We stopped here for lunch. It's a beautiful cabin like feel with a gorgeous view of the Toccoa River. We sat outside with the best view of the river and their beautiful outdoor space. Excellent service complete with recommendations. We had the fried catfish and my husband had the fried trout sandwich. My draft beer was a citrus wheat that was one of the best I've had. Just the right about of citrus. A perfect beer on a hot day. We shared the smoked fish spread and a scallop special for appetizers. The scallops were prepared with a delicious blackened top. The food was cold and bland. They ran out of everything. They closed early last night. The scenery was beautiful, but that had nothing to do with the restaurant. Nature gets credit there The service was SPECTACULAR. I give fill prrops to anyone who can deal with Tim Richter. He is one of the worst human beings in the planet. We went by early Friday morning to put in a reservation for 6 pm , we're celebrating our 44th wedding anniversary.We were told by leader ( i believe to be the owner ) , we dont take reservations but don't worry we will seat you. This was a great stop! The view was beautiful and the service was good. We stopped in for lunch on a cold cloudy day. We were given the regular menu and the lunch menu. We all ended up ordering the lunch menu. I had the shrimp tacos and my dining partners had the grilled cheese and grouper sandwich. Having driven by here many times, we stopped in last night. It's usually packed but not so much this time. We got a table overlooking the river. This is a beautiful location. Great ambiance on the bank of Toccoa River. Their pecan encrusted rainbow trout is incredible.

The environment is 2nd to none (except for the crazy fan on the closed in porch lol). We ordered the trout because "when in Rome". The pecan trout came highly recommended it was okay but lacked flavor the ranch was great the turnip greens and cheese grits were awesome! Considering all the attention ? Not only would I eat here again ? I'd pay extra to support their ban against ineffective parents. Nothing anywhere says that a poor excuse for a parent can bring their poor excuse for children and submit them to the unsuspecting customers out to enjoy their day or evening. got their dinner time so it was busy. Took 20 minutes for a beer to arrive at the table from the bar. Salads were given out to people, but appetizers did not come out until the main course. I ordered a medium rare filet mignon and lobster tail. When it arrived, the steak was cooked like a hockey puck! The server who is extremely nice and I consider fantastic took plate back to the kitchen and told me that a medium rare steak would be out for me. The manager came out and apologized. A Little while later, she bought back my baked potato and lobster tail with no steak and said they were still cooking the steak. The baked potato was warm, but OK. The lobster tail was cold as ice and rubbery. When my steak finally came out for me to eat, it was not medium rare it was medium well which is basically the same as overcooked! The manager again came out and apologized. me and the other three people that were with me got up and left after paying! I am a frequent customer of this facility. I have also highly recommended to others to give it a try. My last waiter Charles was a 10 out of 10. When I asked for an extra cup of rumalod he naturally provided it. He was also highly apologized that the owner ordered him to add an extra charge to accommodate me. I felt that this was highly rude of the owner. Albeit I paid the extra charge. I wonder if the owner also monitors ketchup usage. We went for my 74 birthday. I've never been more disappointed. I did get a birthday meal but we had to wait so long. There was so much screaming in the kitchen the whole time I've been in blue Ridge a long time and I know that voice well..Tim Richter must still be the owner. They loved the drip coffee - I had Diet Coke. Around the table the food eaten was the fried green tomatoes, hush puppies (OmG they are insane!), trout sandwich, Nashville hot chicken, Korean steak salad & shrimp tacos. If you like spicy you will love the hot chicken sandwich + the hush puppies. Hush puppies have jalapeño in them but not overly spicy. They were sweet too + so well made. We had the best lunch here while in blue ridge for the weekend. We tried 3 different apps and the smoked fish dip was the best by far. We still enjoyed the pickles and mushrooms, but I could have eaten 3 pounds of the dip!!! Toccoa River Grill was quite possibly the worst experience we have ever had at a restaurant. We ate there a few days ago and our food was wonderful and our waiter Charlie was excellent. We went tonight for our 25th wedding anniversary celebration. We ordered a filet mignon medium. It came out medium well to well done. We asked them to take both of our meals and recook a new steak. We wanted both of our meals to be warm and served at the same time. My wife ordered the stuffed shrimp and I ordered the steak. The waitress brought our meals back out and sat them in front of us. She said I reheated your sides. I explained that the steak is well done, even showing her pictures of what a medium cooked steak should look like. She said the cook looked at it and said it was fine. I asked to speak with a manager. A young man came out and told us he was the manager. He looked at the steak and said it was medium well. I told him yes but I didn't ordered it medium-well, I ordered it cooked medium and this had been butterflies and was well done. He said it could have gone either way, clearly not, it was cooked all the way through with no pink showing anywhere! He said well we took it off your ticket. I explained to him it was our 25th anniversary and we just wanted to have a nice meal out. We had been looking forward to eating there since our lunch there the other day. He told us we had to pay for the two sips of tea I drank. It is so ridiculous how bad their customer service is. I think giving them a 1 star is generous. Oh, and the paper menus had food on them!!! We should have read other reviews before we went because since going we learned from the locals and from other reviews that ours was not an isolated case but rather the norm, including 1 review stated that they were charged a $50 up charge because their child was fussy! We even had a great server named Jessa who was very informative about the dishes and even helped us select our dessert when our party was undecided as to which one to get. Lovely lunch quite literally right beside the river. We walked in to the main restaurant/gift shop area, and when we said we wanted to eat outside, we were directed down the stairs towards that area. If you have someone in your party in a wheelchair or who has difficulty navigating stairs, you will not be able to do that. We switched tables after initially ordering beverages, because an option in the shade came up, and didn't want to burn my husband's balding head. I will say, the service was rather slow. On the slow side to be greeted, on the slow side to get beverages, but then once our appetizer came out... Of course, I wished I had ordered that and then waited before ordering entrées as they arrived soon after. Certainly not anything unforgivable, but several others had mentioned that as well. The trout dip appetizer was exceptionally good. They serve it with both crackers and sliced cucumbers, but if you need more crackers, the server offered, and happily brought those out as well. The trout sandwich was exceptional. Hubby had a burger that was good, but he opted for the other half of my sandwich, rather than finishing his burger. (by the way, that's totally OK with me, I had weight-loss surgery recently and don't eat very much. Don't think he's being rude.) This place is definitely off the beaten path, and a bit of a trek, but worth it. We will definitely stop in here when visiting the area again, which will happen. read more

We went here on a Wednesday about 3. We were told they were closing soon for a break before the dinner rush but we could order something as long as it was before 3:30. We got the Crab cakes and fried ravioli and the food was okay, but the restaurant's location is really why you go. This place right on the Toccoa Creek, were many people flock to to go tubing down stream, but it is beautiful. DO NOT GO HERE. Discriminatory, rude, NOT ADA friendly, really... just not friendly at all. Not to mention the food is awful and flavorless and ridiculously overpriced. But, who am I to judge food, I'm just from Nola. We arrived at 4:30pm. Had to wait an hour and a half for terrible food. My 5y/o son, with an exceptionality, held it together so well, did amazing. Until he couldn't any longer. He got up from the table and ran. I quickly followed and guided him towards the front door to re group, only to come back to a very young waiter, who I believe was told to tell us this by the hostess.... His exact words were: 'you are going to have to get your kid under control'. At this point, my son, who was sitting quietly in my lap, was perfectly fine yet heard the entire thing. That an adult, who he didn't know, had scolded him on the very thing that his body fights against, control. The hostess, who stared at us from the moment we entered the place, was now hovering over us at the empty table next to us. It took everything within me to find a manager, which I could not find. Rather, I found a waiter who claimed to be a manager. I said my peace and walked out. Next time, perhaps you can show kindness and understanding instead of judgment and condescension. We visited on a Saturday afternoon over Veterans Day weekend with a group of 9 of us and we really enjoyed this restaurant! The ambiance alone was so wonderful. We sat outside on the patio by the water and we just loved being able to hear it rushing by, it was so peaceful. Their music choice was also so enjoyable, very old-fashioned and we loved it. Service was attentive and we had no trouble getting refills, although order accuracy was a bit off. I had the ribeye and I found it flavorful and my side of fries was adequate (not terribly crispy and a small serving). The side of baby lima beans was tasty. My wife had the trout and enjoyed it, although her side of green beans were not very good and she skipped them. Our dining companions had the pork chop and the filet mignon. The thick porkchop was excellent and not dry as can sometimes happen with such a thick cut. The filet was ordered medium rare and as the diner reported some parts were rare and others were medium, unfortunately not both medium rare.
