Decent chashu pork belly; tasty but not the most succulent. Well-seasoned tan-tan minced pork but on the dry side. I requested kata (firm) noodles but the noodles were pretty soft.....still enjoyable to eat though. As for my drink I had the homemade jasmine tea lemonade. Kinda over-brewed-bitter lol. Very polite and attentive service (pretty much boosted my rating)! Overall I'd say this spot is a recommend from me if you already happen to be in the area.

It was not worth it. The slices of meat were too thin. The regular tonkotsu x would have been good enough. The hanjuku egg was not worth the extra as well. Instead of paying extra for the meat and egg, order a bowl of rice. There is plenty of small chunks of chashu and would go well to eat together after the noodles are gone.

We enjoyed two bowls of ramen - tonkatsu miso and tonkatsu with kimchi. Both were loaded with toppings, big slices of pork, seaweed, fried onions and mushrooms with a half egg. Very generous for the small bowl serving size. The broth and noodles were less than extraordinary. Broth tasted like it was made the same day. Creamy but lacking flavour. Noodles were also store bought, generic. The fried chicken was delicious. Served with teriyaki sauce and a side of special mayo. It was a nice addition to an otherwise bland ramen. The kimchi did add heat but still could not mask the missing pork flavour. This place was fine in a pinch but not somewhere I would make an effort to go to regularly.

The chef understands fish and how to handle rice. He is Filipino but was apprenticed to a Japanese sushi chef for years and gets it. The fish selection is limited but well chosen. They even had deep fried lotus root chips, one of my favourite snacks (ask for them with salt). The service was warm, engaged and personal. I look forward to going back.
