I dropped my Hyundai Santa Fe off on a Friday morning to diagnose an issue with my gas tank. On Monday morning I was told the problem was with the fuel evap charcoal vapor canister. Friendly, fast oil change and tire rotation. According to my dash, I needed the rear differential fluid replaced. This is usually a more expensive service than your typical fluid top off. Ty and his team checked to see if my car needed it and it didn't! Instead of doing it anyway and charging me for it, Ty was honest and said it didn't need it. I just called to find out how much for an oil change using my own supplies. I've done this elsewhere for $15 for probably 15 yrs or more. I was told by Ty's that it would be $38! That is about what it would probably cost for a regular oil change without my own supplies, and for regular oil, not the synthetic that I use. What a RIP-OFF! When I had called maybe a year or more ago to check out their pricing, they had quoted me $20, so I just kept going to my old place. What substantiates the rise from $20 to $38? Nothing. It's obvious that they do not want the business and I find this absolutely unbelievable! I wanted to find another shop in the area to switch to, and this would have been the perfect way to do it! Ty's totally failed in this, and I am absolutely not impressed in any positive way. Very negative; watch out! read more

The guys at Ty's keep my car alive. I've had many problems with my 2002 Ford Focus (rusted brake line, muffler, key problems, transmission selenoid) and they did it all! This is the perfect auto shop for your one stop fix, and I recommend it to any of my college friends needing some car work. Even though they can get busy, they always find time to work on my car and get it done sooner than expected. When they couldn't fix my transmission selenoid, they referred me to a guy close who they trusted and would do it for a good price. When I texted them (frantically) about my key issues, they texted back and told me what they thought the issues were. The guys here truly care! Their location on Keystone is in a perfect spot for students or anyone in the Butler-Tarkington neighborhood. They have a key drop, which is also perfect for those students with crazy schedules! Fantastic service and reasonable prices! Literally half the price than what you'll pay at a dealership, for the same work! Make sure you call ahead to ask about availability and make your appointment. They were able to get me scheduled in just a few days, and I dropped my car off the night before which was so convenient! They asked for my car to be there first thing in the morning (8 am) but dropping it off the day before was much easier for me to do. They finished my car by the following afternoon and boom, all done!! The staff were super friendly and everyone wore masks while interacting with me. They also offer hand sanitizer at the counter. While at Auto Zone buying windshield wipers, and not knowing how to install them, one of the employee's from Ty's helped me out. When asked if I could pay him, he said, "No" just come visit us he next time you have car trouble. Well, one of the lights on my dashboard went on so I remembered Ty's and went there during my lunch. Ty, himself, helped diagnose the light, explained what was wrong, and what my options were. I am impressed with this car shop. They got me in and out in an hour for an oil change And for less than the quoted price!. It was a little hard to get an appt. I Had to wait for about 3 weeks for my first visit (seems their regulars have priority) after moving to this area.. but after getting there the office is clean..nice waiting room w/ coffee machine, clean bathrooms and a separate area w/ a desk .. no door..for anyone needing to conduct business while waiting.
