Discovered this neat little place while dropping off packages in the Monticello shopping center. I was pleasantly surprised by how nice and inviting the restaurant was inside. The staff was extremely friendly and sat us down quickly. The menu was full of delicious Korean style chicken and standard items. My Tteokbokki was delicious and spicy. Also had a side of Kimchi that was tasty and spicy. I really enjoyed eating here. It is easy to get here and there is plenty of parking. Good for families and friends. A good overall value and v will definitely return to try another Korean meal.

My first time here- stumbled across the restaurant by accident. Somehow the universe makes sure that you are where you need to be. They seem to be out of a bunch of stuff, so I went with the Classic Crispy Chicken sandwich, and made it Deluxe (+$1.50) because I enjoy vegetables on my sandwich. Made a combo of it, because who doesn't like curly fries?!? Got an iced green tea, which was pretty good as green tea goes. The sandwich was excellent- everything I want in a fried chicken sandwich- crispy, hot, juicy, slightly spicy. The fries were tasty and fresh. Ingrid was very helpful to a poor old first-timer, and the total before tip came to $11.98, so it was cheaper than the other places nearby. I'm not even worrying about the calories because I walked here! TL;DR- hot, fresh, delicious lunch in 5 minutes for $12 plus tip. How can you go wrong? I will definitely be back.

Felt bad, but we made sure to put in our order, eat without making a mess, and leave. They have a sneeze guarded area where you can see all the options for the poke bowls, but you have to order everything at the kiosks. Make sure to scroll all the way down on your selections to see all the options/toppings. FOOD: ~Poke Bowls: I got the 2 protein option and my husband got the 3 protein option with rice. The salmon and tuna was solid (they were cubed), and the spicy tuna was the chopped and dressed type. The flavor and texture of the spicy tuna was good. ~Toppings: they have a bunch of different options for toppings where you can choose as many as you want, with only a few of them having a surcharge. ~~the ones we got were cucumber, edamame, green onion, ginger, crab salad (shredded kani), seaweed salad, garlic crisp, roasted seaweed, and fried onions. Everything was good ~Sauce (you can choose up to 2): got the standard sriracha mayo which was tasty ~Shrimp Shumai (3.5/5): standard - note they were deep fried ~Shrimp Tempura (4/5): solid - very crispy and good sized shrimp ~Thai Tea (3.8/5) with boba (2/5): thai tea had good flavor and just creamy enough. The boba was not good though. Overall, this place was good and better than I expected.

Thai Tara is our hands-down favorite restaurant. Not only in Williamsburg, where we recently moved,…read morebut nationwide. And that isn't mere hyperbole. Before we moved to Williamsburg, we visited the area for vacations, and Thai Tara is alway the first place we go for dinner and the final meal before leaving. Whether you crave the freshest Sushi/Sashimi or you prefer authentic Thai street food, you will find it here. We have traveled to Bangkok many times, and from first hand experience can say without exaggerating that the Chicken Sate or Fresh Rolls are as authentic as you might find at the street markets in BKK. The Tom Kha and Tom Yum soups are a treat. The extensive selection of warm Thai dishes like Pad Thai and Penang Curry are outstanding. We often include a hand roll or a selection of Sashimi from the Sushi bar in our orders. Never has the sushi bar prepared anything less than perfect. And if you want a real treat, finish your meal with a Mango Sticky Rice. Although small in size, it's surely is a dessert of the gods. An extensive bar is also on hand at Thai Tara for your favorite hand mixed cocktail, umbrella drink or beer, including Thailand's own Singha, a refreshing lager. Plan to arrive early because this cozy (but not small) place gets very busy, especially on weekends. Parking can be tight. But even in the busiest evenings, service is always prompt, attentive, and with a Thai smile.

I was provided with Sriracha, but if you slather it on, that's all you taste! Wife's bulgogi burrito was better, but all-in-all we weren't thrilled. When you factor in the difficulty of street parking downtown, and the price (2 lunch burritos with tip and tax were @ $45) I don't think we'd make a special effort to return.

The calamari were crispy and came out hot and throwing a little something different since this place is a fusion of Mexican/Chinese it came with gyoza dipping sauce. The menu is filled with options that combine two different styles but if you are not feeling adventitious you can get the standard. For the main course I went with the Szechuan Surf & Turf Burrito. Yooooooo.......... I was like who... no what ..... why .... How did someone come up with this. It is like when you visit somewhere and have good food but you know you are visiting and will not have it again until you return. Hopefully the place is still open. So much flavor packed up and rolled by some angel's hands back in that kitchen. No hunting for shrimp as with some places when they tell there is shrimp in the selection. I am so glad we decided to eat there because you can tell this is the type of meal where eating it hot is the only way to do it justice. This place is not the first to have a fusion of foods, but I can say it does a better job than most. Richmond has some great eating spots and is quietly a foodie spot to check out.

We were seated within 5 minutes after the table was cleaned off. We decided to get catfish with collards and mashed potatoes with gravy, and fried pork chop with Mac and cheese and potatoe salad. While waiting for our entrees, we received a biscuit with butter and strawberry jam on a small plate. It took about 20 minutes for our food to come out. We did get plastic cups to self serve our drinks. The catfish had a pretty brown coating but could use more seasoning. The collards tasted like it came out of the can of Glory greens. The mashed potatoes need salt and pepper and butter. The fried pork chops needed salt as well. The Mac and cheese looked like Velveeta and the potatoes in the potatoe salad was firm but had a decent taste. There wasn't a designated server for any of the tables. There were at least six other tables with two or more people at each table. It seems to be a little disorganized with serving people. We had to ask for a to go box to a woman who was walking around with her hands in her pocket. We just assumed she worked there as well. There was a jazz band scheduled to perform in the other area of the building at 6pm tonight. I'll stick to my chicken gizzards and fried chicken if I return again. The prices are reasonable for a soul food restaurant. The sweet tea and kool-aid was good as well. Everyone was nice and pleasant upon entering the restaurant.
