After a major accident that totaled my car, I found myself back on the market for my next vehicle…read morepurchase. I was very leary of purchasing pre-owned as I have heard so many horror car buying stories of shady salesman, selling faulty vehicles and lacking clarity about the true vehicle condition, so I started my research. It took me close to a month of research, before I found a preowned dealership that still honored integrity. I knew the cars I was interested in and found my way to Goldie's. I was working with another dealership, as I had been pre-approved, but let me tell you what made the difference.. the service at Goldie's ! Through text and email, John, my sales-friend, (I call him) was so relatable and communicative. Walking in I have to admit is pretty cool, in the show room they had a old school IMMACULATE Corvette, a skew ball machine, and arcade games it felt unlike any other dealership I had walked in. The owners son greeted me and asked if I needed anything and to let him know if I did! He was the sweetest teenager. When they say Goldie's is a family business they really mean it ! I was working with John and let me tell you he was so transparent and honest it was like a breath of fresh air. I had considered other vehicles they had but he talked me through the maintenance cost, resale value and common mechanical issues each of the cars I had considered. Once I settled on a vehicle he was able to check for me the maintenance records as well as reviewed the carfax report with me. When I took the car for a test drive he told me to take my time get to know the car and make sure it was right for me. I never felt pressured to purchase. I was having a horrible time in dealing with the insurance payout of my previous vehicle and John was very empathetic in understanding my situation. He had set expectations before I came that with the insurance payout being delayed I may not be able to take the vehicle the vehicle home. I was thrilled with the no pressure atmosphere, and just came to take a look at the vehicle in person, with zero expectation to buy. John and his manager worked magic. I did in fact decide to purchase my vehicle and was able to take it home, there is a small cosmetic issue that I requested to have repaired and he called immediately and got the approval to get it taken care of. I'll be returning later this week to have that completed. I'll keep you guys posted after the service appointment. I had a great experience and I feel I got a good deal on my vehicle and, I felt like my business was valued, my concerns were heard and they've made a lifelong customer out of me ! Special thanks to Goldie's and super special thanks to John!

It has been 11 months & here is the good bad & ugly, with my experience of cactus jacks. I moved…read morefrom 5 stars to 3 stars due to a couple factors. The Good: -cactus jacks got me into a car where no one else could or would (excuse of residence time plus 1 repo on record). -If you don't have insurance you can pay $60 bi-weekly for coverage ( mind you it is basic coverage but it is legal for the protection of the car only) -If you are trying to fix you credit cactus jacks does report to the credit bureaus The Bad: -I signed up for payments of $420 a month w/ payments being owed exactly 2 weeks from the date of car pickup ( wished they gave me more time before a payment was due but ok). -payments are due on how you get paid. Monthly, bi-weekly, I got paid bi-weekly at the time so they refused to allow monthly . (This is ridiculous who pays bi-weekly?) i wish there was a choice. Oh well desperate times -The interest is extremely high" it doesn't matter your credit" I am paying 25.20 percent $11.50 a day in interest. Total $8000 extra on a $15,000 loan even after my down payment ( another biting of the bullet) the KBB for car is $8600. This is definitely why the company is still in business. The ugly: -I pay my payment plus much extra every payment & no matter what I still get a call for my payment being late.. -I have made my payment a week early, on time, much earlier then a week then the due date but because you can only pay by phone ($15 charge) hell no.. or pay at Walmart $1.50 (which takes 4-9 days to post to account) This is literally the window of being early to being due to being late. I tried to be like "hey let me call Cactus jacks & give the payment confirmation number to a rep so it can be attached to my account so they know my account is paid "nope still called for account being late" I then was like ok let me make a months payment upfront "nope still get calls because the payment posts when due". I was told by rep this is based on how the system works. I have tried every way possible to not gain a call from cactus jacks because I PAY MY BILLS, but they still call. I am told it's an auto dialing system they use.. it's out of control & in reality feels like unnecessary harassment. -another thing is if you pay bi-weekly "which I am sure 99% of ppl are forced to do, there is 3 months of the year where you get paid 3 times. Cactus Jack's expects you to make that 3rd payment or will consider your account past due and then the calls really come in. This is extremely stressful & annoying & bothersome. (I really wish this was explained when signing for the loan). Here's the kicker With the payment not processing (if not paying over the phone) payment is not received until 4-9 days & you throw in a 3rd payment at random due to pay cycle in a 30 day window I get like 8 calls a day" even if the amount is paid & confirmation is given to a rep. ABSOLUTE INSANITY.... This is the main reason I have decided to get the F out of my loan. -FYI keep every receipt & payment you ever make & be ready to argue your case. I have had a couple times where Cactus jacks states they never received a payment in almost 2 weeks after being due, even after I called in the confirmation number beforehand, after paying the payment early & had to argue that it was paid already I read the receipt to them directly, even after that I still had to argue & prove that account was paid early, once the realize or actually listen to what you are saying they say " oh payment hasn't posted yet" give it a couple days more "I WILL NOTATE ACCT" so infuriating -also Whoever the manger guy is that you will be transferred to if the rep can't help you or gets stumped on a question is the rudest, nastiest person ever. He will yell at you, Degrade you & hang up on you. GET HIM THE HELL OUT OF THERE....!!!! In the end I give them 3 stars & have decided to at this point save up & buy a car in cash & give my car to a family member that is able to pay off the full loan. 1. to beat the interest amount & 2. I am over the experience altogether & ready to just get into a car that is paid off & owe no one nothing. Proceed with caution when buying a car from anywhere Cactus jacks included but if you are desperate please heed this review as your heads up.

From the first call to the delivery these guys went above and beyond. RUN, don't walk away from this dealership! We bought a…read morevehicle in late August and in the last few days have discovered significant issues. We were told there was only a 15 day warranty (we opted not to pay for an extended warranty because the inspection came back solid, or so we were told, so we didn't think and extended warranty was necessary), and while we were given a number and told to "call if we had any issues", we thought that nothing could be done as it was past the 15 day mark, and if the car was overheating within minutes, I don't think it would have made the 14 mi drive to the dealership. So we chose to take it to our trusted mechanic that we've used for years, plus our mechanic opens at 7am so my husband could still get to work on time. Telling me that they'd have had a mechanic meet us at 9am, as if they'd be doing us this big favor (because they open at 10am) isn't exactly a solution. Come to find out, the car needed $4400 worth of work, majority of which could not have just popped up out of nowhere in the less than a month that we've had the car. So if the car was fully inspected before purchased like we were told that it was, there's no way they wouldn't have found these things. When I called and spoke to ownership, they were more focused on blaming us for not calling them first to "give them an opportunity" and for "choosing" to take it to another mechanic. This car never should have even left the lot in that condition and yeah I yelled at the guy on the phone (but not right off the bat-- I really tried to be patient), mostly because I was frustrated that he kept talking over me, interrupting me, and using the same useless, blaming phrases over and over when all I was asking was how we move forward from here. The only solution offered during that call was that I should call our mechanic and have him put back together what he'd already taken apart. But then in addition to the cost of that labor, we'd also incur the cost of a tow truck, because it would not have been safe to drive in the condition it was in. And here's the thing. There's all these positive Google reviews saying how friendly they are and how good their customer service is. But those are happy customers. Everyone loves a happy customer. It's how you treat a disgruntled customer that counts and that is a necessary skill to have if you're going to own a business. Take this as a learning experience, because if you treat customers like that, especially an unhappy customer seeking a realistic solution, I wouldn't refer my worst enemy to the business. Last Friday (it's now Tuesday), the owner told my husband that he would look over an itemized bill from the mechanic we took the car to "see where we're at" and "might be able to" reimburse us for anything that their inspection should have caught. He took days to even send his email to us for us to forward the itemized bill and has since been dodging our calls. I want to re-state that this was the same person who was swearing up and down that he "could have been reached anytime, day or night", and now won't answer our calls or texts.

We purchased a fantastic Honda Accord from Hudson's autos yesterday. We had been looking for an…read moreolder car in good condition for my mom, a challenge but not impossible. The process can be so long and frustrating, it was turning out to be one disappointment after another as we went and checked out cars in different places. One used dealer was cocky as always when we tried to negotiate with him about a vehicle that obviously needed several repairs. That dealer said they'd do the repairs for us for an extra $500 on top of a car that was already $1500 over blue book value yeah right. We walked away from that place and shook the dust off our feet lol. Then we looked at some private owner vehicles, all said there were no issues with their cars but when we went to look there were alas several issues. We tried negotiating with the private owners successfully but then the deal would fall through for one reason or another. My mom hasn't bought a car in 20 years so she was getting very discouraged. My husband and I decided to look on our own and check out a vehicle first before telling Mom so she wouldn't have to deal with more disappointment. I found Hudson's auto on OfferUp. Hubby was against it because they're a dealer but I was impressed that the car price was right around the actual blue book value and not sky high over the top. We contacted them with a reply right away. They let us come look within an hour and everything seemed to check out. There were a few issues with the car, as there always will be with a 20 year old vehicle. My husband knows cars very well, his whole life and family are in the car industry, so as he went through inspecting the car, George was there with him letting my husband know the work he had done. Hubby verified that it was accurate. We felt really good about George and were getting the sense that he was an honest business man. He even offered the student deal for my mom since she's a teacher, which he didn't have to do! He offered to fix a few minor issues as well before we paid and signed the deal, which he didn't have to do. We will be recommending Hudson's Autos to everyone we know. Fair prices, quality used vehicles, excellent customer service, knowledgeable and helpful, and they go the extra mile. I didn't expect to be amazed, but we are! This is really a family run business, George's wife does paperwork and their son is even with them in the office. In considering a dealer vs private owner, I feel like we got the best of both worlds with Hudson's Autos. EXCELLENT customer service. Extremely happy with our vehicle and the buying process.
