I got into a fender bender mid-day Thursday, and originally wanted my car towed home because I am 18 and was alone at the scene. I was swayed by Conroe PD to have it towed instead by this wrecker company/body shop because it would supposedly be more "convenient" and "cheaper." I was not even given the card of where my car was going until I asked multiple times. On Thursday we called Tommy's Paint and Body and a woman answered, took our email address, and said they would look at it and reach back out with a quote. Friday morning we called and they had still not looked at the car, so we assumed they were busy. She again said they would get back to us. We called later in the day and she said they would look at it "now." We called for a third time Friday and a man answered saying he didn't know anything about it, they were closed, and we would have to wait until Monday. Meanwhile, the lot fees were $22.85 a day, plus a $20 impound fee even though we were led to believe it was not being impounded, a $50 "storage notification fee" even though WE were the ones repeatedly calling THEM, and on top of the $200 tow fee there was also a $35 fuel charge. We let them know Thursday that this would not be covered by insurance and we needed a quote on making it drivable and fully fixed as well. Then Monday we were just now informed that moving my car from the impound lot next door into the actual body shop would not even be an option until we came in person to pay the impound fees first, and that they do not allow over-the-phone payment. If these fees and requirements had been disclosed Thursday, we would not have left the car sitting there for days while nobody even looked at it. At that point it felt very obvious they were more interested in charging lot/storage fees than actually helping customers. They did not disclose certain fees up front, or that we would have to come in person with cash or money order just to have it looked at or to tow it elsewhere. We ended up towing it to a different shop. I let them know my issues with the service and they showed zero concern nor apologetic. Terrible communication and terrible service. read more

My mom's car was impounded by Conroe PD and sent here. The representative we spoke with (Steven McKay) refused debit card payment and insisted only on accepting cash or money order. This is illegal in the state of Texas. We called during open business hours (around 1:50something pm) but were called back and told by Steven McKay he would be going into a meeting and no one would be available to assist us to get the car back. So we waited for him to contact us after his meeting before ubering there. He contacted my mom after the posted business hours to the facility itself around 7pm letting her know we could come. We ordered the Uber, had to withdrawal cash and she received two calls rushing her on the way there. When we arrived to the location given the business was closed, Steven and his family were pulled up in a car in the parking lot and did the entire transaction outside of the facility in the rain while we got soaked until he opened his trunk and had us stand under it. I still was getting soaked but at least my mom was covered. He refused to make any change for our transaction stating he had no way to provide change so we had to pay over the stated price to pay the total amount and received no receipt of transaction what so ever, at no point did he offer us any way of knowing exactly what we were being charged $271.12 for. Thankfully I had a couple dollars to give my mom or she would have had to pay him $18 and some change over instead of almost a dollar over. But when he thought she'd have to give him a full $20 for $1.12 missing he stayed firm in that he could not give change and would have to take the overcharge. He did accept the almost $1 overcharge and still provided no change. This is illegal. Then we were asked to walk around the corner and across the street in the rain to where her car was locked up. And finally given back the car. I will be taking this up with Conroe PD and bringing to light the predatory towing going on here. We were told this facility is 24 hours by both Conroe PD and Steven McKay. So having to wait 5 hours before being allowed to come due to him having a meeting was illegal as well. Contacting Conroe PD and my attorney first thing tomorrow morning. I also noticed a response from this company to another review on google where they stated Conroe PD sets a $200 tow price and that shouldn't raise before 24 hrs. My mother was quoted over $200 just hours after her car was impounded. read more

Excellent pricing and excellent work. I hit my garage, and I had to get my bumper replaced. Since I work from home, and I live right around the corner, they even agreed to take me home to work while they fixed it so I didn't have to get a rental for a day. This place is a scam! They first take your money and claim it's for the first 24 hours fee knowing they are not even open at 130am Sunday morning but charge you 50$ then turn around and charge you 20$ on Monday saying that's 50$ for the paperwork going out on Monday morning and 20$ for 24 hours after the car was towed wait.. what!! I'm confused. When do the 24 hr start? ohh Guess what as soon as they get your car.. open or not Y'all!! So now we up 70$ she tells me the tow is 211.50 storage fee is 60.00 add 20$ on there for a grand total of 348.10 And the best part they lock your car up behind a gate and steal everything out of it!! And tell you to prove you had it in there and to do a police report after you just had an accident on Sunday morning. They claim they have a contract with the Conroe Police so be careful Folks read more

Excellent Service! We took our BMW to this shop after receiving a quote from AutoNation. Unfortunately our car was involved in a hit and run. The back bumper and two taillights had to be replaced. We dropped our car off at 8:00am and picked it up 2 days later. It was back to perfection!! The day my car was hit I took it to AutoNation because they worked on my car before with good results. That same day I went to the Conroe Police Department to report the hit and run and get a case number for my insurance company. The policeman that took my case suggested I try Tommy's for a quote also. I walked in to Tommy's and within 15 minutes had a quote with excellent customer service. As it turned out my insurance adjuster had a top notch review of this repair shop too. Price was lower, customer service high; quick car return; and a follow up call from them! Top Notch Service! Mark (Tommy's Son) has continued the proud tradition of the company and is doing a wonderful job! I recently purchased a 2002 VW Passat with only 18K miles on it. The car had one deep scratch on the rear quarter panel. Mark's staff did such I perfect job that I inspected it for several minutes and could not tell that the issue was ever there! I would like to say on a trip to Houston I had my car towed by Tommy's. During that process my car was damaged. To their credit they were apologetic, accepted responsibility, and quickly fixed the issue. In addition they reimbursed me promptly for work I had to get done in DFW area. These people have high integrity and the work they did on my wife's E350 Mercedes was impeccable. It is hard to find this type of good old fashioned honest customer service and work. Kudos to Mark and his team, from the office staff, to the towing staff. It was an unfortunate circumstance, but you turned lemons into lemonade!! read more

i called and asked for price and availability for a wrecker to pick up at my home in conroe, tx. area, and asked if they could come and take it to a bmw auto repair location..i then asked to please send a wrecker. after a hour and a half, i gave up. 2 hours later i contacted the bmw repair shop and asked if they had a wrecker service they do business with. they gave me a number for a wrecker service, who i asked to pick up my bmw the next day, as it was now getting late in the day. still no return call or wrecker form tommy's wrecker service. the car was my wife's "go to lunch with the girls, top down, let your hair blow in the breeze sporty car, and not a main means of transportation car. but still, a phone call to say, we're running late, we had trouble and can't tow your car today or we just don't care, would have been good and would have showed they were running a business with some concern of other people's time. they will be taken off my christmas card list this year. i called tommy's wrecker service back after a couple hours and was advised they thought someone was on the way..i told them to disregard a wrecker from tommy's, as i made other arrangements with another wrecker service. after a few minutes, after i hung up with tommy's wrecker service, i received the first phone call "from" tommy's wrecker service asking me if i needed a wrecker. i explained i did not due to the fact i had made other arrangements. just glad it wasn't my only means of transportation. i have aaa texas for roadside assistance, which i am glad, because i know i can not rely on tommy's wrecker service for help. read more

I took my vehicle to Tommy's Paint and Body in Conroe,TX on 10/28/2015 after a hitting a deer and having damage to both passenger doors. The customer service I received was extremely unprofessional. I called multiple times to check the status of the repair and was never contacted in return. The insurance adjuster was involved and finally able to give a date which was pushed back several times. The owner Mark Curless was rude and unprofessional used profanity multiple times while expressing frustration about our insurance company, Allstate even when he was asked to refrain from using such language. In total the vehicle was finally repaired and available on 12/08/2015 just shy of six weeks of having the vehicle. When I arrived to pick the car up Mark did not want me to inspect the job until I paid the deductible. All the while he was aware the passenger window would not roll down. When asked about the window the owner preceded to tell us that his technician had already looked into it and the motor in the door panel was broken and they were not responsible. Mark then pointed at the door and stated "Bye, Yall need to leave now." I took the vehicle to the Mazda dealership and they were able to repair the window luckily at no additional cost to me. read more
