Enjoyed Tide to Table's delicious clam chowder at the Rogue Climate event at the Coos Bay Library.

We were seated right away and our waitress gave us window seating so we could have a river view. I told the waitress it was my daughters birthday, hoping they would do something special for her later. We ordered a few drinks and made our food order. It took about 20 minutes before we were served. I ordered the burger and fries. My hubby ordered the fish and chips and my daughter ordered the mac N cheese. Everything looked good, however, my fries were lacking warmth and my burger bun was stale. It was not soft and fresh. I ended up not eating the bun, but just the burger itself. My daughters mac N cheese wasn't as great as she expected either. It was bland and dry. Yes, it had cheese, but it was stringy and not creamy. My husband loved his fish and chips. Hot and fresh and looked amazing. I did have a bite and it did taste really good. Note taken: Do NOT order anything but the fish and chips. When we were finished a new waitress gave us our receipt and asked if we needed anything else. I wanted to tell her we needed more water, but we were ready to go. I wish they would have filled up the carafe of water "before" I was about to leave. And..on top of that...no birthday surprise for my daughter. Some places sing a song or give a small dessert. But nope...not here. Oh well...I think I'll skip this place for any kind birthday celebrations.

The people working here are always super nice. The food arrived quick, was hot and cooked perfect. We sat outside in the covered area, nice night, lights came on as it started getting dark. We will be back!

They were pretty busy but they have lots of seating options and we were able to find a spot right away. As we came in one of the two waitresses said hello, told us to sit wherever and let us know the new menus were at the table under the glass. The menu was clear, straightforward and had options for half orders which I super appreciate! We both got ice teas, my dad ordered the fish and chips (cod) and I did the scallops. I forgot to take photos of the main dishes, we dug right in and then it wasn't pretty when remembered. The only down side to my dish was it was popcorn scallops, small and rubbery, but very common with those when they're deep fried. It all tasted amazing though! Fish and chips was insanely good. I hate tartar sauce I mixed theirs 50/50 with the cocktail sauce and it was so good! The place was clean, decorated on theme, lots of areas to sit, dog friendly out on the patio too! Only downside was trying to get the bill. Service up to that point was fantastic. Just took a bit longer to leave than we wanted but overall no complaints!

This place has clearly seen better days. It wasn't dirty or unsanitary, but the decor was very…read moredated and the furniture felt worn out. We were seated quickly and handed menus, but that's where things started to go sideways. We waited quite a while before a waitress stopped by--mentioning she was taking over our table from another server. Drinks were ordered. Then more waiting. Being on the Oregon coast, visiting from the Gulf Coast of Texas, we were hoping for the elevated seafood experience the Pacific is known for. Unfortunately, that never arrived. The fish tasted like it had been frozen for some time--slimy, not fresh. The batter and seasoning were plain, offering nothing memorable. Just basic battered and fried fish. Service didn't improve as the meal went on. Drink refills were difficult to get, condiment requests went unanswered, and part of one order was forgotten entirely. To her credit, the waitress did apologize and comp the missing item, but the experience as a whole was disappointing. Final Thoughts If you're searching for fresh, well-prepared seafood on the Oregon coast, this isn't the place. Captain's Choice didn't live up to its name, and I can't recommend it. Our search for quality Pacific seafood continued elsewhere.
