Breakfast bruschetta w/ side of bacon fried rice
    Reyna R.

I got the breakfast bruschetta as my meal with a side of bacon fried rice. The rice was flavorful, but not sure how I felt about eating that for breakfast. The balsamic glaze was too strong for my liking. Got the oatmeal raisin cookie hot chocolate, and asked for it half sweet. It was yummy, but even then, it was still sweet. The iced bee-stachio latte was good. Did think it was very expensive though - $9.50 for a latte!? Went around 11am on a weekday and got seated right away. It was pretty full for a weekday. There was a lot of seating at tables and at the bar. Our waiter was still training, but he was very professional and sweet.

Really cute restaurant that's been around for quite a while but I hadn't ventured out to this location for a long time. Today we walked in around noon and were seated immediately, although most of the restaurant was already full. Our server was very nice and explained the menu well. I felt the latte I got was quite expensive (9.50) but very very good. The classic eggs Benedict was also very good and plentiful. We also had the corned beef hash that was delicious. My only gripes really were the tight parking lot situation in the back and the lack of napkins for our very messy food lol otherwise everything was really good and although a bit pricey, I'd say it was worth it.

An absolute must for me any time I am in Ferndale at breakfast time! The ambiance has a Greenwich Village vibe with unique and delicious food options. I've never had anything there that I didn't like, and the Dulce de Leche Grilled Cinnamon Roll is out of control! A few favorites for me are the Huevos Rancheros, Bacon Fried Rice, and the Parisian omelet (recommend you ask them to go light on the Chèvre tho ;)). The Service has always been excellent and provided by cool and interesting humans. If you are looking for a cheap, greasy spoon brekkie, this ain't it!

Great spot for brunch. I got the matcha with muddled strawberry vanilla and it was delicious. We also enjoyed the chicken and waffles and house fries. Service was great!

Food was very good. Coffee is excellent. I tend not to like strong coffee the second round. I did a little Baileys with it. They're overpriced but nowadays everything is I said at the bar if I didn't, I would've had a wait. The ambience is fun and crowded so you know the food is delicious

Wonderful atmosphere and ambience! Busy but still enjoyable and intimate. We arrived with a group of 7 and they seated us quickly even though the restaurant had a good crowd. The service was impeccable! Friendly and efficient. It's a very upbeat place and it felt comforting especially when the deliciously prepared entrees arrived. Loved the holiday decor! Sweet or savory: you cannot go wrong. Homemade breads, jams and sauces. A variety of hot sauces at the table is always a winner! This place totally hits! Would very much recommend!

Way way over priced for what it is. We had a gift card for $50 and still had to pay $13.63 for two people. That did not include the tip? Over $70 for breakfast? That's insane Waitress was very nice. First Watch is definitely better! Food was just okay.

I tried Toast for the first time and enjoyed everything. The service was great and ambiance was well needed on a Sunday.. I will be returning with friends and family.

Toast in Ferndale is my favorite brunch destination with fabulous food and a great staff. They DO add the 20% tip but we usually leave more because we LOVE Juju, our favorite server, although everyone is just lovely. They cook my eggs in butter, which you need to ask them to do if you have allergies to seed oils. TOAST IS THE BEST!!!

It has intimate lighting and is quiet enough for conversing. It's nice without being so nice that a dress code is required. The food was great! I really enjoyed my tacos which were all well-curated. I thought all of the toppings and salsas matched the proteins of the tacos I chose perfectly. They were also not too dry or saucy, so it was easy to pick up and enjoyable to eat. Of the 3 I tried, I liked either the Al Pastor or Adobada De Pollo the most. The Camaron was a bit too smokey for me, but I could see other people really liking that. I also got the Sinners Savior cocktail which was lacking in tomato flavor and spice, but it was still a decent drink. Overall, I would come back if I'm in the mood for more elevated Mexican food or looking for a place in Ferndale to dine in with others.

I ordered the Chiles Rellenos Queso with a Classic Michelada, and my husband had the Tortas Ahogadas with a Paloma. Everything was delicious, the cheesy filled pepper was squeaky and came with tortillas to fill with rice and beans. It was satisfying and not overly filling, our table was clear of takeout boxes, but in saying that, we didn't have room for dessert. Service was friendly -- maybe not the quickest -- but I appreciated not feeling rushed or like they were trying to flip tables. I've read reviews complaining about how this isn't Authentic Mexican Food. Do you know what I care…read moreabout when I go to a restaurant? I care if the food is good. If I want authentic Mexican food, I'll go to Mexican Town. Camellia's has good food, and I was happy I stopped here to eat. First, I'll start with maybe the most inauthentic item first. The chorizo and ground beef "sliders" were actually 2 burgers in regular-sized buns. Each had maybe 3 ounces of meat, and they were good, Not "I can feel the breeze off the beach in Cancun" good, but it was good with a smear of pretty authentic-tasting guacamole. We ordered chips with guacamole as a starter, and these seem to be pretty darned authentic chips. They were sturdy, with a terrific corn flavor, and a nice crunch to them. Definitely not Tostitos. The large amount of not-authentic-Mexican fries served with the "sliders" were excellent skin-on shoestring fries. My wife ordered chicken and steak fajitas. She didn't like the steak, saying it was too chewy. I have to say, it was maybe a tough cut of steak, and it was a bit overly salty, but I liked the flavor. The chicken was good, with a bit less seasoning. The rest consisted of all the things you expect in fajitas, and all of it was solid. I liked the drink selection. There were actually more Mexican beers here than I have ever seen in Mexican Town. Negra Modelo on tap? I wish I were able to get that when I go downtown, but I'm glad I was able to get a large glass for a reasonable price here. There were a lot of different flavors of margaritas. My wife loved the peach margarita she ordered. There were two waitresses, and a mostly full house, and they were able to keep up with the demand. The price was reasonable for the large portions of food, too. I'm not giving up on the delicious food in Mexican town, but I definitely wouldn't mind coming back here again for something less authentic, but still tasty.

What a surprise when getting the bill. And all the veggie burrito consisted of was onions, green peppers, tomatoes and lettuce. Why would this cost extra? Ridiculous. Between surprises like this and having to pay for chips and salsa, it's a wonder this place stays in business. It's a shame as the food is good.

The people working here were so friendly and personable with literally everyone that walked in the door. The service was top notch. It is also the most adorable place giving vibes of Lamy's food counter at Henry Ford Museum. I loved all of the options on the menu and it was so hard just picking a couple items to try. We had chicken tacos. They were so good and so fresh, I loved the sauce on top. Honestly, I am not sure if it was cheese or a sour cream type mixture, but it was creamy and flavorful. I also had the torta which was absolutely incredible. It had the same chicken as the taco. The chicken was slow cooked or stewed and shredded and was so flavorful, like a homecooked chef's kiss. The bread was fresh. I loved the sauce poured over it, making it a dipped and soaked sandwich. The carrots and cilantro, sliced radishes and sliced fresh jalapenos added a level of crunch, freshness and deeper flavor profile. I would want to get this every time. We also tried their delicious "curly" fries, which were like julienned shoestring fries fired fresh. It seemed like every dish was made fresh and right in front of you. So worth it, plus the prices are great. I would love to try their fried chicken plate, their breakfast sandwiches, and their other desserts. We talked to the man behind the counter who seemed like maybe a manager. He gave us their famous chocolate chip cookie to try. It was fresh baked and delicious. I would love to take home more of those. It looked so simple but was better than many bakeries specializing in cookies alone. He also gave us an second order of fries to take home with my leftovers, just top notch kindness and service. This man told us that OWL owns other restaurants and we would probably like them. I am open to trying more of their group but I do want to return here.
