster rolls are served hot with a steamed bun and delicious sauce over it, but only offered on Wednesdays. Their dessert section has multiple options, and they have wine and beer from local breweries in the back section. Take and bake prepared meals are much better than your average place's. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and can help if you're unsure. Highly recommend this place for meat and a quick stop for lunch! read more

High quality fresh sliced turkey, thick cut bacon, fresh arugula with avocado spread. This place is really great! Super solid food, anywhere from lunch sandwiches to meats cuts for dinner. My husband picked up a few steaks and some stuffed chicken breast. To our surprised, it wasn't expensive compared to just buying steaks from the local Meijer. Today my husband and myself went in for lunch. We had custom made sandwiches and wow, so good! They also have a really great wine/ beer section. On top of that they also sell fresh veggies! The staff is very kind and super upbeat. Everyone we spoke to was really great. We are our lunch inside and it's got a great feel, can't wait to go back with friends and family! They have food packages for different cuts of meat, which is a great way to save. Had to try the Wednesday lobster roll! Not many places offer it around here. Not much meat, but it's good!

I kept reading these reviews about how great the lobster roll was. The first time I tried to order it I got the voicemail and left my name and number and they never called back. I tried again a couple weeks later and the same thing happened. I kept trying and finally got through. I ordered the lobster roll and I don't see what all the fuss was about. I had heard there was a local place serving a Lobster Roll on Wednesdays so I to succumbed to my desires and tried one. I have been to Bar Harbor Maine and had the lobster rolls there. I was feeling rather "New English" and it was Wednesday so I had to try it. I was disappointed to say the least. The lobster was rather flavorless. I know Crab and Lobster are rather subtle in their flavors but this had no flavor except for the mayo or sauce they used on this. With the one's in ME the lobster tasted like the ocean but this did not have any flavor. I may go back and try something else. I don't want to write them off yet. read more

I found this place on Yelp as my husband and I just needed a quick lunch while in the area and it got good reviews so we tried it out. It's very cute inside and would be good if you're having a picnic lunch or lunch in the park. I got a half of a club sandwich and a cup of french onion soup and it was very good. I love a good steak but I'm too cheap to pay restaurant prices for a steak dinner. My husband has gone here a couple of times and the steaks are amazing quality and always cook up perfectly tender and flavorful! We've gone the grocery store route but Hubs steaks are really great. We stumbled upon this spot for lunch after checking out the riverwalk on our way home from a lake house. Hub Market has a unique concept... it's part butcher shop, part deli, and part bar. I think this place is a gem. I had the Beast sandwich (pastrami and corned beef with sauerkraut) and my husband had the roast beef. Both sandwiches were delicious and piled high with meat. We also bought ribeye burgers to grill at home for dinner. They were a little pricey at $6 a patty, but the meat tasted fresh and the burgers were thick. I had a tuna salad croissant sandwich and my husband had a rib eye steak sandwich. Both were good. However, the tuna salad is lacking flavor and way too mushy. I wouldn't order it again. We had been wanting to try this new deli. We opted for sandwiches and their soup of the day. The pastrami and Italian sausage were great and their stuffed pepper soup was very tasty.
