I was storing a board in my garage when the board decided to trip and hit my car. I ended up with a…read more6-inch minor dent on my rear passenger quarter panel. I called Dent Masters, never got a response from him after a week. I called Benny at Dent Champion; he gave me a quote based on what I could show through pictures. I called Dent Dogs, Juan gave me a call back and gave me a quote based on the same pictures. The dent was really hard to capture through pictures or video. The cheapest quote I got was $120 through Dent Dogs, I drove out to meet Juan where he was going to do the work. We spent some time trying to figure out how to take the tail light off which he couldn't do. We finally watched a video, his first response was we need to drill an access point (3/4-inch hole) because the space behind the tail light wasn't open. For obvious reasons I didn't want a hole drilled into my car... that's permanent damage to fix damage that could be fixed. His set up was concerning and I started to question how well he can fix the dent. He told me it would take him about 40 minutes. I decided to not go through with Dent Dogs and called Benny right after. Benny first quoted $250 from the pictures I sent. He only works out of his shop so I drove from Kingwood to Tomball to get the work done. I got there and when he got a better view of the dent, he quoted me $550. That price difference shocked me. Turns out the quote he gave me initially was because he only saw the top half of the dent. We worked it out and he decided that if he can easily access the dent, he'll honor the $250. Going with Dent Champion was a much better decision, for a few reasons. The main one is Benny cares more if the car is returned to its previous condition, not just removing the dent. He took the time to find a way to access the dent without drilling a hole and painted the exposed metal at the hole that was used. He spent the time (about an hour and a half) to get the dent out properly using the light at different angles. In the end I was more than happy with the effort and care he took to remove the dent. He was going to honor the $250 but I ended up giving him $350. TLDR: If you care about your car and want the fixes done properly, Go to Dent Champion. Benny has been doing this since 94 which makes him a pioneer in the PDR field. Apparently, he participated in the Dent Olympics at the Mobile Tech Expo in Orlando and placed in the top 10. Most interestingly, Juan shadowed Benny for a few days which isn't enough to be good... maybe enough to fix dents. Dent Champion costs more than the competitors, but not all work is the same.

We brought my wife's Infinity to Andy's company - American Dent Specialists - a few years ago and they did a great job detailing the car. When I bought my Porsche a few months ago, I was encouraged to look into having ceramic applied to protect the finish. I called Andy to get his take on the technology (very positive!) and learned that his company applies ceramic coatings. I was fortunate enough to be going on vacation a few weeks ago and Andy arranged for me to have the ceramic coating applied while I was gone. This had the added benefit of allowing the car to sit in Andy's shop for 5 additional days to give the ceramic coating more time to cure out of the elements. I was blown away by how nice the car looked when I picked it up. It is perfect! Very shiny and the detail work to the car was excellent. Andy introduced me to the two guys who worked on the car and they were really excited about how the car came out. One of the reasons I chose ceramic technology is the ease of doing maintenance washes. I have done one maintenance wash since I picked the car up. Used two buckets as they recommended. Then, I used my leaf blower to dry the car. It worked incredibly well. My wife was with me when I picked up the car. Andy, and the two guys, let my wife know the advantages of getting it done on her Mercedes SUV. The guys were so strong on the technology, answered her questions, and of course she could see the result in my car. She is very practical, and a tough sell, so not sure if she will make it happen. If so, we will definitely use Andy's company.

Was visiting Houston from out of town and a screw had popped off on my bumper and it was flapping in the wind. I had to drive 150 miles back home on a Sunday so I could make work Monday morning. I called some "body shops" but everybody was closed. I found 2 guys A1 Autobody and this other guy. The other guy wanted me to go to Home Depot and bring him something - while A1 was like I can most likely fix it given the pictures. I was a little reluctant to spend money from somebody on Yelp and not an official body shop. But, I wasn't in a position to really wait and shop around. I didn't know what to expect but when I got to the location this guy was prepared and I could quickly tell he knew his stuff. I felt very comfortable having him work on my car and feel like I got lucky to find him. I have driven 200 miles since, and my car looks great - panels are secure. With the remaining time he offered to fix some dings and gave me the rundown of what could be a quick-fix vs. time-intensive. Bobby has a lot of experience with body work. This is like directly dealing with the guy that will touch your car rather then go to shop, schedule an appointment, and wait around. Overall, very happy and would recommend again.
