Everything is vegan. Everything is delicious. Everything is made with love, quality and care. Tucked away in a small plaza lot on the corner of Riverside Drive/Camarillo Street on the west side of Toluca Lake, bordering North Hollywood this true hidden gem some of the world's best desserts, goodies and items. Showing you that all baked goods can be incredibly delicious, rich and enjoyable with all plant-based awesomeness. Gluten-free friendly as well. Parking lot is small, but this place is massive in energy. Check them out on Instagram (they're on Facebook as well, but not active there). Incredible reels, posts and info on all their offering on IG and here. Conchas are 10/10!! Stay tuned for yummy pics :) Open 7:30 am almost everyday (9am on Sundays only) until 7:30 pm on Mondays as well as Wednesday through Saturday. Closed by 5:30pm on Sundays and Tuesdays only.

What a gem. A vegan and gluten free gem. So many delicious baked options you will want to have one of everything. My good friends recommended this place and I needed some dessert for a gathering later - all vegan folk! They have a ton - conchas, turnovers, danishes, muffins, cookies, etc etc. I got a couple of items, a vegan chocolate babka roll, and an apple tart. Affordable for a treat and the service was helpful when my brain exploded - the bakers in the back gave me a warm greeting too! I saw they have tamales, so I got one of each to share: beans with green sauce, beans with red sauce, vegan cheese with jalapeños, and jackfruit with red sauce. Inside is small with no seating but that's ok - it's clean, well stocked, and smells so tasty! Two very enthusiastic thumbs up!

Love this little Vegan bakery! Everything is wonderful from cherry pie to conchas you cannot go wrong! And wonderful Holiday gift boxes! They also have gluten free baked goods as well! Family owned and operated always helpful, friendly service as they serve the wonderful selection of baked goods that they proudly make in shop!

We threw a charity event at my company that required vegan options and Toluca is the best place to get a variety of yummy treats! I promise you the vegan baked goods went faster than the non vegan options that my coworkers brought Anytime my friends drive by I beg them to stop and get me cookies or conchas because I don't live in the area but I promise it's worth it

Tiramisu was not good. It tastes like artificial pecan flavor. It's nothing like Tiramisu. The cookies were not good. They were gluten free. The cookie was dense and heavy. The flavor was not recognizable.I've been gluten free for many years and I threw these in the trash. I also tried the apple pie. The filling was already sweet .The thick sugar on top was excessive. It was sickening sweet. Two bite was enough without the sugar. On a positive note they looked nice.

They made my cake dreams come true. We ordered their tres leches with strawberries and each slice was perfectly executed. I highly recommend this bakery.

I never should have gone here! I think to myself, yet my regrets are fleeting as I bite into the crisp flakey crust of the vegan gluten free guava (MF'ING GUAVA!!!) empanada. The crust juxtaposed a beautiful garnet colored smooth perfectly sweetened and flavored jelly of guava. These never make it home and to say I'm addicted is an understatement! The first step is to admit you have a problem, and each time I enter this place my spending here has only increased! My addiction started innocently enough as I drove by this place countless times. Then it escalated to well let's try one of their treats on my first encounter and I ended up buying two things the cornerstone culprit of my addiction the gf guava empanada and a concha. The next visit 2 gf guava empanadas and 2 of the savory empanadas! Now the third visit another gf guava empanada, a jackfruit tamale, and a slice of the gf gransito tres leches cake as I'm now plotting a birthday cake! I am in tears I can't stop and I'm weeping with joy at my what now seems weekly habit of acquiring a gf guava empanadas at one of the best brick and mortar vegan bakeries! The gentleman running the front is great with answering my questions and there's way too much to try out here as they have a pillowy soft brioche bread )that I'm avoiding eye contact with) and even challah bread loafs! There's cookies, tarts, and various varieties of the savory treats too! There's just so much to try and I don't think there's a Toluca Bakery Anonymous group yet so...it looks like I'm going to keep this addiction. LOL

I'm vegan and needed a cake for my birthday. Browsed a lot and contacted a couple places, Toluca Bakery was the most responsive, helpful and with good prices. My tiramisu cake was ready when they said it would, looked great and everyone at my party liked it!

I stumbled upon this incredible bakery while waiting for my cheeseburger from Jack's Burger stand out front. I grabbed a box of random pastries and absolutley loved each one. It wasn't until my next visit that I realized it's a Vegan bakery! Honestly, I couldn't even tell the difference! Delicious pastries and fantastic service. Highly recommend!!

Love this place! It's an all vegan Mexican bakery and I'm here for it! The have have a big selection of pan...my favorite is and has always has been is the piggy so I always get one of those. And no trip is complete without getting some fresh homemade tamales. Verdes are my absolute fav. This place is so good and authentic that my Tia's were surprised when I told them it's all vegan. Great, friendly service and a convenient parking lot to boot.

Ask the Community - Toluca Bakery

Is the price the same for vegan and gluten-free items?

Hi Chris , the vegan and gluten free section is more expensive than just the vegan section. Depending on what you get could be $1-3 difference

    Any gluten free pastries?

Yes, they have a whole dedicated area to gluten-free pastries. My fiancé is gluten-free and vegan and he had tons of options.

    Do you have roscas?

They do. They have an Instagram page that shows their different pastries.

    Do you have champurrado?

    Sorry we don’t serve champurrado

Do you have items that would be safe for a peanut allergy?

Do they make dairy-free birthday cakes?

Yes! This is an entirely vegan bakery.

I'm from the Bay Area but I've been to Cafe Dulce several times. My wife and I really like their Hong Kong Tea Latte and their Matcha drink, as well as their various donuts and baked goods. In the morning rush they can be a little busy but the staff work hard. On a recent visit I saw people eating their steak breakfast burritos, so I ordered one for myself and a coworker. The burritos were reasonable size, the steak was seasoned well, and the breakfast burrito had potatoes in it (I only like breakfast burritos that have potatoes/hash browns/tots in it). Keep supporting the classics, not just because they've been around for a while, but because they have strong products and service.

Mochi Twist ($5)-- Nice and dense mochi texture? I guess it's hard to describe but it's not hollow and airy like a typical donut. There's some chew to it. And it's not too sweet! Blueberry Roti ($4)-- Flaky crumble on top and blueberry jam?? YES YESSSS. I liked this so much I'd definitely go back for it. Blueberry jam is so underrated and it's rare to find it in a pastry! Makes for a good sweet lil treat. Hot latte ($5)-- Perfect!! No complaints. Not too milky, not too light. Good ratio. I was actually kind of worried ordering a latte because not every place does it right but it's good here! Iced blueberry matcha ($6?)-- I see lots of good things about this drink on here but ooooooof... it missed the mark and by a LOOOT too. It was green sweet cereal milk. Where's the matcha? Where's the blueberry? It was so confusing because I see the green and I know I ordered matcha... but it's just sweet milk! And it's not even blueberry flavored milk. Did they forget the blueberry jam? Syrup? Whatever they use? Because it just tastes like the milk after a bowl of Frosted Flakes or something like that. Very sad, very disappointing. Ended up tossing after a couple sips. ANDDD for those matcha purists this is NOOOT the place for you! They have it pre mixed in a milk gallon. So we just saw green milk coming out of a gallon into this cup like yeppppp ok expectations immediately lowered. Anyways, hot latte is good and the 2 pastries I got were good! Steer clear of the matcha!!!

It's relatively busy but the line moved swiftly. The Larchmont store was pretty lively with the crowded and colorful wall deco! It's pretty fun to see that they came up with more seasonal items lately and most of them nailed it well when they came to cookies. Previously the lemon one and the most recent was the Raspberry Pistachio which I was impressed by as I just fancied sweet and refreshing combo of white chocolate and raspberry. The pistachio added more texture to it for sure. Same as any Levain cookies, best enjoyed warm and fresh out of oven. The Cookie Milk Latte was actually the main reason bringing me here, yet I was bit let down by it as I was expecting more malty cookie flavor in the drink. I felt it tasted not much different to regular cream top latte with some cookie crumbles in it.

There were endless selection of salt bread and different flavoured buns which all looked delicious. As we were browsing and deciding, the lady at the counter was kind enough to offer us a sample of the butter rice cake. The butter tteok tasted pretty good on the spot so we bought a pack of 5 back home along with a hot and spicy salt bread and corn soboro. The butter rice cakes were already cold and hard when we got home, the inside was dense and chewy in a bad way. I didn't want them to go to waste so I tried reheating them in the over for a few minutes. It was warm but the texture never recovered, everything just got more dense and hard. The hot and spicy salt bread looked like a winner, but when we bit into it, the bread was just crunchy and overly buttery without a lot of flavour. The inside did not have the soft pillowy texture you'd expect from salt bread. The filling was a budget hot dog and some corn mixed with mayo. We cut the bread in half and my boyfriend said his piece had way too much mayo and mine barely had any. I grabbed the corn soboro thinking it would be delicious since it was corn season but was the most disappointed by it. I reheated the bread again to get the cookie top to crisp up. The soboro top didn't have a lot of crunch or flavour, it was just a layer of sweetness with no texture. The corn cream filling was not good, the corn was dehydrated and had no flavour at all. It honestly tasted a bit like canned corn that's over baked, I ended up scooping it out because the bread was better without it. Maybe it's better to go earlier when the baked goods are fresh and eat it there instead of taking it home.
