Poke Bowl - Pick 3 (Salmon, Tuna, & Shrimp)

    | - Dine-In Review - | Once I've decided that I LOVE a lunch place, it pretty much becomes my go-to spot. Domoishi in Suffolk is definitely that and going 2+ years straight. Poke, Ramen, and Korean Wings are my favorite recs. You can order at kiosk or counter. I usually go with the pick 3 poke- what I love about this spot that makes it unique is that the portions of fish used are plump and fresh. I also love that the restaurant has an eel sauce (unagi sauce) option for mix-in sauce. Great for a sit-down lunch if you can snag a table or for take-out. Tip: try the mango or avocado (small extra charge) to really add to your bowl. Also, the gyoza is a great appetizer!

This Domoishi in downtown Suffolk is so great! The foods are so fresh and fulfilling, the place is so clean and the owners are super nice. Even the restroom is well maintained. My favorites here are the takoyaki, korean chicken, poke bowl and ramen. For desserts their milk teas are also so delicious with their chewy boba

I had a poke bowl, and it was absolutely delicious! Everything was very fresh - the spicy salmon, the tuna, the mango. I also added brown rice, spring mix, seaweed, pickled ginger, and nori sesame seeds. The manager/owner let me sample one of the drinks they had as fountain drinks. The cardamom one was refreshing. I also tried the Korean fried chicken (half spicy garlic and had soy garlic). I preferred the soy garlic thigh I don't eat much soy. They also serve "have it your way" ramen and bubble tea, which is super popular. The food didn't take long to receive, and the ambiance is awesome. They have a self-serve kiosk or you can order via the app or at the counter. It's very bright and modern. I love the red decor!!

Came here as a bite to eat on the road. I was skeptical considering they offered a broad range of foods from different countries. We came in looking for poke but opted for their ramen. It was a great choice.

Domoishi is clean, nicely decorated and has excellent service. They have ramen, poke, smoothies, tea, curry and wings. All of the 5.0 reviews got me into door and would give them more than five stars if able. Try this place....you'll love it!

I've tried the majority of the Poke restaurant in the Hampton Roads area and this place is my favorite spot! The quality of tuna is unmatched! Friendly staff and very clean restaurant.

Whether it's just the two of us or with a group, there have been no complaints on our end. Let's see how this visit went. We were seated once we walked in. Just like before, the decor was set up perfectly and each customer was taken care of by the wonderful staff making sure everyone was comfortable. No problems here at all. For the selections, we had pan-fried pork gyoza and I had chicken Katsudon for my entree (Sophia had her usual, chicken Katsu Ramen). Everything delivered was on point. Well-cooked and tasted great. I do wish I could add more, but when you eat regular dishes, there's nothing more to say. Thank you again Tanpopo Ramen for making Sophia and myself satisfied. Keep it up :)

I appreciated the simplicity of this place in that regard , the broth really talked for itself. Im not a fan of miso so I wasnt exactly sure if id like it, but like I said, best ramen ive ever had . Ive never had a good ramen egg either, sometimes they're just too egg-y or mucus like for lack of a better descriptor, I actually ate this ramen egg. It didnt taste like egg and had a very nice jello like texture, will be going back next time im in the area to try the katsu . Service was also very prompt & attentive. I was sat right away, I had my food within 10 minutes even though the place was a little busy since it was dinner time on a Saturday night, and the server was very nice. **Ramen excluded the nori**

I ordered the Kake Udon for me and two orders of steamed gyoza for my kiddo. I gotta say, I was surprised when the order arrived. The udon noodles were paper thin compared to what I'm used to. The fried tofu was so hard it was basically inedible, and the broth - well, it had little to no flavor. To top it off, my kiddo took a bite of one dumpling and then spit it out. This child DESTROYS dumplings, so I asked him what happened -- he said "who puts corn and carrots in a gyoza dumpling?!?" and I can't say I disagree with him. Pork and cabbage filling - duh! Overall, totally not our jam and we probably won't revisit it. I guess the reviews are based more on folks who haven't experienced true Japanese cooking? I don't know, but I'm pretty sure my Japanese host mother would have given it no stars.

Today I got the seafood ramen with mussels, clams and a couple of pieces of imitation crab sticks. The broth was warm and tasty, and spicy after adding generous spoonfuls of the chili oil, a must-add for cold, wet weather. I also snuck some bites of my husband's katsu-don and was a little jealous of how good it was. Next time I will get the katsu ramen bowl and have the best of both worlds. We also got sashimi and crab Rangoon for appetizers which everyone enjoyed. And my lychee ice tea was sooo good. It's a bit sweet but the lychee flavor was amazing and I can't wait to try the other flavors. Overall a great experience, especially after a day of traveling in chilly weather. Thank you for the great service and friendly welcome, can't wait to return!

I had the Ebi (shrimp) curry ramen. The curry was very flavorful but different than both Jamaican and Indian curries. I don't like that they keep the tails on the shrimp even though it's in the ramen. I also had salmon rice balls as well as Shumai. The shumai was good and so were the rice balls, but never having had rice balls, they weren't what I was expecting. I expected them to have meat in them but it was just rice with salmon flavored powder. We also added hot green tea to our meal. While not anything special, I do like to end my meal this way. The service was pretty good but we didn't like that our waitress stood next to our table from the moment we sat down. We felt pressured to hurry up and order, and it just made things awkward. She was very attentive though. This restaurant is your typical local Japanese style restaurant. Very authentic in its feel and decor - nothing fancy, basic service. But if you like more authentic type dishes vs chain restaurants, I think this is a place to try! Oh, I will also add this place was alot less expensive than places like Domoishi! I give it a 3 star because I feel neutral about it - not because anything was super wrong about it!
