We are new to the area and were searching for a go to Asian restaurant . We were seated and before we even placed our order, the first thing we were asked was, "How will you be paying--cash or credit?" That set the tone. The two young women working there were very kind and professional. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for how the business itself is run. This was our first and last visit. The restaurant was empty when we arrived, yet it still took a surprisingly long time for the food to arrive. The food was mediocre at best. The vegetables were badly overcooked and soggy. On top of that, the restaurant charges an additional 3%+ fee for both credit card and ATM card payments. There is a camera pointed directly at the cash register that's connected to a motion sensor, which triggers a loud, constant ringing bell throughout your visit. It's incredibly distracting and borderline unbearable. The staff said they are not allowed to turn it off. When the bill arrived , we noticed an "18% fee " when asked we were told " It's kind of a tip." This was especially off-putting, as we normally leave a gratuity of 20% or more. The ambiance was decent although there were so many plants that covered up vital information that people need to know. Come prepared to have tip included regardless of the number in your party. the suggested gratuity in the ticket is 15% 18% or 20% but "they" chose 18% so we didn't have a choice. They advertised free biscuits or choice of spring rolls if over $50 and paying by cash which we were going to but after they added fees ex: credit card fees and their gratuity it went over more than the cash we had so had to end up using credit card. After paying the bill and preparing to leave another waitress came over to us and said we owed $4.00 for the "free" spring rolls which they should have taken out of the 18% gratuity we did not agree to. What an awful place. Ordered hibachi that I usually order at a different restaurant but wanted to try out a new place. First off, no appetizers. I'm used to a salad and miso soup. My usual place even serves edamame, pickled cucumbers, other small bites, a small pineapple smoothie, and six pieces of sushi to go off over $30. I'm not looking for that level of freebies but sheesh. The separate miso soup we ordered was watered down and tasteless. Our meals came out very fast and looked like it belonged on an express menu but even much worse. No doubt the worst I've ever had from any Asian restaurant. On top of that, they charge a credit card convenience fee and worst of all, an automatic 18% tip for two diners. Who does that. My first and last visit for sure. I was having a very busy day and stopped in for lunch. I ordered a dine in meal and 3 take out meals. The food was delicious! So much flavor! The inside of the restaurant is beautiful, comfortable and welcoming. The waitress was very nice but she didn't put in my take out order until after I'd finished eating. Like I said, it was a super busy day, I still had a few short stops left to do on my way back home. The location is very nice, and the decor on the inside is absolutely beautiful! They originally started off as a carryout, and the food was what you expected for a carryout. I ordered a Jasmine Milk Tea with Jelly Boba, Volcano Roll and Chicken Hibachi bowl. The server was very courteous and was concerned that I wouldn't like the Milk Tea (she has had a lot of complaints). She brought me both the milk tea and a Jasmine Honey Lemon. I actually realllllly liked the Milk Tea-a great Matcha flavor and the jelly was great. The Volcano roll was different with a thicker crust-I actually thoroughly enjoyed it and thought it was unique. When the Chicken Hibachi Bowl came out I was a little confused-not really the "normal Hibachi" I was expecting. The chicken looked like they kind of pre-prep it and then use a sauce to flavor. I am used to a butter/soy flavor with Yum Yum and Ginger sauce-they provided a Yum Yum like sauce, but no Ginger. The chicken was rubbery and flavorless and I am afraid it may have been microwaved. I am giving them 3 stars-FOR NOW. I am hoping that now that they are no longer carryout only, they may be able to expand how they make their food and I will try it again later. read more

Tokyo Grill on Maine Street in Suffolk is finally open for indoor dining. My wife and I were excited about going back. Prior to COVID we really liked the food and service there. The Chicken and Broccoli and the Shrimp and Broccoli were favorites. This afternoon we went back and had Chicken and Broccoli and Shrimp and Broccoli. The Broccoli was over cooked, the chicken didn't taste good and it was way too salty. Miso soup wasn't as good as before, avocado salad was drowned in dressing, sushi was good. Although not all great we ate everything except for the chicken and shrimp broccoli dishes. When the server asked how we liked the food my wife told her that the broccoli was over cooked and I told her it was too salty. The server laughed and said "so sorry". My wife said we aren't paying for something that isn't good and we didn't eat. The server said we had to pay. We told her to call the police which she did. Two Suffolk police officers showed up and very professionally negotiated between the parties. We offered to pay for the food that we ate, but the restaurant wanted to press charges for petty theft. We said go ahead, we hadn't stolen anything. After the police talked with them they agreed not to press charges, we paid the $30 for the food we ate and they still tried to get their 18% "service fee". Didn't pay it. Other restaurants would have not changed for the food we didn't like or eat and some would even give a discount coupon to return and give them another try. read more

They are very slow and the food isn't very good my son likes the general chicken so I he that for him. One time I got the chicken teriyaki sticks and they were very dry and tough not fresh. The fried rice isn't very tasty. Once I went to pick up the general chicken and a group of 4 walked out because they didn't want to wait 45 minutes for their food, there wasn't anyone else in the restaurant. Food is good most days.... However, I just spent over $100 on dinner to get home and realize that multiple items are not there and the only thing that was ordered for my kids was not prepared properly. Other items were stale and inedible. They had only been closed for a few minutes when I realized this I've called over and over and over again with no answer and I'm now on my way up there hoping to salvage my family's dinner. Hopefully someone will still be there that can help. Edit: So I went back the same night.but the only guy there was the gentleman who paid for the meat filled lol main we received but received my kids veggie instead. We used to come here weekly. Something changed during the pandemic, because when they reopened, this is literally the worst service I've ever experienced. Dined in last week, service was slow and inattentive. Our server was a teenaged girl who couldn't look up from her phone. Mostly of the tables were not bussed from previous customers. Dropped $140 on dinner for 5. Gave the the benefit of the doubt. Ordered takeout tonight. Said it would be 20 minutes. Again, place was full of un-bussed tables. Waited 40 minutes before asking. Was told beef lo mein is a 'specialty order', so it was taking longer. Lady already waiting got fed up, asked for a refund, was told they couldn't. Saw another other identical to mine come up, was told that had priority since it was online. What? Finally got fed up and asked for my own refund. Got told no. Service was most certainly friendly. The place was clean, spacious, and dim. For the price, the food & portions could be better. The menu was a combo of Japanese and Chinese options. I started with the Dumpling Soup & requested it spicy. I was either in the mood for soup or it was just good. The flavor of the broth was delicious. There were 4 dumplings & tasted really good. Not sure if they were homemade or frozen but, yummy in the soup. I would've been happy with just the soup. But no.....had to be greedy & ordered the Shrimp & Garlic lunch special. They are at least as good as China moon which I feel has been the apex for Asian food in southern Suffolk I have enjoyed every thing that I've ordered. I have a gluten allergy and as soon as I spoke to our waitress, she contacted her mother. She was awesome asked questions to be sure she understood exactly what I could have and not have. I have become a regular customer and never had a reaction to anything I've ate here. Highly recommend for anyone with or without an allergy to gluten. My husband loves the sushi and so do my girls. Came here all the time when the restaurant first opened, the owners knew us well. After a few years the wife of the cook stopped coming around and the children were made to take orders and bus tables. These kids are too young and HATE being there 24/7. They have no lives and it shows in how they serve you. No smiles, poor attitude, especially from the younger one. The older daughter used to know our orders perfectly and eventually she stopped caring too. Understandable. Gave the restaurant a few more chances to get it right (all i order is the bourbon chicken with no veggies) and they can't even get that right.
