Great place to stop by for lunch. I'll either dine in or call ahead and pick up my order. I love the clubhouse stacker and the pepper soup. On another occasion, I tried the tomato dill soup and loved it as well. I've ordered the stroganoff a few times and my only complaint was whenever I asked for it to be well done, it was undercooked. If you want to dine in, make sure you have at least an hour because they take a while to bring the food out. read more

Waitress changed my tip to get more money from me. When we got the bill there was a 35% TIP added on it. I asked to change it to 15% since my food was so bad that I could not even finish it and we had to wait 40 minutes to get our food. The waitress allowed me to change the tip on the computer ipad screen to 15% but 4 days later when I checked my credit card she actually changed the tip to 40%. Waitress never gave me a receipt even though I asked for one so I have no recourse to challenge it. Worst place EVER! I ordered a Patty melt that was the worst I have EVER had. I couldn't even eat it because it tasted so horrible. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone. read more

I had the Reuben with fries and a diet coke. Came during the weekday about 1pm in the afternoon. I found the sandwich and fries to be standard. Nothing overwhelming about it. Nothing special. I sat a couple of times with an empty glass; which I thought service could have been improved upon as well. I love the ambiance and the restaurant was very clean. read more

One of my go-to restaurants. The location in Fallbrook is perfect and the outdoor seating is great. We almost always get the prime rib dippers for an appetizer and I highly recommend. The drinks are very tasty and refreshing, the summer menu is one of my favorites. read more

Went for lunch with four co-workers. It was close to 1:00 in the afternoon and it was busy. I had a BLT on white toast with cottage cheese as a side. Lots if bacon! Very good. My co-workers had the BBQ sandwich and a hamburger. No complaints from anyone. Great place for lunch with a large bar for after work. Wait staff was fine although it took some time for our food to arrive. Approximately 20 minutes. A long time for lunch. read more

This was my first experience at toast, I've lived in Lincoln for just over a year and people keep telling me left and right that I need to check it out... I feel so silly that it took me this long. What an incredible hidden gem. I am on a very restrictive diet and I feel like I'm the annoying customer and our server Ashlyn was just incredible. She was very knowledgeable and super accommodating... The general manager Jesse came over to check on us, and again I felt like I was greeted with open arms trying out this new spot. The customer service at Toast is not what it used to be. One person in our party found a long, black hair in her food. When we informed the server, she said "I'll get a new one". NO APOLOGY. NO REMORSE. So she did get a new entree, but then when the bill came, I had to request that she remove that entree from our bill. She seemed very annoyed. Basically, she treated us like we were a pain. A couple more curt comments, and she walked away. Things happen. But the manager should have come over to our table. Someone should have apologized, and we never should have been charged for that entree. read more

Just finished the Carolina bbq burger. Holy cow! Talk about some serious flavor! I've heard lots about toast, I frequent their sister restaurant LeadBelly in the hay market and have heard lots about this place. I figured I better come see if this place was approved. The atmosphere is really nice at TOAST. They have gourmet coffee, wine, beer, and some fantastic food. I came with a group of people and we all ordered something different. Okay, this place is kind of a gem in Lincoln, I come here quite often with my friends and everything is good! You're not going to see a lot of farmer types in this place, but the food is good. The service was very good, but you should understand that you're not going to get in and out of this place in a hurry. I took the wife and my 3 kids on a Friday night and everybody ordered something different. It was all good... from the hot wings to the grilled cheese to the reuben to the pasta. The coffee was excellent (says the wife), and we all enjoyed a variety of desserts from apple pie and ice cream, just ice cream, and a fancy, shmancy cupcake. The only complaints is that it isn't a little closer to home, but we'll drive the 30 minutes it takes to get there because you'll get a great meal. read more

Always wanting to go to a locally own restaurants, my son brought us to Toast. Nice place tucked away in the northwest part of Lincoln. It is close to the airports. Glad my son knew how to get here. I would have to use a mapping system. It was hard to decide what to try. Everything sounds wonderful. Our soda and teas were served in a quart canning jars. You could get an adult beverage if wanted. Toast is gross, the service was awful the bartender was annoyed that I could bother her with a beer. I ordered a blue moon and the orange came from a jar sitting on the counter not refrigerated. The sandwich I ordered was ice cold and dry and just nasty. The wings were good but not good enough to overlook how dirty the bar was. The entire bar was just covered in filth and flies. Four Visits, Four Disappointments -- The Value Simply Isn't There…read more We've given Aragon Tavern three separate opportunities, and unfortunately, all three visits have left us severely disappointed. We understand the concept. We appreciate ambition, creativity, and a restaurant trying to offer something beyond the ordinary. But ambition and execution are two very different things, and Aragon consistently falls short where it matters most: the actual dining experience and the value for the money. The pricing suggests an elevated, almost Michelin-inspired experience in a tavern setting. There's nothing wrong with that concept. In fact, it could be fantastic. The problem is that the food and overall experience simply don't justify the prices being charged. When you position yourself at that price point, the execution needs to be consistent, the experience needs to feel intentional, and the customer should leave feeling that the meal was worth what they paid. That hasn't been our experience on any of our three visits. During one visit, we asked the bartender a straightforward question: How would you describe this restaurant, and what lasting impression should guests walk away with? The response was that they were still trying to figure that out, despite having been open for several years. That answer was telling. A restaurant can evolve, experiment, and refine its identity, but after several years, you would expect a clear vision of what it wants to be and what makes it worth seeking out. Aragon seems to be charging for the experience it aspires to deliver rather than consistently delivering an experience that earns those prices. Lincoln has plenty of dining options, and at this price point, there are restaurants that deliver a far more compelling combination of food quality, hospitality, atmosphere, and value. We've tried Aragon three times because we wanted to like it. Unfortunately, we've walked away disappointed three times. The concept has potential. The execution and value just aren't there. Until those two things catch up with the pricing, we can't justify returning.

I worked in the area up until a few months ago and have been to Toast at least a dozen times for work related lunches. Each and every time there has been some sub par experience with the incredibly rude owner (perhaps a sociopath) or the rude staff. I was recently alerted that they have the highest turnover rate of any restaurant in Lincoln and it is no surprise. The owner probably treats her employees the same way she does customers, so it's no surprise they don't stay. The food is mediocre at best and always inconsistent in quality. Unfortunately, the first impression could use some improvement. Upon entering, guests step into a small lobby with two interior doors--one designated as the entrance and the other as the exit. Once inside, a host greets you, hands you a menu, and escorts you to your table. Along the way, you pass the restaurant's salad bar, which should serve as an inviting showcase of the food offered inside. Instead, the salad bar was the low point of my visit. On the day I was there, it appeared messy and poorly maintained. A salad bar requires constant attention to keep it looking fresh, attractive, and clean, and that simply wasn't the case during my visit. Given its prominent location, it creates an impression that management should work harder to improve. The Eatery's menu, however, is extensive and impressive. There's truly something for everyone. The unlimited salad bar is priced at $14.99, or $7.99 when added to an entrée. Based on what I observed, that seemed a bit steep, so I decided to pass. Instead, I ordered the Smokey Chicken Stacker with fries on the recommendation of my server. It turned out to be an excellent choice. The sandwich was flavorful, the fries were perfectly prepared, and the meal arrived at my table less than ten minutes after ordering--a testament to an efficient kitchen. Overall, I came away believing that The Eatery serves solid food, but the décor, atmosphere, and overall layout feel somewhat dated and uninspiring. The appearance of the salad bar was the biggest negative of the experience for me. Would I return? If I lived or worked in the neighborhood, probably yes. However, since I don't, it's unlikely that I would make a special trip back.
