They continue to give me my 8 bite special ; Salmon and yellow tail sushi, tamari (non flour soy sauce,), wooden chop sticks, paper napkins, Shapiro beer with lots of lemon slices. They know what I can eat and make sure that I don't get anything that would make me eat something I am allergic to. Very nice people, good service. Lovely décor. I usually eat there once a week. read more

Super friendly server! She was also very knowledgeable and patient as we asked a lot of questions because some of the rolls just had pictures and no description. All rolls were solid and good portions. Plenty of seating even though fairly small. They had fatty tuna belly eBay was outstanding! read more

Tokyo Bistro - 911 Nine One One Roll Homemade Ramen - Japanese Near Me - Coos Bay, Oregon

This was a great recommendation from our local realtor. Friendly service. Clean atmosphere. Nice decorations. The ramen has homemade noodles and a flavorful beef broth with thin sliced beef, half of a very fresh soft boiled egg zucchini, and veggies. Short ribs were so tender and the sauce was delightful. Golden California rolls were beautiful (avocado was a little past prime but still good). Would pay extra for real crab If available. Miso soup was warm and umami flavor delightful. Warm saki was sweet and fruity. Overall an A experience! Will definitely be back read more

Wow what a gem of a place!! We went with our four year old and right off the bat it felt welcoming and extremely laid back. Our server was amazing and friendly but the sushi is what gives it the 5 stars! Fresh tasting, nicely rolled, and great flavor! Four year old got the teriyaki chicken and ate almost all of it, so that's a win too! read more

We drove from Gold Beach to Coos Bay specifically for sushi and I'm so happy we chose this place because the restaurant itself was low light, casual and chill vibes but most importantly the sushi was really delicious and the service was fast and our server was really sweet. We sat at the bar and watched the sushi masters at work. We loved it so much we plan to visit again! read more

Never disappoints! Grilled butterfish unlike any others! Sushi creative and excellent. Miso soup so comforting. We go every time we are in town read more

One of the better sushi spots in the area, though it's definitely on the pricier side. I recommend the Takoyaki, the Highway 38 roll (salmon and eel), and the Hot Lady roll (deep-fried). However, the sea urchin was not fresh--wouldn't recommend it. Service was good. read more

Both my husband and I had their Bento box lunches. You have a choice of different items, along with miso soup, pickled cumbersome, a yummy green salad, rice etc. it was delicious. We were there for the lunch rush so the male server seemed very stressed and not friendly at first. However when the rush slowed down he was able to be more attentive. When you arrive the cooking staff gave us a friendly welcome. It was a clean restaurant and the decor was nice. We would definitely go again when we are in town! read more

Tokyo Bistro - Tempura shrimp and salmon in a Bento box - Japanese Near Me - Coos Bay, Oregon

False advertisement the photos on their website are not what you get they tell you nothing on the website of what even comes on in or on the dish and give you half a kids cup of miso. The food is good but god damn it's not what we thought we were getting for $70 read more

We were greeted upon entering and were able to be seated immediately, we did have a reservation. Wait staff were friendly and attentive. They were busy, we were there on a Tuesday evening and they are closed on Monday. Be sure to review the specials board when you come in, lots of info there. They have many choices other than sushi that are delicious as well. I have been here several times and the service and food are always top quality. They have a sushi bar and table seating. It can be a bit noisy when they are full, not obnoxiously so however. read more

Tokyo Bistro - Chefs Choice platter. - Japanese Near Me - Coos Bay, Oregon

The sushi is fairly good. I had the teriyaki beef and it was horrible. It tasted nothing like teriyaki, maybe burned. My wife had the teriyaki chicken and it tasted more like teriyaki. I asked the waiter about it and he went to the kitchen. The chef came out and told me they have to cook the beef in the teriyaki and the chicken they cook alone and then add the teriyaki, that's why I thought maybe it was burned. I poured the sauce out of the dish and asked for teriyaki sauce and it was palatable. However, in my complaint they didn't offer anything, a replacement would've been good but all I got was the information on how they cook it and then the chef said thanks and walked away abruptly. I won't go back. read more

Wonderful all around! What a great intimate space with an unexpected cool vibe. Our waitress was very friendly and made good menu recommendations for our party of three! The beer was nicely chilled. The tempera was outstanding. The Tiger roll and Chasing Dragon roll were amazing. We always assess sushi quality with an order of hamachi nigiri, and it was very good. Loved the mochi for dessert, although green tea mochi wrapper wasn't quite the right texture...stick to strawberry or mango! Saved in Yelp so we'll be sure to come back next time we visit Coos Bay! read more

At first they were friendly, but then I was neglected. The Sushi was pretty much tasteless.z the waitress was extremely inattentive. I asked for mochi I waited 10 to 15 minutes and finally got up and said I had to leave and of course now she magically has the emoji and seemed upset that I didn't want to take it to go first and last time. read more

Came here for lunch on a Saturday and it wasn't busy. Got the bento and overall it was pretty good. I really liked the tempura and the chicken. The chicken was really juicy and the sauce wasn't overly strong even though it covered everything. Rice was normal but the salad had way too much dressing on it. So that was the only negative. read more

Experience sucked, literally. Everything was ok until the waitress started vacuuming the dining room including right up to our table, while we were still eating. The dust from the vacuum, not to mention the noise ruined our experience and desire to ever go back. I addressed it with the manager and the waitress and she said, "I thought you were done eating!", which if she were attentive to her diners she would know that we were not. And who wants to create a housecleaning atmosphere for their diners, whether they're eating or not? read more

Awesome Sushi!! We are so happy to have a Sushi restaurant near by. Our favorite restaurant in Coos Bay!!

Good price for the amount of food you get. The sushi is good, and the rice was very well-prepared. The bento box was nice, with well-seasoned and cooked chicken. I just wish there was more shrimp tempura--there was only one shrimp. read more

My family was traveling for Christmas and found Tokyo Bistro was the only restaurant open for Christmas in all of coos bay. We were a bit reluctant after reading some of the reviews and the fact it was our only open but we loved our experience here. We got edamame which was very large and well seasoned, a dancing queen roll - soo good!, a few different bowls of ramen - also delicious, and teriyaki chicken. Our server was very nice, helpful, and fun. Overall we loved the food and the service and would definitely recommend stopping in if in the area. read more

Wow. Who knew i would find a solid spot for sushi here. I was impressed with both the service and quality of food. I will be back!

Most times it's been very tasty. My favorite is the lemon drop sushi. The service most of the time is good.

My family and I had spent the morning exploring Shore Acres State Park so we were pretty hungry and stopped at the first place I could find on my GPS since I didn't have phone reception at the coast. Tokyo Bistro turned out to be a great choice. The waitress was very friendly and accommodating to our kids. The sushi was great here. One of the better chirashi bowls I've had, with top quality fish, good variety and the price is reasonable at least compared to where I live (San Francisco Bay Area). read more

The food choice was diverse, our server was vey friendly and our food came out very quickly. It was pretty busy but the din was not overwhelming. My wife, daughter, youngest son and I ate dinner here on Friday, August 1. The ambiance was very pleasing. All the food we ordered was so delicious. The order consisted of fried calamari for our appetizer, Maui bento box for me, my daughter ordered teriyaki chicken, katsu chicken for my son, and wife had tempura fish and vegetables. My son is still raving about the katsu chicken and my daughter, wife, and I cannot believe how good the vegetable tempura was that came with both our orders. The calamari was very tasty and very filling since they were huge cuts. Our server was very attentive to our needs. We will definitely come here again every year while we are visiting Coos Bay. read more

Being in Coos Bay Oregon who really thinks of Sushi, well we did. Pretty good YELP reviews so we gave it shot in the high times of COVID, face masks, and anti-social distancing. They did a great job of enforcing restrictions. Nice enough place, not fancy but clean and efficient getting people in and out. Location: very easy to access location, not RV friendly but if you're visiting in off peak season street parking won't be a problem. Be aware of Coasties, lock up your stuff. Facility: pretty nice inside, again not fancy. Menu: Great options and easy to read and order. Staff: super quick and nice... Service: it was like we ordered and then it appeared... very fast lunch service. Food: it was okay but did not seem like top quality ingredients or plating. I had a Raman dish which was HUGE. Cost: very fair Value: overall a good value... again not fancy so dress down and just enjoy it. We will return if we find ourselves in Coos Bay again... read more
