N1 - Pad Thai

We have ordered Tommy Thai many times over the last several years and this was our first time dining in! The food was just as delicious as I remembered and it was even better eating in the restaurant. I think the portions were even larger too :) our group shared the pineapple fried rice, pad Thai tofu, red curry tofu, and fresh rolls with steamed rice. Everything was absolutely amazing and it's hard to pick a favorite dish - maybe the pineapple fried rice stood out slightly above the rest but hard to say. We had plenty of leftovers to take home which is not always the case for our group! Comfortable booth and table seating. This spot is very popular for take out too and they have always gotten our orders exactly correct!

Ordered catering through Tommy Thai for a work lunch and everyone really enjoyed the food! The food arrived on time and piping hot! They also provided two free tea drinks that were refreshing. The spring rolls were a hit and liked how they provided plenty of sauce to go with it. The green bean dishes were good too, but since it sat for a bit until we got into it, it did get a bit mushy. Would definitely eat this fresh for next time, but plenty of other veggies in the dish like broccoli and bell peppers. Also tried their green curry with tofu and veggies and panang curry with chicken. They were both good, but since I ordered mild, I felt it lacked a little bit of flavor. Personally I would order with much more spice and would do that next time.

The food here is Soooo good for the food I would give this place 5 but as far as service it is almost non existent. The staff is very nice but they seem to be more concerned/ busy with their online orders than they are in their dine in customers. Customers had to get up to get the waiters attention to get things they needed and they dont check on you to see if you need anything. If you want something else you order in the app but then im not sure if they check because we waited a LOONG time for something extra that we order. So for service I would give them 3. Pre-Covid the service was really good... but now with their online orders they haven't been able to balance orders and dine in. But we will be back because the food really is good. I had three Pad See Ew and my husband had the Prik Khing Green Beans.

FOOD: was delicious! We got the fried tofu and pumpkin curry. Both were delicious. The coconut rice worked well with all the dishes. The Thai tea was a good flavor. INSIDE: was nicely decorated and easily accessible aisles. PARKING: lot is small but there is also street parking too. STAFF: is easy because you order via telephone and they bring the dishes to your table. You pay at the end after the meal. I'd definitely come back.

Great Thai food in South Bay! We ordered for take out but service was great and quick, and they kept our food warm. We didn't sit inside, but it seemed like there was decent seating if you wanted to dine in. The food was very good & portions were generous! Great if you're looking for something open late!

Absolutely love Tommy Thai! Their portions are a surplus in portions for the price and my usual is pad see ew and pad Thai. In this occasion I got tom Kha soup and it is mouth watering! Their service is top notch and the ambiance is always inviting :)

The food was really good, the pad Thai wasn't my favorite but I still really enjoyed it. Their pineapple fried rice and papaya salad was excellent though! This is my favorite Thai spot in the area that I've been able to find! Can't wait to try more of their food!

Such a cozy little spot with warm vibes and friendly service -- perfect for a casual lunch or dinner with family. The Spicy Catfish was absolutely amazing, packed with flavor and heat. The Garlic Butter Noodles were a huge hit with the kids -- simple, buttery, and perfectly cooked. We also loved the Chicken Satay -- tender, tasty, and a crowd-pleaser for both kids and adults. The Tom Yum Soup was spot-on -- savory, tangy, and super satisfying. Next time I'm definitely going to try their higher spice levels! For dessert, the Mango with Sticky Rice was nice and fresh, though a scoop of ice cream would've made it perfect. Generous portion sizes make it easy to share dishes, especially if you're dining with a larger group. Overall, a great spot for flavorful Thai comfort food and a cozy family lunch/dinner!

first time in and it was an amazing shared meal. the servers were so kind and attentive. i really appreciated the cold glass bottle of water served to the table, didn't have to wait for water refills! the music playing was tasteful and banger after banger! i highly recommend and hope you have as much of a great time as we did ! my uncle who showed me Tommy Thai has been dinning in since 2017

Peanut Sauce Chicken

Unassuming spot with a tiny parking lot. I see half the business are from to-go order pickups on a Wednesday night. The portions were big and food was solid. This is your straight forward, no fluff Thai comfort food. I never had peanut sauce chicken before but I love peanut butter and dishes. This ran too sweet and I'm sure has cups of sugar in it. Pad See Ew was decent. Spicy Basil Fish had big pieces of fish and lots of peppers too. I would definitely come back if I'm in the area and craving Thai food.

Jenny no customer friendly. Not comfortable in this uncomfortable environment with waitress Jenny. Walks away if we ask too many questions. I regret coming here

Perhaps the best restaurant in Mountain View. Good blend of tasty food and reasonable price. Try the roti and the pineapple fried rice!

Ask the Community - Tommy Thai

What dish would you recommend trying here?

For entrees, Green Curry with coconut rice, Pad Thai or Pineapple Fried Rice. (choose chicken, tofu, or shrimp) For appetizers, Fresh Rolls chicken/tofu or house made fried…

Is there a picture how the dish - bbq pork, chicken and beef look like? Just so I see what I'm ordering. Thanks

Did Tommy Thai turn off their Eat24? I usually rely on that to order from and every time I try to place an order it tells me that they are closed and that I can pre order for the next day. :/

Inside is small so our large group needed reservations. The dining room was small and echoes a lot so those uncomfortable with noise be ware. A little chatter and light talking will get loud fast. Our waiter was very patient with our group making suggestions and bringing out water quickly. We ordered quite a few items off the menu plus two bottles of wine. The dishes are single entree size. Unique items were the loat cha which were thick tapioca noodles with chicken and veggies. The sausage trio was also different with turmeric flavors and deeper spices in the meats. The amok was a savory soufflé with some kind of fish inside. The durian rice was a dessert and the durian fragrant is strong for those who love this fruit. This place is more for intimate small group dining. The staff are great at accommodating though.

They were pretty one-note in flavor and felt underwhelming. The crab fried rice and Panang braised beef were both enjoyable, but neither dish was particularly memorable or something I'd go out of my way to order again. The braised beef itself was tender, but it was served in large chunks that didn't make for the most appetizing presentation. The Thai iced tea was also noticeably sweeter than what I'm used to, which may work for some people but wasn't my preference. One thing that stood out for the wrong reason was the pacing of the meal. Our crab fried rice arrived first, followed by the curry puffs, and then the Panang beef came out last. The timing felt disjointed, especially since you'd expect the appetizers to arrive before the entrées. The biggest issue, though, is the value. The prices are on the higher end for Thai food, and when the overall experience is just average, it's hard to justify the cost. Nothing was bad, but nothing really stood out either. Overall, it was an okay meal, but with so many great Thai restaurants around, I don't see myself coming back.
