Came by here for a quick lunch as we were on a Tour of Windsor and we were seated immediately and I must say the staff was very friendly and accommodating. This place was recommended to me by my uber driver of the day. He said, he really enjoys spicy Asian noodles. After my trip to the Windsor Castle, It took just about 5 minutes to walk to this location. There was no wait and the place was 50% occupied. I ordered the Chicken and Prawn Pad Thai, Duck Gyoza with Hoisin and a tall Asahi beer. I was warned that the Pad Thai might be spicy due to the peppers and I appreciated that. I like it Thai spicy normally. Everything was perfect. I also like that they used Cilantro in the Pad Thai. Highly recommended. My first time here. We tried just about all the appetizers on the menu and ate them all because we were so hungry and they were good. I ordered the pad Thai with tofu. It was ok. I was with four other people and they all finished their food so obviously it must have been good. They're meat eaters so I didn't pay attention to what they ordered. Flaky and crispy on the outside, fabulous duck on the inside. Great dipping sauce too. The brisket ramen was legit. I got the spicy and it is a medium high spice. In the quest for good food in the UK (which can sometimes feel like an odyssey), I stumbled across this little gem. Channeling the traditions of Japanese style ramen houses this chain offers great eats and an interesting atmosphere. The seating is all together with tables arranged in long rows. You'll find yourself sandwiched between other patrons, rubbing elbows with fellow ramen lovers. You also need to be aware that the food arrives in no particular order. Whatever they cook first is sent out without concept of entrees or starters. They have a lot of options on the menu, so even large groups will find something they like and if there is truly a picky eater in your crew, that's nothing a bottle of hot sake won't cure (or three). I wish they had this establishment stateside because I have a lot of fond memories of the place. Wagamama was a little hard to find at first. The entrance is a step down and from an alleyway. Several co workers had come here because it's pretty much the only real restaurant that is open late. Plenty of pubs are open late but forget about restaurants. The food here was pretty decent but very overpowering with spices. It was really only acceptable because it was open late and my crew of about a dozen people were practically starved and not in the mood for pub food. All of our food came out at different times and our appetizers came after the main meal. I was kind of trapped in the area due to my work schedule and proximity of any other decent food establishments. Bottom line: It's OK food. But if you can eat before shops close down at 7pm and don't want pub food in the area, you'll be very limited. Wagamama isn't horrible but it's nothing to rave about. read more

I was so excited when I saw a Wagamama at the Windsor train station. I had heard so much about this place and couldn't wait to finally try it. I'm not sure if I ordered the wrong dish or if they had a bad night, but the food was awful! I ordered the duck dumplings and curry noodle soup. The duck dumpling had plum or hoisin sauce mixed in the meat as well as dolloped outside for dipping. GROSS! so overpowering. The curry soup had no flavor and the chicken was over cooked and bland. The couple sitting next to me and I were fighting for the spices cause none of our food had any flavor. I was actually sad for the animals that died for my meal because it was so inedible. Visited yesterday and was disappointed to find that the Saien Soba has been removed from the "new" menu. We both had Yasai Itame which I rather liked. Options are limited in Windsor on a Sunday night and Wagamama was an acceptable choice. The ramen broth was neither rich nor flavorful, but I opted for the spicy chili ramen, which compensated for the otherwise mediocre taste. The chicken kara age was crispy and was improved with a squeeze of lime and a sprinkle of chili pepper. I washed everything down with a Kirin Ichiban and left satisfied...and a little ashamed. This Wagamama restaurant has a nice layout to it, and is different to others that I have been to, as it has a larger number of smaller tables, to seat around 6 people, as opposed to large, across the room size benches to seat around 24.
