I haven't had the chance to go to this location but have I visited them at farmers markets. They're very sweet, as well as the owner! The Ube and Black sesame marshmallow crossiant was super tasty, I love that it's Asian woman owned and the quality of the products. It was $10 the Ube and $6.50 for the sesame crossiant. Definitely recommend visiting their bakery or popups! read more

Placed an order in early to pick up. Super friendly staff and cute commercial kitchen where they had the goodies. They prep a lot for the various farmers markets. Wanted to REALLY love the croissants and other goodies, but some of them fell short of our expectations. The Ube cream was a lot lighter and airy than I would have thought would be good for a croissant cube. The Ube flavor was lighter and barely noticeable. Maybe if they mixed in some mashed up Ube or did a Ube cheesecake it would help. Also the cube was very thick, dense, and dry. Perhaps if they cut the lamented croissants straight down into squares then let it proof and bake in the square mold, it could help with getting the more distinct croissant layers and give it the airy light croissant touch. It seems that they squished the croissants into the mold and not giving it space to proof correctly causing it to be more dense. Sort of the same thing with the matcha strawberry croissant wheels. Since it was so dense, we couldn't really get the matcha strawberry combo. We also tried the blueberry cheesecake filling and that was delicious. Black sesame marshmallow was not bad, could use more filling. They had a new flavor combo of pistachio and cherries that was a definite WINNER! Over all the regular croissants weren't bad, most fillings had a great flavor and balance, but the special croissant wheels and cubes fell WAY short. Very fixable issues though, so hopefully the next time we try it will be a better balance. read more

I'm so happy that after stopping to check out River Sea Chocolate I followed the signs down the hall to this gem. Fabulous croissants with unique fillings. We tried two cream filled, one with ubi and the other was mango passion fruit. They were the most utterly delicious croissants I've ever had! So sad we live in another state because this would be a frequent stop. read more

My friend and I exchanged a box of goodies. I got her a box of donuts from Rose Ave Bakery and she gave me a box of Croissants from Toimoi. I have not seen her for a couple of years (because pandemic), but we've been doing a lot of sharing of baking tips and recipes on Instagram. It was so great to see her in person! She knows the flavors I like and they were all in my box of croissants! Ube, Black Sesame and Matcha. The Black Sesame and Marshmallow Cream topped and filled croissant was fantastic. I did not share that with my sisters and in-laws. Lol It was simply too good!!! The Almond Matcha was good too. The Ube Croissant was my least favorite. The Ube Butter needed more Ube flavor. The croissants are not as flaky as Arsicault Bakery's (San Francisco) croissants but they do have that honeycomb structure inside and they are good. I would totally love to get the Black Sesame Croissant again and again as it's so unique and delicious. I hope by the time I return to DC, they will have a storefront. My friend got them from their pick up location at the Farmers Market in Fairfax. I placed an order for 2 Black Sesame Croissants and Taro Moon Cake this weekend at their pick up location at Valley Brook Tea on P St. I will be sharing the goodies with my sisters and in-laws this time! :) read more

TRY EVERYTHING TRUST ME!! If traveling to Paris isn't an option for now, have a taste of Annie's Asian-French pastry and it will take you to Rue Montorgueil. I had the Sausage croissant, Black Sesame Marshmellow, and Matcha Almond Croissant. Her croissants were all beautiful in the eyes, and the fillings taste amazing! So flaky and buttery. I would say that this might be the best croissant I've ever had. I mean.. she literally started her baking journey in Paris, so that explains Sweetheart & talented owner, unique flavors. Bomb! Randomly found this gem online and decided to check it out! Loved that there was a mix of Asian flavors influenced French pastries along with new types of traditional pastries like their novel take on moon cakes. Definitely order online to pick up at the Fairfax farmers market because they run out quick! +Guava cream cheese pastry: It doesn't seem like this item is always on the menu but I'm so glad we got to try this one! I love guava flavored products when done right and this was one of them. Plus the pastry was so flaky, this was a winner for me. +Ube croissant: A must try! A flaky croissant paired with soft velvety ube cream - do I need to say more? I think my stomach growled typing this description. +Gochujang scallion danish: Loved this take on taking an ingredient traditionally used in dishes and stews (gochujang is Korean red pepper paste) and instead incorporating it into a pastry. Definitely something you don't really see but loved that there was a savory option to choose from. It has a hint of spice from the gochujang but something for the savory lovers out there. +Black Sesame moon cake: This was so pretty I almost couldn't eat it. *Almost.* The outer layer was soft like a very soft mochi and the inside was oozing with black sesame filling. It can be quite a mouthful with pure black sesame filling but I can see this being enjoyed with some nice hot tea to help wash it down. +Melon bun: With all of the other baked goods being shining stars, this one was a bit anticlimactic for me. The filling to bread ratio was a bit off, the filling tasted like vanilla, and the top crust of the bread had more visual appeal than taste. It would have been fine if I were expecting bread with some cream inside but the description didn't match the product. With a few tweaks I think it could definitely have some potential. Loved what I tried and can't wait to come back for more! read more

Delicious pastries featuring delicious asian flavors. We got two flavored croissants and I was pleasantly surprised by how well executed they were. The croissants themselves were rich, flaky, and buttery and the fillings inside were bursting with flavor. The pandan coconut croissant was my favorite, such a delicious pandan flavor came through. I also enjoyed the fluffy, whipped Ube filling inside the other croissant. Each bite was memorable. The mosaic stand does get busy though in the morning so be prepared to wait in line for a bit! read more

We ordered and picked up at the Asian festival... I wanted to love our pastries but they were just ok to my family. I expect to be wowed when my 5 pastries cost $47 with the service fee and tip! I'm not sure if it was because they were outside at their booth? I will give them another try for sure but I was pretty disappointed unfortunately. read more

I've been buying croissants and pastries from Toimoi for a while and I'm super happy that they're now at mosaic's weekly farmers market so now I can get my pastry fix weekly! I love love love the combination of Asian flavors in the pastries and how it seems like there are new flavors each week. You can definitely tell that she folded in a lot of love into the dough :) Out of all the croissant flavors I've tried my absolute favorite is the mango passionfruit mochi croissant. Her sea salt oreo chiffon fake roll is the perfect balance of sweet and salty and I absolutely cannot get enough of her pineapple tarts and I wish I could eat a whole box of them I definitely recommend checking her out at mosaic! read more

Service was super nice and I loved the diverse array of pastries. I believe the price is worth for the high quality of pastries you receive.

I have been wanting to try many of the items available from Toimoi, but unfortunately, I don't like getting up early on the weekends, and I always seemed to miss out at the farmers market. I placed a pre-order this past weekend and ordered a variety of items. I am a huge fan of cardamom, but I found that the cardamom flavor was a bit lacking in the morning bun. Kind of the same with the triple chocolate croissant, I was expecting the chocolate to pack more of a punch, and it was actually a little dry. I really enjoyed the Ube cream and cookie croissant, the flavor was mild, but that was to be expected, it was delicious. The egg tarts are also really good, they are a small snack size with a nice custard in a flaky pie crust. The passion, fruit mango mochi croissant, I mean, come on, what's not to like on this one? The creamy filling has a fantastic flavor, the passion fruit and mango really come through, I wouldn't mind a little bit more filling though. For me, the star of the show was the Ube supreme croissant, the Ube filling is mild in flavor, but plentiful, and I really enjoyed that aspect of it. read more

I've been here two times. The first time, they ran out most of the bake goods, so they told me to pre-order. Good thing I did. I went the following Sunday to pick up my order, and guess what I found!! A line about 2 blocks long. I rolled up to the nice ladies and go. Do I need to get in line for my order?" They say no. I remember you from last weekend. We got your order here. I have to admit it was sweet not having to wait cause about 5 minutes later it started to rain. Haha read more

This place is becoming one of my favorite bakeries to visit on the weekends! The baked goods always taste fresh and are not overly sweet! I've had the croissants, the little mochi breads, and the egg tarts. The croissants are always a great compliment to my morning coffees. The baker is always friendly when I visit and explains the items on display. There's no where to sit inside, but my friends and I just pop the trunks of our SUVs and enjoy our pastries outside on sunny days. Perfect! I hope this place stays around for a LOOONG time! read more

Restocking my fridge for myself and my dogs every Sunday at Toimoi Bakery is absolutely the highlight of the weekend. Her pastries are on point and can still remain crunchy even for a few days in the fridge - she really put efforts on her products. My favorites are chocolate hazelnut, matcha almond, and so on! There are so many flavors to choose from. What's more - Now they even have dog treats! I was skeptical at first but my dogs LOVE everything I've bought so far! They bark at me every time I am near the treat bags and ask for more treats. The chicken and pork are in great value too. I found some single ingredient treats are priced way higher but with less amount. Highly recommend! read more

I am speechless. I think the croissants here are definitely the best in the DMV area, if not in the country. Coming from LA, I've had my fair share of Asian baked goods (and the famous Porto's Bakery). However, I can confidently say Toimoi reigns supreme. The most impressive part is how perfect their croissant foundation is. You can put flairs to your croissant all you want, but if the foundation is bad then there's no point. Toimoi's croissants are just perfection. They're so flaky, yet aren't greasy at all. The layering is so evenly done without any clumps. You can tell a lot of love has gone into making each and every one of their baked goods. Any sort of cream they use (whether it's in the croissant or their ube cheesecake) is so clean and light, you don't feel overwhelmed eating it. The balance of the flavors is so well done, especially with the Pistachio Rose Almond croissant; the rose flavor feels like shy flowers blooming in the spring, and the sweetness of the almonds is like the April showers. The pistachio's nuttiness provides a great balance to it. The experience of eating it feels like a harmonic symphony in your mouth. Also very surprisingly, the meringue on the ube croissant was the best I've every had. I don't like meringue to begin with because often they're hard all throughout and have the eggy gamey smell. Toimoi's meringues were beautiful perfections, being crisp on the outside with a slight chew on the inside, and with a very clean flavor. I'm gobbsmacked. I was so angry of how good it was while I ate their baked goods. Bravo!! read more

We began frequenting Toimoi Bakery at the Farmers Market after my daughter's ballet class and became quick fans. They enjoyed the custard buns, egg tarts and of course, the chocolate croissants! Toimoi found rapid success with the Supreme Croissant, making it harder to buy baked goods easily; fortunately, they've made adjustments since then and have grown into their success so that now we're able to enjoy their mini Supremes, meringues and anything ube to our hearts content. read more

I lived in LA for a long time and have had amazing croissants. Not being able to find descent croissants after moving to the Virginia has really been disappointing until I discovered Toimoi. I've been getting croissants from Annie since November 2021. Her pastries are delicious, everything is really fresh and nothing tastes artificial. Love the creative flavors, too. I love them so much that I even got a bunch for a work event, they were a huge hit as well! If you are looking for creative artisanal pastries, you must try Toimoi! read more

This is my to-do thing on Sunday, get stocked up on croissants. They make amazing quality croissants, flaky, crispy and buttery at the same time. What keep me coming back is the variety of flavors offered, French pastry with asian twist, i'm just tired of the OG plain, chocolate or almond croissants. Matcha almond and sesame from Toimoi is a must try!! The matcha flavor is not overwhelming the buttery flavor, the almond add a nice crunch. All of their pastries is not crazy sweet as well. They also offered many other pastry and testing out new ideas a lot, tuiles is my current favorite right now. Will def come back next week! Can't wait to see what they have in stock. read more

I'd like to think I've been following Toimoi since the beginning, and the innovative flavors and pastries keep me coming back! The croissants are light and fluffy and the fillings are generous. I first discovered the passionfruit mango mochi croissant, still my all time favorite, as part of a baker's box back in 2021. It's been fun experiencing their evolution over the years. Annie is innovative and there are always awesome new treats or shapes of croissants showing up month after month. I would say the prices are comparable for small batch craft pastries. If for some reason you got a croissant you didn't like then I would encourage you to try another because you're bound to find one you love! read more

Some of the best croissants in the DMV! They have a booth on Saturdays at the Courthouse farmers market and Sundays at the Mosaic farmers market. Definitely get here early if you're planning on trying these out (which you should)! We arrived around an hour after they opened (they open at 8 and we got there at 9) at the Arlington location on Saturday. They didn't have a really long line but was definitely crowded, they were also selling out pretty fast. We were able to try the pistachio and ube supreme croissant (the big swirl ones) and we also ordered a cherry blossom and pistachio regular croissant. The supreme croissants were so worth it! The filling is really light and doesn't make the croissant dense and the flavors were really delicious. These were really similar to the ones from Lafayette bakery in nyc. The original croissants were also good too, they also have a lot of filling (see picture). In my opinion, I liked the supreme croissants more as they had less filling so you were better able to taste the actual croissant (though this is definitely personal preference). read more

Toi moi has the most amazing pastries. If you wanted French patisserie meets classic childhood Asian flavors, this is the bakery for you! Amazing bakes, totally worth the wait in the line if you forget to get a preorder (like me!). It made for an amazing pastry platter for Galentines, and everyone LOVED it. My personal favorite is the Hojicha croissant, but by a small margin to... literally everything else. I love everything at this bakery. PLUS, it's run by the kindest, nicest, and most genuine people I have ever met, which I recognized immediately when I met them for the first time at Mosaic District (I stood in line on a whim with a friend who introduced me). I love their croissants and pastries! The ladies who work there are always super nice too! Highly highly recommend!

I wanted just the chocolate croissant, but the one girl kept saying they only had triple chocolate croissants. Her co-worker who was ringing me up said we have it. The other girl proceeded to hit her on the leg and then the girl changed her story and said they didn't have anymore. I saw her! She lied! I clearly saw the plain chocolate croissants and they wouldn't sell it to me! The triple ones were terrible, over baked and hard. I paid over $40 for half a dozen. So disappointed and I stood in line for over an hour! The hype is overrated. Will never recommend this place to anyone. They're just over priced croissants. read more

I have been obsessing about trying this bakery ever since I discovered they make an ube croissant (I'm a sucker for all things ube). I've been following Toimoi Bakery on IG and drooling so when my husband and I had a surprise child free Sunday our first order of business was to drive from Herndon to the Mosaic Farmer's Market to get croissants! We both ordered an ube croissant. The croissants were $6 each, which seems high for me even for a Farmer's Market/supporting local and my primary reason for 3 stars. Had they been $4.50 we would've bought additional flavors to try and I'd probably come back often. The croissants were good, but not remarkable. Word of warning: the ube filling does stain purple. I took a bite and a big glob fell out and landed on my shoe, which a Shout wipe and the washing machine couldn't remove. I'll reserve future visits for special occasions or when there's an interesting flavor, but do recommend trying ToiMoi at least once! read more

Stuffed croissants were so delicious. This is my new favorite bakery. Customer service was excellent.

i went to the newly opened shop in chantilly after the chocolatier posted about the 'food court' at this location. we meandered down a long hallway & found the promised land: a little pink bakery with a one woman show. there were fresh fragrances, gorgeous pastries & a giant croissant shaped as a cube filled with chocolate hazelnut. i asked the question, already assuming the answer, 'is it filled with chocolate or just glazed on top?' IT IS FILLED!!! we knew we needed this so she happily sliced it up, as well ad the last smores muffin & a black sesame marshmallow croissant. YOU HAVE TO GO HERE!!!!! read more

I tried the black sesame, roasted strawberry turnover, ube mochi, and a couple more croissants a few weeks back when I was at the fairfax farmers market! The croissants were quite smaller than I expected, and were also not as flavorful as I wished! Unfortunately, The filling as well as the croissant were not as flavorful as I expected them to be!! The filling flavors were on the more unique end, with the Asian flavor twist, but I wished the flavors had a little more punch to them, instead of being so subtle. By no means were these bad!! ...just not as great as I found other reviews to be is all! read more
