So personally I'm not a Poke fan. Weird because I love sushi. I know, almost the same thing. Moving on. I'm actually writing this review on behalf of my wife who seems to be allergic to writing reviews unless she's extremely angry, but her reaction whenever Poketastic comes up is priceless so I couldn't resist speaking on her behalf. Speaking might not be the best word since it's really me just translating feral sounds while she's shoveling forks full into her mouth until nothing is left but a grain or two of rice and few drops of sauce at the bottom of her bowl. Every day around 11 AM she asks what we're doing for lunch and if I don't have anything planned I get the puppy dog Poke eyes from her. It's the equivalent of the Bat Signal. I just look and her and say "go ahead" and almost before I finish my lengthy 2 word response she's grabbing her keys and out the door. My wife is picky to say the least so I'll finish by saying Poketastic is well worth the trip to the Norfolk Premium Outlets or the tip to the Door Dash driver if you're feeling lazy. Thank you Poketastic for always putting a smile on the face of my wonderful bride for life and Mom to our 2 kids and occasionally saving me some time in the kitchen! read more

Had to try this location! Nice clean modern decore. Plenty of seats for everyone. Plus service was on top. If you want a healthy alternative I always feel better having a Poke Bowl. The staff was very friendly and willing to offer me menu options based on what I wanted and didn't like. You can order with the staff or on the computer. The juice was freshly squeezed!! The place was clean, there are about 20 seats available so maybe not suitable for big crowds. The food was great and will definitely have to come back and try the other combos! I'm not sure why I haven't written a review for Poketastic. They've been my go-to spot for poke since 757 Poke is no longer at Pembroke Mall (well, I don't work near Pembroke anymore - that's the real issue, besides the fact that Pembroke Mall kicked everyone out). I can rely on them because they're consistent with fresh and tasty ingredients, and their customer service is excellent. I originally noticed those qualities when I tried out their Battlefield Blvd location back in early 2019 (I probably should review that one, too), so I'm glad those qualities migrated to the Norfolk location. Anyways, the Poketastic at the Outlets is convenient for me - I can get a tasty bowl with anything I want, and I can pick it up otw to or from work. When COVID shut everyone down, I was able to rely on Poketastic for curbside service, which came in handy then and is an excellent option now since I've been working from home for the last 2 years. With their app, it's even easier for me to place my order and it's always ready for me when I stop in for pickup. I really would love to try out some other poke spots, because I love variety, but Poketastic has done so well for me. We typically go to the Poketastic in Chesapeake, which is a family favorite. The service is outstanding and they make the bowls just the way you like them. We were over here tonight and thought we'd have a similar experience, but I'm sadly disappointed in the overall experience. Upon entering the building, it was fishy smelling, which anyone who eats raw fish knows, isn't the norm. I was greeted by a girl with a very lackluster demeanor. I couldn't hear her speaking at all, she refused even a hint of a smile and didn't even respond when I asked her how she was. While my bowl was okay, she messed up the sauces and didn't mix my fish choices the same way as the other location. I was honestly a bit confused with the menu at first but the staff were super friendly to make it all happen. Portions are filling and fresh. Sign up for their emails and get codes for discounts on your order. Orders can be phoned in or using the Chow Now feature to place your order. It's almost a sure fire way to ensure they hear you and give you what you want. Parking is generous and shared with some neighboring businesses but isn't a hassle at all. A clean and orderly interior with pleasant decor. Military discounts are available when ordering in person but not via the app. Remember to tip for great service! Very impressed by this fast-food version of Poke bowls. My friend and I were shopping nearby at IKEA and eyed this as our dinner spot. We arrived about 45 minutes before close and asked a ton of questions but I was impressed with their pre-set bowl menu of about 6 bowls - I think most were raw but they had two that were cooked. I chose to go with a grilled salmon one with crab salad, mangos and ponzu sauce with edamame and rice. My friend built her own where you choose one, two, or three proteins and then add the toppings after choosing white or brown rice. They have tons of fresh topping like cucumber, carrots, crab salad, seaweed salad, peppers, tomato, etc. And like a dozen different sauces to choose from as well as some crunchy toppers. My bowl took about 15 minutes because they grilled/toasted the salmon when I ordered it - it was very good. I asked for a few extra fresh toppings and a side of sauce and they didn't charge me extra for all of that. The flavor was great and everything was fresh and delicious. The employees inside were super friendly to us and patient with all the questions - also bc my friend has a soy allergy so she asked a lot of questions about the mix-ins and toppings. First visit was amazing!!!! So excited to have a good poke place in the Norfolk area. Because the reviews for the Chesapeake location were so good, I couldn't wait to try this new location. There are a lot of options! On top of the various proteins offered, one can have any of the protein toasted. It does take an additional 7 minutes. I love that tamago aka Japanese egg is an option. Since quarantine, we have ordered online curbside twice from this location. I love online ordering. It allows me to take my time, analyze & pick from the extensive menu offerings. The flavors and quality of all the bowls have been consistently delicious! Customer service and accuracy of our orders outstanding. Keep it up Poketastic. Can't wait to dine-in again! Poketastic is definitely my favorite place in Hampton Roads. I've been to their Chesapeake location numerous times and I was very thrilled to find out that they opened this location near the outlets. Although their Chesapeake location is closer to my house, this location is about 10 minutes away from work so it's perfect when I crave for poke during lunch times. Their Norfolk location is similar to their Chesapeake location. You can some familiar faces from Chesapeake. With that in mind, you already know that you will get good customer services. The staffs are very friendly and will go above and beyond with their customer services. The restaurant is clean. Compared to their other location, this location is more spacious, which means there's more seats if you prefer to dine in (preferably after this pandemic). I was also glad to find that they have a soda machine inside the restaurant. As for the food, you can find the same quality of poke. The protein and toppings are exactly the same as the one in Chesapeake. Some of the choices for protein are salmon, tuna, shrimp, spicy salmon/tuna, yellow tail, and tofu. Compared to other poke places in town, they offer a lot of toppings. My favorite are the crab salad, seaweed salad and the carrots. I am glad that they offer carrots because most of the poke places in town do not have that. Their servings are huge, but make sure to mention if you want less or a lot of base. They also have a lot of selection for the sauces. My typical bowl consists of white rice as my base, shrimp (double or triple depending if I am getting small or medium) as my protein, and for the toppings, I usually get carrots, seaweed salad, onions, fried onions, garlic, sesame seeds, and furikake. For the sauces, I get ponzu, sesame oil, and siracha on the protein and spicy mayo, eel sauce, and sesame oil on the top. My SO gets almost the same thing except he gets tuna and salmon for protein. What up world!? Alright so I honestly like the flavor. Just a couple growing pains and recommendations. This would be a solid 4 maybe 4.5 food star if it wasn't for these. 1. Go back to the actual bowl containers, half of the experience is presentation and with the black containers having no depth it'll literally just look like someone took shit in the pan. This also makes it impossible to mix so wtf. 2. Don't pre cut/mash the avocados. Like previous comments they turn brown and believe it or not regardless if it tastes the same, the way the food looks will easily deter customers from spending the extra $$ for that avocado. Keep them intact till someone orders them then slice that bish open. 3. Maybe ask how much sauce topper we want before your workers decide to drench my shit in Mayo. - no offense to the person who did this to mine, they just doing what they told. 4.Portioning, what may be helpful rather then doing the scoop method is too weigh it out. It's fast believe me. This would also ease the customer when you're able to put a value on it. This way we're not bitching about how it looks small and its consistent. read more

First time going and was very disappointed. Entered and place was empty, staff was not at the front. I ordered using the tablet they have which isn't a big deal. The food was mediocre at best. I ordered a 2 protein bowl, which barely had any protein(fish) in it. The portion was very underwhelming for the price paid. The amount of seaweed salad that was on the bowl was overwhelming disproportional, it was almost 80% seaweed. I paid the extra 1.50$ or so for avocado and it was not ripe so it was hard as a rock and not easy to eat with chopsticks, and I ended up having to cut it with a knife into cubes in order to eat it. Then while I was being given wasabi the employees ungloved hand go into the wasabi and some dropped back into the bucket where they scoop it from, which seems completely unsanitary. All of the ingredients looked fresh and the prep area was clean and organized. The bowl itself was just okay. The poketastic sauce and spicy mayo were the saving graces of the bowl. The rice seemed dried out as if it had been in the rice cooker way too long. The tofu was waterlogged and had no flavor (I regularly eat tofu so I know getting a specific flavor can be tough) but I had expected it to at least not water down the sauces in the bowl. However, Poketastic has a smooth app you can order ahead with and they'll bring it out to your car for you. My review of 5 stars is based on ease of ordering, the time it took, and food. I like the app, it's easy, and the first thing you do is put in what kind of car is picking up the food. The app is powered by chownow. It's good to see fresh 3rd party software and not the Grubhubs and Postmates gouging restaurants 20-30%. It took me about 12 minutes to get to the restaurant and my food was brought out pretty much as soon as staff noticed a car out front and checked orders. My food was fantastic, serving size, quantity, presentation, and taste. The app let's you pick all the same things as you normally would look at. You can still pick 2 sauces to mix in or add on avocado etc. I will use this method again because it's easier for me to check the boxes than be inside and my eyes happen to glaze over pineapple or something. Between the two visits, I created my own small bowls and loved both: 1) white rice base, ahi tuna and tofu proteins, then 2) salad base, toasted salmon and tofu proteins. My husband tried the spicy salmon, spicy tuna, scallops, and toasted salmon over the course of his orders and inhaled them. There has also been times where it was not communicated to me when picking up my order that some toppings I selected would not be available upon pick up, instead with just a note on the receipt saying it couldn't be accommodated for. Upon my visit this week I had noticed that their in store menu and prices are not updated. It listed a small for 10.50, medium for 12.50 and large 14.50. But when I was rung up for a medium I was charged over $16. Their bowls over time have increasingly shrunk and I would rather drive further to downtown to get my money's worth. They are no longer serving in the clear containers but a flat 1 inch black to-go bowl that can barely close with any toppings.
