We were told by the locals that you could get a very good breakfast for a great price. THEY WERE RIGHT! I had the original breakfast which consisted of Two large eggs, hash browns, two slices of toast and bacon. Others in our group had the Chicken fried steak breakfast and they were impressed. I love where the restaurant is located, it's looks like an old ballroom or something like that. The food is great, it's one of those things that they know how to make good, classic breakfast. The service was ok and the food took a while to come out but I know it was busy so I give them a pass. We went on Saturday for brunch it was crowded. They have a seating area outside and parking directly outside the restaurant. On the right side agter entering- there is a coffee shop. On the left is the restaurant. We had to wait for 15 minutes as they were packed. Tip here: you can call to he put on their waiting list. Some other patrons did just that and breezed into the restaurant. We will do that next time. Ambience is very cozy. Lots of coffee related decorations. And feels very homely. Our server was very delightful. She gave us just sufficient time to look at the menu and breezed in with our drinks. We had to wait awhile for our food. But oh my god. It was a great wait. I ordered boozy cold brew with Irish cream. It was delicious. Just great on the coffee and just the right amount of booze. The pork chop specials i ordered was deeeeliiiiiiiicioussssssss!!! Came in for brunch with my wife. Tood about 15 minutes to get a table for 2. Which speaks to the quality if you asked me. (Call ahead) We got seated and ordered drinks and water. I had a screw driver. Our waitress returned to take our order. I had the sweet combo (pancakes, eggs and meat. Subbing out the potatoes for white toast) it was fabulous. I've gone twice now, the first time I got the chicken and waffles - delicious! This time I got the baked French toast. Their bacon is also really good! The service is really good! They have been packed both times I've gone. My only complaints would be they probably need to do a deep cleaning (dusting) the bathroom. And they give 3 strips of bacon which seems weird. Delicious! I love breakfast and brunch so much. My food here did not disappoint! Decided to change it up and got a fried steak which was amazing with hash browns and eggs over easy. Tons of gravy and a plate of berry toast which was fun. So much food but I was famished so I ate every single bite! When we got there they were busy which is always a sign of a good place! I love, love, love it here.... The cinnamon rolls are delicious, the French toast chefs kiss, the hash browns are over cooked a lot and dry and the eggs well I can tell the difference in bagged eggs and real eggs and they use liquid bag eggs when you order scrambled eggs and that is disappointing. It doesn't take but 5-10 minutes extra to crack real eggs for scrambled eggs please take this into consideration. read more

Beautiful ambience - the interior is well decorated and felt spacious even though the restaurant was full when I sat down. The service was also great. I noticed that there were many customers who spoke to the employees like they were regulars and I appreciate a business that cultivates that sort of relationship. Went about 9 on a Wednesday morning and they stayed busy the whole we were there. Definitely a popular spot for the locals. Had a very personable waitress who chatted with our new college student about cats. All the food was good. Portion sizes are huge for the cost. The stuffed waffle was phenomenal. Stopped in here for a quick bite to refuel on a red eye road trip. Picked this place simply because it was a short detour from our route and it had great reviews. Pulling up to a full parking lot at the crack of dawn seemed like a good sign. It was about 80% full inside when we initially arrived *15 min after they opened the doors* which I certainly was not expecting. Looks like we found one of the local favorites for breakfast. The atmosphere inside is casual. We were seated immediately & had prompt, friendly service from our waitress. The menu is quite large and certainly has something for everyone. I ordered the vegetarian Benedict. It was very flavorful with the peppers, tomatoes, and perfect hollandaise. I stole a bite of my friends French toast and wasn't too impressed with that. Coffee was constantly replenished and flowing. The only con for me was the booth I sat on. A red velvet material covered in stains didn't give me the best impression initially when being seated and made me question the cleanliness of the establishment- however everything else was solid so I was able to look past this detail.. I'd recommend the owner to replace it soon with a different material such as leather that you can sanitize in case of the inevitable spills, such as leather or a faux leather alternative. I finally went here with a group of friends right after work, off of another friend's recommendation. This place had a neat entrance and was very laid back. Our server Kelsey was really nice! Some of my friends had differences of opinions here, so for the record, this is my review only. One of my friends and I shared our plates. I was able to bless her with paying today! We started off with ordering the cinnamon flavored coffee. Was pretty tasty and to my strength of brew I can handle. I ordered two plates. First, the biscuits and gravy. I really enjoyed as this is my favorite breakfast item wherever I go! Gravy made perfectly and biscuits also done right. I shared half the biscuits and gravy as its a good size order, but for $6, great value! The second plate I ordered was the cinnamon roll, which also came with 2 eggs over medium and well done bacon as I liked. Cinnamon roll was average. My main friend ordered the NY steak & eggs with potatoes and rye toast. I tried the NY steak and it was made excellent to the taste!!! Was an overall great experience here! This was my first time at the new Cook's Cafe location - but it won't be my last! The outstanding food quality and service traveled with this diner to it's new, more spacious, and more elegant interior. Our server, Timothy was prompt, professional, and genuinely friendly. In fact, everyone we met was friendly - in a very welcoming and helpful way. That's evidence of a well trained and engaged staff - something that's so hard for many restaurants today. I ordered the Full Biscuits and Gravy with home fries, sausage, and eggs (Yup, I was hungry!). The biscuits were soft, fluffy; the eggs done perfectly; and the home fries were just like grandma's! Delicious. The gravy was a touch too thick for me, but tasty and seasoned appropriately. I ordered link sausages and would do patties next time. I got the Cali omelette. It was way overpriced and did not even come with a side. The cheese for the omelette was on top of it looked like a craft white single (Photo included). The cup of coffee I got was also very week .Hashbrows & service were solid. This was my first time at cooks and I was overall disappointed. Second visit was better than the first, packed house this time so had a 45 minute wait but totally worth it, they do take reservations so would advise you call ahead on weekends. This time we ordered the country fried steak and eggs, chicken and waffles, cherry and chocolate French toast special and the maxi breakfast combo, everything was amazing especially the country fried steak it was ridiculously good. Such a lovely humble cafe located in an area that I always commute by. Glad to have finally visited this place. I ordered the waffles & chicken. The waffles were fluffy and decadent. I simply wished the chicken was a bit more crunchy and savory. Other than that the service was fast! Ordered an oat milk brown sugar hot latte as well! Things actually started well when we were told there would be about a 20 minute wait but got seated in around 10. However that was where the positive surprises ended. After being seated it took nearly 10 minutes just to be asked what we wanted to drink and then longer to get the drinks. The coffee tasted like it had been aged on the burner, and they only had non dairy creamer. We do acknowledge that many places are short staffed and we considered that while calmly waiting 30+ minutes to be asked what we wanted to eat, while the staff was walking in circles and organizing coffee mugs. It got to to the point where as much as we hate feeling inconsiderate we had to flag a waitress down to order the food. Then after ordering it took longer than expected to get the food and also another surprise of 5 waitresses helping bring the food out, which was more than I had ever seen in a restaurant of that size so kind of killed the understaffed excuse I was making to try to be empathetic. The food itself left much to be desired despite what we had thought sounded like a pretty cool menu..all in all this is not a place I feel I'd have any desire to return to. I never blame the wait staff for these issues but think that there should be someone there who can manage things to run smoother. read more

Never in my life have I had a problem cutting pancakes. Usually you can cut a pancake with a fork ... not the pancakes I got - I couldn't even cut the pancakes with a knife! I kid you not - the pancakes were rubbery. The waitress was kind enough to get me a new plate of pancakes. I was able to eat some of the new plate of pancakes, but they were bland. Besides the rubbery pancakes, I had to kill a black ant that was crawling around the bowl that held coffee creamer. This was inside the restaurant - not patio dining.
