Medium poke bowl to go
Jeannine C.

I'm obsessed with this Poke Bowl place! Most of the poke bowl establishments I have encountered here are already made Poke bowls, where you cant build your own and this one is a build your own! I'm giving it 4 stars because an employee started off our order kind of rude but later on became friendly. When I checked into Yelp they do have an offer where you will get a free can of Hawaiian Sun which is a beverage they carry. They are so good! You can also choose any flavor with this promotion as well. I ordered the medium bowl which consisted of 3 proteins which I doubled up on the salmon and added tuna yassss! The veggies and other toppings were so fresh and they have all kinds of oils, sauces and soy sauce to slather on top. Very fresh fish also, I think this is my new spot!

I don't eat poké all too often, but when I do it is a nice light refreshing treat. Pokétastic has been one of the better places I have gotten poké. There are two things I love about this place. One is that the workers are friendly, diligent, and patient. The man who fixed my bowl helped me with all my questions about what certain ingredients were and what they taste like. The second thing I liked about this place is that they take your meat and toss them in however many sauces you want (and they have an abundance of sauces to choose from), this gives their bowls and extra kick of flavor; moreover, I loved each and every bite of my bowl both time I've been in for lunch. All in all, Pokétastic is fantastic! PS: Don't forget to check in on Yelp and get your free can of Hawaiian Sun. The green tea with apple and ginseng flavor is everything.

Probably one of my favorite poke places in Hampton Roads. So glad a good one opened up in Chesapeake! Generous portions, fresh ingredients and super friendly staff- what more could I ask for? Like most poke restaurants it is build your own. If you know how you like your sushi, then you should find it easy to put together a pretty good bowl. I like my poke on the spicy side so I order the spicy salmon and top it with spicy sauce and Poketastic sauce which had a little kick! I would advise against overdoing the sides...you do not want to overwhelm the protein which I have done in the past. And don't forget to check in for your free Hawaiian Sun drink! Space is clean and modern. I've been here multiple times and definitely plan to return in the near future.

Poke is the next big thing and Poketastic does it very well. I stopped in for a takeout lunch and went a little berzerk. Starting off with a "large" bowl and then going double for two proteins. Spring mix base, salmon and salmon and tuna and shrimp, adding avocado (another $1 upcharge), shredded krab, cucumbers, cilantro, cabbage and their spicy mayo. All of that fits extremely well on my keto diet. So I had a meal that was not only delicious but also healthy. There's nothing wrong with that. [Review 10871 overall, 642 of 2019.]

Poketastic is fantastic! I haven't been in a little bit but the flavor is just as good as I remember - Awesome. We. both got a two protein build your own. The size of the container has shrunk. Definitely recommend them without hesitation.

BAY-BEE!! This place gave me my entire life!!! I loved everything about Poketastic, from the hilarious employees to the music that plays in the background. My favorite food is sushi and who knew I could get sushi in a bowl?? I saw this place while driving to a training one day and decided I would try it for lunch. After looking at the reviews I decided I would place an online order because I didn't want to be totally clueless when I got there. It was pretty easy though, you choose what you want in your bowl, much like Chipotle or Subway. If you don't eat raw salmon they can cook it for you, that's what I chose this time. I also added shrimp and everything I usually like in my sushi. They also serve chicken now. I got the small bowl, It was more than enough, I could actually get the xtra small bowl from now on. I just can't stop raving about Poketastic. It definitely lives up to its name!

I have been searching for the best poke in Hampton Roads. As a big fan of poke, Poketastic is the 5th poke restaurant that I've been to. I learned about this restaurant when a former coworker tagged me on their social media post and from then on, Poketastic was on my watch list as the next Poke restaurant that I wanted to visit. First and foremost, I think their Chesapeake location is perfect. They pretty much monopolize the poke business in Chesapeake and all the neighboring cities such as Virginia Beach and Suffolk. Also, they are located in Battlefield, which I think is one of the busiest street in Chesapeake. Poketastic is the only poke restaurant that I have been to that is very considerate to their customers. They offer toasted proteins if you are not a big fan of raw fishes, like me. They also serve chips as their base which is very unique. They offer more sauces compared to the other poke restaurants and they let you have extra sauces as well. They have a huge selection of toppings to choose from, which makes their bowls affordable. As for the drinks, there's a lot of options to choose from, especially if you prefer teas. For the portioning, their portions are huge. I normally order medium from other poke restaurants, but at Poketastic, I can't even finish the small. As for their food, you have to try the gochujang sauce mixed with your protein which will definitely make your bowl extra flavorful. You can tell that their fishes are fresh just by looking at their bright color. The restaurant is very trendy and has a rustic theme. Although the dining area is clean, the one of the things that stands out about this restaurant is their bathroom. The bathroom smells so good and it is very spacious. The water faucet has a light every time you turn on, which is quite unique. With delicious poke bowls, clean surroundings, and perfect location, my Poketastic experience is very enjoyable. Poketastic is now on my top 1 favorite poke restaurant in Hampton Road. Even though they just opened last month, they pretty much set the bar high for new and the established poke restaurants in the area.

Heard great things about this place and finally remembered to stop by while I was in the area. I arrived hungry around 8pm. I've now been to a few poke restaurants so I was already familiar with the process. Pick your protein, base and toppings. I went with my usual 2 proteins: salmon and tuna. I noticed the tuna was running low as the employee was pretty much scraping the bin. I asked her if that was all the tuna left to which she replied yes. I felt a little shorted being that I didn't get compensated for not getting my full scoop, the salmon was looking pretty low too. They have a broad selection of toppings which I took advantage of as well as Hawaiian Sun drinks, that was perfect to wash it all down with. Other than the empty tuna, I would come back again and give them another try because I was pleased with the taste.

I've been here many times and I can't believe I haven't checked in or wrote a review here but this place definitely needs to be acknowledged. I found out about this place through my nephew and his fiancé, they apparently know the owner & with it being so close to my job, i was like - why not? Poketastic keeps it plain and simple - choose you size and have it your way. They are very gracious with the amount they give you and everything always tastes amazing. Unlike other places in the area, Poketatsic gives you your money's worth. If its your first time, the staff will definitely take good care of you; any questions you have they got you. And speaking of staff, customer service is on point here. They're always so upbeat and friendly. Thanks Poketastic!

This place is delicious! I havent had seafood in a while and came here. Definitely not disappointed. I got the 4 protein bowl with all the helpings. Make sure you get some sesame oil and poketastic sauce, they add it to the protein AND to the top of the bowl once youre done pickin the toppings to add more flavor. If i lived nearby, id be a regular for sure

2 Proteins Seaweed Salad Mango Tuna Poke(raw) Cilantro Fried Onions

Great medium cost poke bar. They have convenient online ordering for pick up and delivery through app services. The tuna is always fresh and I've never had an issue with a bowl.

Incorrect store hours

Store hours online and on door are incorrect. I showed up at 8:09pm, just in time to see the employee cut the lights off.

Top view. Secure packaging. Small bowl is the same size as some Poke places Medium bowls.

I've been trying some poke spots in the area and this is probably the best that I have so far. First thing I noticed was that their small bowl Is the same size S some other Poke restaurant's small sized bowl. So, already.... value is way better. The ratios of proteins to added ingredients was great. They didn't skimp on the proteins or any of the side items. Everything tasted fresh, didn't see any wilting, mold or anything that might throw up any red flags. I definitely recommend this place to anyone else looking to eat at a Poke spot. Love the food, quality and portions! We ordered take out, of course, and I didn't go in.. so I can't say much for the exterior or ambiance of the place. Definitely 2 thumbs up. Go get some!

It had been quite a while since my last visit to Sakura Sushi, and I'm pleased to say that things…read morehave improved dramatically since then. Yes, the prices have gone up -- but honestly, what hasn't these days? More importantly, the quality of the food and the overall presentation have risen right along with them. Generally speaking, I'm not a huge fan of All You Can Eat sushi restaurants. I tend to subscribe to the old adage: "You get what you pay for." Too often, AYCE sushi focuses on quantity at the expense of freshness and execution. Fortunately, Sakura seems to have moved well beyond that stereotype. I started the meal with Miso Soup and Seaweed Salad. Both were fresh and flavorful. The miso soup was particularly enjoyable, with a generous amount of tofu, but not so much that it overwhelmed the broth. Everything felt balanced and thoughtfully prepared. The seaweed salad was good as well, refreshing and lightly dressed without being overly sweet. Next came an order of Beef Short Rib. The meat arrived piping hot, thinly sliced with the bone attached, alongside a simple dipping sauce that complemented the beef rather than masking it. After letting it cool slightly, I found it tender, savory, and very satisfying. Trying to eat at least pseudo healthy, I opted for sashimi instead of traditional sushi rolls and ordered Tuna, Salmon, Snapper, and Yellowtail. Everything tasted fresh and clean, exactly what you hope for when ordering raw fish. I also ordered the Tuna Tataki, which was nicely prepared and packed with flavor. One of the highlights of the evening was the Greenbrier Roll, made with spicy snapper and topped with spicy crab and avocado. The presentation was beautiful, and the combination of flavors and textures worked exceptionally well together. And finally, I finished the evening with an order of Fried Ice Cream... partly because it sounded good, and partly so I could brag to my granddaughter about it later. Overall, I had a genuinely enjoyable experience at Sakura Sushi. It's refreshing to see a restaurant improve in both quality and consistency, and based on this visit, I'm already looking forward to returning again.

We always get the same items... whether dining in or picking up. Dining in you get a better portion size. Not often is the order messed up. However... the last time we picked up food I was extremely disappointed. We tend to get a side of steak with our steak hibachi order as both our kids love the steak but not much else that comes with it. The $8-9 extra has always been worth it. This last time we ordered 2 sides of steak. This is what we received for $18. I called and spoke to either the manager or owner and she said bring it back for a refund. Why would I bring back my kids food? They were hungry. So I was supposed to bring it back for a refund then order food from them elsewhere? I was not looking for a refund... I wanted more meat... we had never have been gypped before. Not in the past 8 years eating here. We won't order that again and probably won't go back as that's the only dish my children will eat.

So I recently went to Daikichi Sushi. I hadn't been there since a few years ago and honestly back…read morethen, went there looking for great ramen. I wasn't impressed and didn't return. So I went back for their sushi as it felt unfair to rate them on ramen when their specialty was sushi. There are very few sushi places actually owned and run by Japanese outside of big cities, people rave about this place, and I'm all for supporting them. I did order the ramen again hoping it changed. It was ok, but I resigned it is not the place for ramen. However, I will say their sushi and other appetizers are great, no lie. But my recent visit left a bad taste despite their great food. When we arrived, about 6pm, the waitress told me and my teenage daughter, "only the bar was available". There were 2 4-person tables that could be separated for a table for 2. And I noticed 2 couples already there sitting at 4 person tables. So I asked the waitress why are they seated at the tables? She said they arrived earlier and now they need to keep the tables open Ok, I get that, even though they only opened an hour ago. It's Saturday night, so I'll go with that. Well, shortly after putting in our order at the bar, I see them seat 2 people at one of the 4-person tables. And then shortly after that, they separated the other 4 seater into 2 tables and sat 2 more couples that arrived at each table. Now, I'm raising an eyebrow. I didn't say anything but before I left, I said to the waitress, I couldn't help but notice there were several couples seated at tables after us. She said oh, that couple knows the owner, referring to the first couple seated at a 4 person table (they didn't even separate the table). Ok I figured that when the owner gave a loud and enthusiastic good bye to them and the diner looked Japanese. I replied to the waitress, but then you all seated 2 more couples and pulled the table apart to accommodate them. She replied that the boss ordered them to separate the tables but he rarely does. I replied that we had arrived well before any of those 3 couples and were told we couldn't sit at the table. She just shrugged as if to say she was just following the boss' order. I left the usual 20% tip because I know the waitress didn't make the decision and she gave great service and the sushi was great. However, that said, the blatant preference of other customers felt insulting and left a super disappointing taste in my mouth. And no, they were not all Japanese. Just that one diner. The owner clearly picked and chose to not give us a table, for whatever biased reason. I could understand if I were alone or my daughter was 8, but she looks clearly like an adult. It just really sat wrong with me and left me upset enough that I question returning. It's very unfortunate that an otherwise great experience was marred by this blatant refusal to seat my daughter and I at a table, only to have salt rubbed into the wound by seating numerous couples that followed at a table, by separating the tables. They didn't even offer to seat us at the traditional tables, all of which were empty at the time we arrived. To me, the authentic Japanese sushi was not worth the insulting unexplained preference to seat other customers after us at a table. PS: the only sushi roll I didn't like was the real crab California roll. The real crab was grey and cold and tasted so fishy, I asked to make sure it was cooked real crab and not raw. (They said it was cooked). I guess I was expecting real Alaska crab white crab and it was not this at all.

I wish it had more crunch to it than just the kimchi. Also the pork was slightly cold, they didn't warm up to temp with the broth.
