Super great find in Apache Junction. We shared the Divorced Benedict and the Chilaquiles. Both were absolutely delicious! I had a mimosa and my hubby had the Lost Dutchman which was heaven in a glass! Small and cozy place with great views of the Superstition Mountains. Kept giving it a chance taking friends and family who visit AJ, but staff are rude everytime, the woman are rude and quick not ever checking to see if you need anything..one time I was waiting on a friend the lady seating me said wait and sat the ppl down behind me, at that point I am like screw this and went to hackers, staff are friendly and ask if you need anything else. Really bad service. Took a very long time for service, had to ask for sauce and check. They didn't seem that busy. The kitchen manager brought out the "cheese crispy " it was excellent , the fish tacos were very fishy, ick. And the upcharge ? An extra $1 for breading????? Just put it in the price!! The service was ok the eggs were good but the potatoes were cold and dried out, and the bacon was burnt. The coffee cup had some weird stickers on it that were coming off on the edge of the cup making it hard to drink, I don't know how it could be sanitized. Watch out, ok food ahead! After reading all the rave reviews, we thought to try this place out. It looked like your typical fav locals only spot. The place was packed. We were seated after a brief wait. Our server placed our order, then we waited. Solid half hour for our breakfast. During that time we finished our tea and water with no refills. The food came and what a let down. My wife's three egg scramble was more like a single egg with veggies. It was served on a rectangular plate, and spread out, but the amount of food was not fooling anybody. My breakfast burrito was ok, but was overpriced. For $50 there are better options out there. Maybe we were there on an off day, but not sure if we will be going back. read more

This lost dutchman coffee however was the best drink i've ever had in my life. it has salted caramel whiskey, jameson cold brew and irish cream. the toast mimosa was also delicious so depends on what you prefer in the morning, orange juice or coffee. the server was a really attentive listener. the bathrooms have full body length mirrors and were really clean. It is a small place, but the food is really good! We came in a little after 10 am on Saturday and waited about 15 min to get a table. It took a while for the food to come in.... I had farm fresh scramble (broccoli, asparagus, tomatoes, mushrooms and goat cheese) with breakfast potatoes and a side of a pancake instead of a toast. My husband had superstition burrito. I gave three stars because the food was good minus I got served a cold coffee after the waitress remembered I ordered it. They messed up my daughters order but the biggest thing that upset me is it had to be 80-90 degrees inside and if it rains good luck because the humidity inside will be miserable. If the environment improves I would probably come back. My recommendation check them out but before sitting down make sure it's not a sauna inside. read more

THIS PLACE!! FRANKIE!! THE FOOD!! THE VIEW!!! You absolutely can not go wrong with this restaurant. We came for breakfast expecting a Dennys vibe..nope!! Far exceeded our expectation. The parking is plentiful..pick a spot on the dirt and park. The inside of the spot is great. You get a laugh in every corner..every wall.. the food is so good. I got the superstition burrito and I demolished that bad boy. Portions are huge prices are small in comparison. The drinks were perfectly balanced. But the golden piece was 1000000% the service. We were seated immediately. The people kept coming and everyone was seated in a timely manner. Our server, Frankie, is hands down the best server I have ever had. She came to check on us a few times but not in that annoying way where you can't take a bite without being bothered. When she did come around she made us laugh. It was like breakfast and a show. We live an hour away from AJ but plan to come back often. I am tempted to not post this review out of fear it's going to get even more popular than it is now and having to wait in a long line...the place is great tho and the wait will be worth it! read more

Toast Gio's is an off the beaten path, "locals only" esque diner. One of my friends has snow bird parents in Gold Canyon who frequent here most weekends when he visits them in AZ (he's a "snow bird light"). In fact the day before we ate here after a hike, he'd been to Toast Gio's! Being that we hiked in nearby Dutchman, all 4 of us were fairly ravenous. The food was fabulous, the service was to be desired. Felt like we were a little forgotten about at times (even though it wasn't that busy), which I took notice with no one's offering to regularly refill our water glasses. I was feeling up for a beer with breakfast and the poor server made the bartender come to me on the 3rd attempt at finding one in-stock (no Mich Ultras, Bud Lights) to help me pick from what was available. The plain iced coffee was not available too but I sufficed with one of the delish fancy coffees. It was fairly hard to pick what to order and I am not sad with the Chilaquiles! Everyone really enjoyed their food, not just myself- two of us ordered a scramble, another ordered pancakes. A lot of good for an affordable price. Can't wait to hike and brunch around AJ again with Toast as my brunch spot! read more

Much better quality than some of the other restaurants in AJ (where the servers act like they're doing you a favor). What a great find! We live in Phoenix, but love to come out this way for hiking and Goldfield. We stopped in last Friday for lunch after a hike and it was the prefect spot. Great service, good ambiance, kid-friendly, and a super fun menu, including boozy brunch drinks. But the standout, and the reason I can't stop thinking about getting back there, is the Brunch Torta. I love this little place! Sat outside on the patio for lunch on a Saturday at noon. We got lucky and one of the five or so outdoor tables opened up right as we were walking in. Service was great and it just had a really good vibe. A couple of the food items were a bit of a miss though, which I will detail below. Chilaquiles: these were the thick kind of chip, good for not getting soggy, but I actually sort of like my chilaquiles soggy so for me that was actually a negative. Ha. The chicken is decent, the green salsa is good but I also do prefer my chilaquiles with red sauce. So I would say most people would probably think this was a 4/5, but for me it was 3/5 Huevos rancheros: this was the big winner. Although it was not a super giant portion, the sauce was incredible, the corn tortillas were really fresh, and soaked up just the right amount of the sauce and egg yolk. 5/5 Carnitas skillet: The meat was very good and an interesting mix of veggies along with the diced and well spiced potatoes. 5/5 Side of biscuit and gravy: the biscuit is not the strong suit of this restaurant. Would recommend passing on this. The gravy also was a bit watery. The sourdough on the other hand was really good, recommend getting that instead. For the biscuit and gravy I would give a 2/5 Bloody Mary: very good! Strong, as expected, and came promptly after ordering it 5/5 French connection coffee: I feared that this would be too sweet, but actually it was not at all. The cognac balanced well with the coffee and the only sweet part really was the whipped cream on top. For 6.50 this was a steal and stronger than I thought it would be. Both were excellent. Best time to come is before 830 AM as it starts to really fill up then. For lunch we just wanted a burger. Ordered different types and I was barely able to finish the burger! For 10 AM on a Saturday, the wait was reasonable. The aesthetic is a mixture of diner and Cantina. The wait staff is friendly. Our waitress, Jayme , recommended the Bloody Mary. It did not disappoint. It included an olive, bacon, and a vodka moonshine pickle. Oh so good! The Mexican, hot chocolate, which is seasonal, tasted homemade like Abuela made it. We ordered two opposite breakfasts, the Chilaquiles, and an egg scramble. If you're not afraid of a little heat, the Chilaquiles are made with chicken tinga and served with a medium spiced chili verde sauce. They do not disappoint. We ordered a plain egg scramble, with bacon, nopales, and the fried potatoes. If you ever get an opportunity to try scrambled eggs this way, give it a try. Not only are nopales a family favorite, but combined with bacon they really opened up the flavor of the eggs. As always everything we ate was gluten free. read more

Around noon on Friday. My friend and I came in. We stood in the entrance. Sign said wait to be seated. Noone said hello. A lady came up and pointed and gestured to sit wherever. Gave us menus and water. We looked at the menu, chatting, and waited. Again, no one acknowledged that we were their table. Finally, the waitress that came had walked by us more than a couple times. You can't say Hi? She took our drink order and and asked if we were ready to order. Yes,you gave us more than enough time. I ordered a burger. Asked for cheese. Waitress asked how I like my burger. I said medium surpriseed I was given a choice. She said , you can have it medium rare. I said, yes!: Excited! Only to get a well done burger. She didn't come back until we were almost done. I didn't bother to complain. We also wanted to split our Bill. She dropped the check quickly along with requested take out boxes. We were done waiting for her and being mostly ignored. Her tip reflected the service. This place full of seniors and they were more important to her. Hope they tip well. read more

I'm going to echo Sheila here and say the service was lacking. I was on my lunch, and it took 35 minutes after I ordered to get my burger. I ordered it medium, but it arrived well-done. I was so hungry that I ate about half of it. The lettuce and tomatoes were bland, tasting like typical Sysco fare. The ketchup was cheap and arrived in plastic containers--what an unnecessary waste. The fries were okay, but tasted like they were fried in old oil (a problem at many Arizona restaurants). My server, Kayla, never checked back to see how my food was. The place wasn't filthy, but wasn't exactly tidy, either. To their credit, they did give me a 50% discount on my burger and the manager was very friendly. read more
