That was the first thing that I ordered, I also asked for their Ranchero Toast, and the 1/2 House French Toast! Boy, was I delighted when the waitress brought overr my food! Of course before I devoured all the food I took some pictures, by that time my mouth was already salivating lol Overall it's a very cute and clean place, if the inside is too crowded, they have a spacious outdoor patio area for extra seating. Trust me, after 10:00am it started getting very packed... so if you don't like sitting too close to others or overhearing other people's conversations, I'd suggest the outdoor area. Service: I was with a party of three on NYE. We waited 20 minutes and almost were skipped over - it wasn't until they were about to seat the people who came after us that we stood up from the chairs in the waiting area and the hostess told us "oh I almost skipped over you guys" and laughed. We thought that was weird as it was probably something she could have kept to herself. Our server said hello to us but didn't take our drink order until about 5-10 minutes after we were seated. My friend ordered a coffee and asked for only one cream and sugar (to not waste or contaminate extras) and the server ignored the request and brought what looked like a preset bowl of cream and sugars. He also asked for an extra side of dressing for a side salad and had to re-request because she never brought it out. Food: the table ordered an omelette, a steak toast, and an eggs Benedict. All of the food was cold, as if it was waiting for our server to deliver the food after it had been sitting for a while. I had the Benedict and was very disappointed. The hollandaise sauce was very underwhelming and the English muffin was hard to cut through (probably because it was cold). All in all, this place seemed really overrated and overpriced to me. People around us ordered the tea which looked instagram-worthy so maybe that's what makes them stand out. We ate our food because we were all starving when we arrived, and definitely an hour after when we got our food, but it wasn't worth the wait unfortunately (even considering the NYE rush). So, my wife and I decided to give Toast another chance. Post pandemic re-do. Same issues different day. The food was cold. I understand that smoked salmon is meant to be cold. The eggs, Hollandaise, and english muffin however, probably shouldn't be cold. For these reasons my wife only ate two bites of her entire plate. The one decent part of the entire meal were the potatoes. However, good potatoes does not a good breakfast make. The service definitely needs improvement. We ordered hot lattes and they were brought out iced. We ordered a waffle, it was brought out hot. Unfortunately, it sat there getting cold while we waited for syrup. The servers are very polite and nice but lack attention to detail and urgency. We really tried to give them a second chance. It's been years since we've been to Toast and I know there's been a lot of turnover and overhauling of all their establishments. The story is still the same. We're $80 poorer and still hungry. This is a cute place to have brunch and I love how they have outdoor seating. I actually sat outside and the weather was so perfect to have brunch. I ordered the House Eggs Benedict with country potatoes. The eggs benedict was delicious and the poached eggs were perfectly made. Service was really excellent- from when we were greeted at the door to when we left, we felt like the staff really cared about our experience. Our server was a really sweet lady, kept coming back and asking us how things were, if we needed anything, etc. We ordered: -3 drinks: cucumber lemonade, strawberry lemonade & unicorn iced tea -Bacon Up -Florentine Benny + avocado -House Benny -Strawberry Cheesecake French Toast The lemonades were not our favorite. My cucumber lemonade tasted like cucumbers with only a hint of lemonade and very minimal sweetness. We were disappointed with our beverages. When we got our food, both the eggs on the Florentine and House Benny were overcooked. The yolks were cooked to a medium and did not run out at all when we cut them open. I informed our server and she wanted to take our entire dishes back to redo them but I declined; I didn't want to waste food like that. It wasn't necessary to recook two dishes. I asked that she just bring us new poached eggs and they were perfect the second time. The Strawberry Cheesecake French Toast was very delicious. I loved that fresh strawberries were used versus preserves. The down side is that it was way too sweet for all of us. We joked that it was a good thing our lemonades had no sugar because the French Toast had more than enough for all our drinks. The decor was clean and minimal and ambience was really relaxed. It has a really nice outdoor dining patio as well that I wished we could've been seated at but my girlfriends couldn't tolerate the heat outside. I do recommend this place. We came to this place not too long after pandemic restrictions eased up a bit and we loved it then but now after trying this again so long afterward I think we both adore this place. It is quite expensive but I think with all that we ordered it was warranted. The staff was incredibly warm and inviting and the dining area is really nice even though it can be a bit cramped during their peak hours. All that said it still doesn't change how delicious their food was. I got the chimichurri steak, which was cooked to perfection, while my wife got their Spanish omelette which was a deliciously cheesy and spicy. We also got a sweet toast which had Nutella and almonds on top that was very needed after our super savory dishes and that was also super tasty. All that to say we very much enjoyed our first experience but I think after our second visit we can say we love this place so much. read more

EXCEEDED EXPECTATIONS. I'm so glad I got to stop in at this place. The menu is great. Lots of options. And I was delighted to see the carnivore, vegetarian, and vegan options available on the menu. The equality and diversity friendly menu gave me warm and fuzzy feelings on the inside. It is small inside, not that much room and they do get busy fast. There are some tables for outside seating but your basically sitting in the parking lot. I would suggest getting there early and getting a table inside. Our waiter was really nice and answered all of our questions about the menu. He was friendly and very down to earth. He explained the difference between the potatoes and the French fries (which are fried potatoes and more like chips). My friend ordered eggs benedict, my other friend got the avocado toast with eggs, and I ordered the original avocado toast. All three of us enjoyed our meals. My original avocado toast was great! My favorite brunch place in Whittier! I crave and think about their roasted potatoes all the time paired with a poached egg. A poached egg on top of their salmon toast with avocado is just the most perfect brunch meal in the world. They're always busy on the weekends so try to get onto the waitlist as fast as possible or get there at off meal times. There are a ton of options on their menu & I love that you can order any side (free of charge) with most entrees. My boyfriend got a half order of the house french toast with a side of hashbrowns and he said he didn't enjoy the french toast much. I like how they do their hashbrowns here though because they're essentially crispy thin slivers of fries (-: I also got a Rose latte since those aren't offered everywhere and it was just alright. The rose was slightly too strong but it is always hard to find a good balance with floral flavors like that anyway. Another plus is that our waitress was really on top of coffee and water refills. I like how all the creamers & hot sauces are already on the tables so you don't have to ask for them. I liked that they served my favorite Italian Lavazza coffee and my boyfriend got an Arnold Palmer that comes in a huge mason jar! Stopped by this morning for breakfast since we hadn't visited Toast for a while. We were seated promptly, however when my husband's coffee was served, the mug was dirty and had lipstick stains all around rim. When we addressed it, there was no apology. Once we were ready to order, I asked for a kids plate for myself since I am a bariatric patient and carry my medical card. My husband was going to order his own adult plate. The server said she couldn't put kids order in but to speak to manager. I spoke to manager and was very transparent of my health. She declined request and said to order sides instead of the breakfast kids plate. I was very disappointed in there attitude and of course the lack of empathy and consideration. This might be my favorite brunch restaurant in the world. Their red velvet pancake is ginormous, not too sweet and perfect for two or three people (the pumpkin spice version is very bland). My go to dish is the chimichurri on rye toast. The steak is tender, seasoned and grilled to perfection and the sunny side egg and chimichurri sauce is the icing on the cake and I also get crispy potatoes (you'll thank me later). For the drinks I always go for the unicorn lemonade that comes with a small glass of clear syrup I believe that changes your lemonade from blue to pink. I know it sounds silly but it's a cool experience and it actually taste amazing. It does get a bit busy but I assure you you'll be the happiest of campers when you leave toast. The staff is always polite and professional. It does take a while for the food to come out but you'll know why when you taste the love that goes into the dishes. The restaurant is decorated beautifully white light tones. I love sitting in the outdoor patio which has plenty of shade. read more

Wait times can reach over an hour, however you can easily reserve a spot in line through Yelp, which is highly recommended. Restaurant is very dog friendly which is a huge plus for us. Whittier really needed a spot like this. So far my favorite entrées are the smoked salmon with poached eggs, and chocolate pancake.
