Excellent new Japanese place near St. James Park. My wife, who is Japanese and knows her food, found this place and brought us there the following evening. The chef understands fish and how to handle rice. He is Filipino but was apprenticed to a Japanese sushi chef for years and gets it. The fish selection is limited but well chosen. The presentation was clean and was not trying to be cool or flash. The miso soup, a good test of a Japanese restaurant, was well done. They even had deep fried lotus root chips, one of my favourite snacks (ask for them with salt). The service was warm, engaged and personal. I look forward to going back. read more
