Tom Wood treats customers like guests. I love that when I had my car serviced today, I was walked to my car that had been freshly washed. I also have found in 26 years of their service, that they are always polite, friendly and seem to genuinely care about me as a customer. I would never buy a car anywhere else. read more

If I could rate them less than a zero I would, long story short had an appointment to test drive a jeep they had for sale, first red flag they didn't have an appointment for me, even though I had an email from them confirming. So the sales guy had to go to another lot to get, no worries 7 minutes top he said.....well 30 minutes later I got to test drive, which was good. It was being sold a wholesale, so still on the fence. I asked if I could schedule an extended test drive for in the morning to have my mechanic look at it, after all I do live 75 minutes away. Sure thing, but there is someone here to look at it as we speak, ok thanks for letting me know. 2 minutes later, ya know what I just told my wife that has been waiting in the car with my toddler that I was going to buy it, so lets do it. Sales lady that was showing the car to someone else strolls through and my salesman says we are going to run his credit so he can purchase, Why would you do that my guy is a mechanic and is going to buy. But wait i'm still here and have been here now for over 2 hours, I would like to buy and I assume since I was here first I could still do that, sorry nope you missed your chance. Well she ended up storming off I am assuming to go get the manager, since like 3 minutes later he was in the office telling me their was nothing he could do because he couldn't take the keys away from the other guy, but yet that is what was done to me. These guys dont care about you just about getting a sale and their commission im assuming. Im sorry it took me 120 seconds to say yes I wanted to buy it. What a classless establishment, I wouldn't do business with them. Just left an overall bad taste in my mouth. read more

Extremely frustrating. Been working with Corbin. Had a tire repair. They didn't have the tire in stock so had to order it and come back. Came back for my scheduled appointment and they'd sold the tire they ordered for me to another customer, so now had to wait another 2 days and come back again. Then, unfortunately, had a rock crack my windshield the same week. My insurance covers the windshield repair but Tom Wood doesn't have it in stock, has to order it, and said it's on national backorder so they said it would likely be months until they get one in. I told Corbin to go ahead and order it since insurance would cover it, but they refused to order the part. They wanted to be paid upfront for the windshield AND the repair ahead of time even though they said it would be months before they do the work. Insurance won't pay for a "promised" repair, only a completed repair. The entire thing is ridiculous. They want to be paid in full for work they didn't complete. I asked Corbin to work with my insurance on a solution. He didn't bother, just said that they needed the money upfront for the "promised" repair, which, understandably, insurance isn't willing to cover. read more

I would give 5 stars to sales and service writers. Having used this location to purchase 7 vehicles over22 years, my issue is repairs and problems. I get all my maintenance here by the book and willingly over pay due to the customer service excellence. Whenever my vehicle had an issue forget it. I had to always always make multiple visits to resolve it. Only by persisting could I finally convince them to actually fix the problem utilizing the ". Specialist". This recent experience was for my towed in nonstarting 2013 GX. An estimate of 19,000.00 !!!! For inaccurate diagnostics and unnecessary replacement rather than repair. I towed car to outside mechanic who found 2 bad fuses and was able to repair the wire harness I have lost all faith and trust In this dealership. I tried to reach out to manager and my mechanic did too just to let them know about the repair shop. no reply read more

After several failed attempts to work with Lexus dealers in and around the Chicagoland area, we had reached out to Tom Wood Lexus to inquire about a particular RX 450h we were interested in. While they didn't have the specific model available, they did have several others models and were willing to work with us and honor a purchase program we had available to us. Initially, we didn't hear back right away and I figured it was just another "ghosted" inquiry, but they came back with a quote that was exactly in the range we expected. Being situated in Chicago, Derrick and the team were great to work with and responsive in any questions we had. Really appreciated being able to work out a majority of the paperwork virtually/over the phone and so that when picking up the car, it was just a matter of a quick car inspection, test drive and final signatures. Also a shout out to their tech guy Steve for helping me with my lease return and taking time to go over a lot of the high tech features in the new car. Very impressed with the mobile phone integration and getting some quick training on how to use some of the voice commands & activate Siri/Google. I would highly recommend Tom Wood Lexus for a purchase or lease. The overall process never felt pushy or standoff-ish, which I think has a lot to do with that they don't work off commission. Anyhow, I know where I'm coming when the time calls for a second car. 'Til next time, cheers! read more

The service at Tom Wood Lexus is horrible. UNLESS YOU WANT TROUBLE go somewhere else for service. I took my car in every $5000 miles and at 20,000 I have 4 cupped tires. Travis said it was due to the first guy that replaced my tire but he is not here anymore. How is that my problem, he worked for Tom Wood Lexus? They rotated my tires and did the point inspection. Went to another service place and my car alignment was out of alignment even now. Before going to another service dept I requested a call back from Lexus almost every day for 2 weeks. They have record of my call back request as I used the online service. Two weeks later still no call back. The online request even shows you the record of how many times you have requested the call back. read more

We were driving from Chicago and our check engine light came on. I called and they were so responsive. Mike took such great care of us! They recognized that having a 2yr old and a six year old and a breakdown were extremely inconvenient. They have an amazing kids area and the snacks were stocked. Thankfully it was a minor issue and they got us back on the road within two hours. Their service department rocks!!! read more

Very professional car crew (not the ones with the suits). Do be prepared to wait half an hour or more longer than however long they say it'll be because every single time I'm told over the phone it'll be an hour, by the time my scheduled day and time arrive it always suddenly changes to 1 1/2 to 1 hr & 45 minutes, EVERY TIME. Also be prepared to be surrounded by pretty grouchy men inside. No hello, no smiles, just stares and stoic looks like they definitely need some coffee, however, doesn't bother me. I make no eye contact and sip on some delicious Starbucks they offer for free, probably to compensate for their over-priced oil change. Other than that, the whole car crew staff (not the ones with suites) are very professional and kind and I always know my car is being well taken cared of...trust me, I check! A little over priced for oil change? Yup! But worth it in my eyes (even without the usual wash which I haven't gotten the last 2 oil changes) just as long as it doesn't go any higher than the current charge. I'll definitely be back in about 4 months. read more

I arrived at my 1:45 pm appointment and was met by associate who hurriedly took my info and instructed me to wait in customer waiting room. I was only scheduled for a Safety Inspection so I was prepared to wait while service was being done. After 5 minutes, my service advisor, Kevin, called my name and directed me to his office. After gathering some information from me, since this was my first visit with their service department, Kevin informed me of the different Inspections available and I chose the FREE Safety Inspection instead of the $170 15 point instructed. He then told me that it take approximately ONE HOUR and to return to waiting area and that there were snacks and drinks available. The ladies room and waiting room are well lit and there's also a Cafe but it was closed due to Covid. While waiting I noticed that Good Bones, a local mother/daughter house flipping team, was on HGTV and that Indy Star published on article about them in the paper that morning. As I was waiting I so engrossed in the show's marathon that I didn't realize that 3 hours had passed! After locating Kevin in the service area, and waiting about 5 minutes until he assisted another customer, we returned to his office and he informed me that he was doing multiple jobs and that there was a mixup and I that I had received the 15 point inspection and that there was a special running at the time so it would be free to charge. I really felt bad for Kevin because he was doing several jobs that clearly someone else should have been doing. I understand that there's a shortage of employees at many businesses but there should have been better communication. AND to top things off, then next day I noticed that the air pressure in my tires were not insic and that two of my valve caps were missing. I was informed that I would need two new front tires but I guess the inspection didn't include checking the tires for accurate pressure. NOTE: Masks are not worn by employees! Kevin put his on because I was wearing one. read more

I had the best experience buying my new Lexus at Tom Wood Carmel In. That great experience was because of my Wonderful and very patient sales associate, Sam Shobe. I wasn't expecting to leave with a New Car. I was only looking and comparing different SUVs so I could decide on the perfect one for me. Sam made me feel very comfortable and made the transaction very stress free. I will definitely refer people to him. I have really enjoyed having my new Lexus. Thank you Sam!!!!! Here's a shout-out to Tom Wood Lexus and their Service Department. Having read concerns with pricing at TW Lexus Service Dept, it's true. Dealer Service Dep't are more expensive than non-dealer service mechanics. But if it was just comparing $$, it's a wash but it's more about ensuring a Lexus is serviced by a mechanic who knows Lexus vehicles and not only fixes the issue but knows what else to look for or has historical knowledge about what needs to be looked at. I'm a one-time 20 yr Lexus owner and continue to use Tom Wood Service Dept to service my Lexus. I've spent plenty on service and could have saved plenty going to non-dealer service mechanics but TW Lexus has gone way abouve and beyond caring for me car that it validates the decision to stay with the dealership. Because I do use TW Lexus Service is why I still drive my 2006 GS daily and it's why using a Lexus Dealer to service a Lexus is why the car is in the condition it is in. They (John, Jordon, ...service mechanics) know my car, see what's coming next and keep me informed with each drive through. Their service department is 5-stars each day, every day. I've lived through the transition of Service Advisers and the next-up Advisor has always held the same standards. For past 5-ish years, its been Dakota Almeida and he represents everything Lexus stands for. Significant gratitude to his professionalism and passion for representing the Lexus standards. I just met the new(?) Service Manager (Alexis) and wow- she she personally assisted me on a recent unscheduled drive-through for a check-engine light and did so on an extremely busy Friday afternoon. I didn't know her nor she probably didn't know me but she personally got a service technician to break free, read the codes and gave me the green light for a scheduled stop by next week. All of these reasons are why you simply don't compare servicing your Lexus solely on the cost. And, assuredly, TW Lexus would most likely find a way to negotiate or navigate the cost however possible. read more

Called their service department today to get an estimate to do some maintenance on my Lexus. I had done some research on several auto forums about what others were paying/quoted for the same services. Most of the responses from customers who had the same work done were in the $1500-2000 range. The price I was quoted was $3700 to replace the timing belt and water pump!!! ARE YOU SERIOUS? This is probably a 2-3 hour job for a dealership mechanic. And the same OEM factory parts that the dealer uses for this job can be purchased for under $200. This is exactly why you should AVOID THE DEALER, and ESPECIALLY THIS ONE, WHENEVER POSSIBLE UNLESS YOUR VEHICLE IS UNDER WARRANTY. read more

Back in Feb, I had my vehicle in for some work, and I talk to a sales person to see about getting something new. I was told I would be placed on a "wish list", and I would be contacted with more information. Weeks went by with only e-mails saying "no news yet". After 2 months, I get a call that are going to have a vehicle that I can come and see, but I can't test drive it because it is already sold. I start asking questions like how many people are ahead of me on the list- "we can't tell you" How many of this model are you getting a month - "we can't tell you" After the third month with no information, I visited 3 other luxury dealers, test drove , and found out I could be in anyone of those 3 in less than a month I called my contact here, told him the new information about the competition, asking if he could give me ANY news as we were 4 months in, only for a "we can't tell you anything" Well now I am driving a new SUV that IS NOT from Tom Wood read more

I guess you get zero stars when you give zero effort or customer service. Our experience was short, but not sweet. Also, right on par with one of the last reviews. We drove in, in a Lexus. Looking to see what we could get for a trade in. Physically got out of the the vehicle. Someone asked if we brought BBQ (TN plates), then proceeded to walk away. We walked the lot looking for new options for 15 minutes. Made eye contact with numerous people, but not a single salesperson came to assist. Given we could have also asked, but you go to a dealership to shop and you need a car salesperson to sell you what you're shopping for. It's not like we could have made a purchase on our own. Hmm very strange. read more

I would like it to be known that @tomwoodlexus is the devil's preferred dealer. Maybe that's why they are so souless. I've had a longstanding issue with #tomwood for years (long story short, they refused to honor a warranty that had been extended by a court ordered settlement -- the manufacturer finally performed the repair when I waived the court order under their nose, but Tom Wood STILL refused to do it). Anyway, I extended an olive branch this week and tried to buy a car on their lot. I was told, "Sorry there is absolutely no room for movement on the price," and then they gave me the lowest offer of my trade-in that I had received so far. But the pièce de résistance? It was yesterday morning that I was told they couldn't budge on price. Today, I found out that they dropped the price online by $500 within a couple hours of my conversation with the sales rat, Doug. Nice outfit you are running there, @tomwoodlexus. And the sad part? We should be friends. I'm a loyal Lexus purchaser. This was going to be my third in a row. You would think that Lexus dealership would prioritize a customer who is committed to their brand. EDIT: They dropped another $550 a few days later. So the "rock bottom" price actually had more than $1000 of wiggle room evidently. read more

This is my favorite dealership and location in all of Indiana! Their service is top notch. I love the feeling of luxury Everytime I step into the building. Everyone treats us like a valued customer. I've been to the Lexus in Fort Wayne (absolutely terrible and do not recommend) and no place can compare to the Carmel location. I purchased my car from the Carmel location and I'm so glad I did. If you're there for service or purchasing, they have snacks and a coffee station that's actually really nice. I was thoroughly impressed with the technology guy. He is also available if you need a refresher on your vehicles technology. This is soooooo different from other dealerships where they weren't even sure what the buttons did. I wish I was kidding. We had so many bad experiences at other dealerships and this place was a breath of fresh air. We went in today for our 10k mile complimentary service. Their agent reached out to me via phone and text to set it up. She was incredibly friendly and made everything very convenient. I give Tom Wood Lexus only one star. If I could give them less stars I would. I bought my 2016 LS460 from Tom Wood about a month ago. They were very nice and cordial with me until they handed over the keys to the car. After the money was transferred over from LFS it was like I didn't exist to them. It's a shame that someone would pay $40,000 plus for a certified used car and receive the treatment that I received. First of all I traveled from Chicago to pick up the car after searching for that particular model and color. I found the one I liked at Tom Wood. The y all seemed nice while at the dealership then all of a sudden everything went down the tubes. The car was delivered with one key fob. When I asked about the second key fob I was told to just go online to amazon and eBay and order another. Since this car was a lease return, both key fobs should have been returned when the car was turned in. Why only one was passed on to me I do not know. Another thing was the detailing of the car. Since the car is black, it was obvious that the car had been buffed at some point before the online pics were taken. When we were doing the walk around for the car after my money was taken there were some pretty noticeable blemishes that were overlooked when this car was detailed. The salesperson told me 'oh that will go away after the car is washed and waxed again. One month later I can still see these blemishes in the paint. The straw that broke the camels back happened when I inquired about the plates that were supposed to come to me. I was told that the plates would come to the dealer then they would be overnighted to my home. My plates came directly from the state and they were the wrong plates. I was given B-truck plates for a sedan. Since my temporary tag was getting close to expiring I once again contacted the dealer to see what they could do because my temp tag was about to expire. THEY DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!! I was told to contact the state and take care of the matter myself. The salesperson did go as far as tell me that 'this happens all the time because of the weight of the car, that it's sometimes confused with a truck'. When I went to the DMV and told them of this story they indicated that this was absolutely bull crap. The dealership totally screwed up your registration and is trying to blame it on someone else. I figured that was the case but I had a registration that was no good to me and a temp tag that was about to expire in less than a week. I had to come out of my pocked with additional $$$$ to have this taken care of. Not a good thing considering I already paid for this service to be done. Now this is where I was really impressed. Had a very lovely sitting room with a cafe, complimentary coffee, and a quiet room! I called Tom Wood Lexus to have my oil changed and there was an issue with my key. The car kept telling me "low power in key". I mentioned that issue when I schedule my appointment with yawning customer service rep. When I arrived, I was greeded with a smile and everything seemed good. I mentioned to "my" mechanic again an oil change and battery replacement in key. He returned and suggested to do 100k mile service and that their mechanic had all the parts in place. I agreed because I was already there. They did not provide a loaner and told me total time would be an additional 2-3 hours. Since I live very close, I asked to drive me home. They did (thank you). Two hours later received a phone call, and $850+ later my car was complete and they'd deliver it to my home. when my car was delivered, I asked "my" mechanic if he'd changed the battery in my car keys? He looked me in the eye and said "I personally exchanged your battery". I thanked him and he was picked up by another vehicle and drove away. I started my car and guess what??? My car says "key battery low" so pretty much the problem that I had before still persists! The invoice I was given indicated how they changed an added many fluids etc but my main issue with my key was never addressed! What is shocking is how their mechanic who was looking me in the eye lied about changing a battery in my key when in reality he didn't! I called the mechanic the next day, left voice mail. NOBODY called me back! Ever! read more

Went for my 30k mile check up today. The customer service alone is enough reason to visit a Lexus dealer. I knew I needed an oil change but thought a check up wouldn't hurt. He kept me up to date and informed through the process. I will NEVER use Tom Wood for anything! They damaged the tire pressure sensor on my car, and actually called me to ask if I wanted it repaired for nearly $250. I had to reach a manager and let them know that I didn't have car in for a tire sensor light since there was nothing wrong with it when it was dropped off. Keep in mind they pulled every tire off of the car to correct the rims, and some other things. So, I knew they had damaged it, but still wanted me to pay for their mistake. They did end up covering the cost, but I just do not trust them at all......that was my first and last time there. They want $1500 to replace a strut! Yes, one strut!! I know the "tech" at Tom Wood was racing my car as well. I can tell by the avg fuel use. I drive normal and avg between 19 and 20 miles per gallon. When I picked it up it said 17 mpg. So, in a matter of them driving my car literally 4 miles my MPG went down by 3 miles??? Not a great company in my opinion. The only plus to using them is the loaner car.....That's it! I was going to use them for the timing belt replacement but that's not going to happen. Every place I have called has quoted way less. I could go on and on how bad they are but people believe they are best because they are the most expensive. read more

I have a 2003 rx300 in *pristine* condition. I just crossed 100k miles on her, it's an amazing car and has been well taken care of from the get go. Now, I don't know if my experience with Tom Wood Lexus is because I'm a young woman or because my car is old but here's my story. I came in to get my oil changed, tail light replaced and new wiper blades, scheduled my service in advance for 7:30am and arrived on time. When I arrived, even though there were 15 employees in the garage I had to get out of my car to track one down to check in (every one else who pulled up behind me was greeted immediately). A woman got my info brought me to her office and said "it will be an hour" and then just walked away. I walked to the sitting area and watched no less than 10 other people be walked to the sitting area, asked if they wanted coffee, if they needed anything and then checked on at least once (usually twice) and informed about what was going on with their car. After sitting there for 1.5 hrs this woman motioned me over to her office again, told me that they ran into some trouble with the tail light but they fixed it and gave me the price, etc. then gave me my keys and I was off. It would be one thing if no one else was given good service, but literally every single other person was given exemplary service except me. They assumed that because I'm young and have an old car I'm not someone who's a$$ should be kissed so I'd spend money there. HOWEVER, joke's on them. This old car is our utility vehicle because I love to garden and we don't want to get our nice car dirty. Our nice car's lease is up in January and we want to buy another Lexus...guess we will be headed up to Chicago or to Atlanta for that. read more

They tell you they will beat your cash offer for your used car and they tell you we are a one stop shop ie the sales rep will do everything including financing. Well that's not my experience. THEN THESE Guys TRY TO ADD $458 for a blinking rear center brake tail light bulb that cost ten bucks. Overall, this dealership is good. There were a few bumps along the way ... a few feelings of being insulted by the nature of their "negotiating" ideals ... but I have to say ... Shary - the gal who teaches you how to use your car's features and functions, was fantastic! Can't say enough good things about her. The guy who wrote up all the paperwork, and had it all signed on the dotted line, was friendly, laid back, and seemed genuine. We were VERY put off by the guy who is the supervisor to the sales rep we worked though. He was her supervisor ... after feeling completely insulted over the trade-in value they offered us, and wanting to discuss the incredible low-ball figure we were given ... he behaved as if we were out of our minds, and was short and curt about the whole thing, and after we declined their offer he walked away as if he could care less about our business even though we'd been there more than two and a half hours, and drove and hour and a half to get there! The sales rep, Victoria, was new to the dealership, was professional, polite and doing her best. She did speak out of turn a couple of times on items we later debunked, but did cause some confusion and ill feelings initially. A little more etiquette training would resolve that, as she was otherwise very pleasant to deal with. After three days of back and forths, debunking some of what we were told initially, and finding new ground to negotiate on ... we did purchase the vehicle - a 2010 RX 350, and traded-in the 2004 RX 330.
