Rainy day deserves some hot pho! Pho 79 conveniently located in New Town with a spacious location. Customer service is a little slow and the portion size small for the price. A little disturbed that a customer thought I worked here because I was waiting for my check and writing this review lol However, the higher rent and labor cost probably contributes to the higher food cost. Broth has a rich flavor and soup dumping in my pho has a savory taste. Friendly service from the waiter that's worked here for over four years.

Not keeping regular business hours. Closed at 7:15 when hours posted 8pm.

Came at 7:15 on Saturday night and was kicked out because they were closed. They said that ran out of food.

This is my third time back (second was take-out) and still a very good meal! The chicken pho was delicious as usual, the spring rolls were very good, and my husband tried the three grilled meat skewers (pork, beef and chicken) and the meat was nice and tender! Nice service!

Was in the area and pressed for time, so pho is quick, right? First they were out of broth for my order, bun bo hue, so settled for basic pho tai. Wife had the wonton soup. Both were okay - took @ 10 minutes to serve, and flavor was flat and salty...hinted at base being used. Place was clean, but meal ...meh.

Salty Wonton Pho that I had to fix with Hossein sauce and Sriracha but still couldn't get over the brine. It overpowered my Pho. Hubby got the Pho Tai but it was salty as well so we suspect the broths got started with a base which is then heavily handed with more salt so impossible for anyone to appreciate the Pho flavor. So sad since we had been at this place over a year ago and it has changed for the worse.

Came here for lunch during our Historical Triangle trip. We were craving something warm and this was perfect. Wa surprised at how delicious the pho was. Broth was flavorful, generous amount of meat, reasonably priced for the area. Was so happy we came here!

Jasmine rice, veggies, and 3 skewers of grilled pork, chicken, and beef. Sooooo yummy!

This was our 1st time here. We wanted to try the grilled Vietnamese meats. It was really good! I liked that 3 different meats were offered. At first glance, the price seemed kind of high. However, when the food arrived, it was ample enough. Awesome 1st experience on this beautiful fall day!!

Amazing food and even better service!! My server was Kenzie and she was absolutely perfect! Attentive, but not overbearing; sweet and genuine. And the food was delicious. My good friend is Vietnamese and Pho 79's egg rolls taste just like hers! So, authentic I got the vermicelli bowl and the meat was so flavorful & juicy. Do yourself a favor and come eat here!! (I've also had the Bahn Mi sandwich. Very good)

    Vegetarian Pho - large

Came here while on vacation because of craving some Vietnamese food. First off, it was a bit difficult finding the location and the restaurant sign it diagonally and the door is at the corner of the street. Second, upon entering, we were greeted and told to pick our seats anywhere we'd like to sit. The waiter walked over to our table and provided us the menu. Few minutes later, we placed our orders. I have the vegetarian pho. I contemplated on order size small or large. My hubby convinced me to order the large and he can finish whatever I don't want to eat. My pho order came in reasonable amount of time. The first thing I noticed is all the veggies floating. There was definitely lots of broth in my bowl, however, once I begin stirring the noodles, I realized the bowl is just full of broth and very minimal of noodles. I was a bit disappointed. I've gone through many Vietnamese restaurants and have had a fair share of ordering pho. The amount of pho noodles here is similar to other small bowls at many places I've been to. The veggies were okay/decent amount. The broth is okay, not the very best I've had but not bad either. Overall, I'd like to give them more than 3 stars but just can't justify it with the mediocre food. Service is good though. Parking is off street and can be a bit challenging.

    Still has vines.

Came here for lunch. Service was meh. Courteous but not professional. Food was brought out fast. We ordered the #11 with chicken broth. The presentation was mediocre. Broth was ok. What killed this dish for us was the un-deveined shrimp. With that said I understand that it's not necessary to devein shrimp as long as it's cooked but no one wants to see that while you're eating. Least not me.

Good pho. Very good Bo Kho beef stew. Broth is rich. The summer rolls were also excellent.

The meal was that great. On that visit I got the "souper bowl" Bun/Vermicelli - Chicken, Beef, Pork and Egg Roll over noodls with all the veggies. SO good. So unique. It was a singular experience. I've also gotten the Egg Roll version of the dish (had like 2 egg rolls cut in half in it IIRC). I've had the Pho Soup a number of times in various combos and always good - better than Pho 79 IMHO, but you know, people like what they get used to so... The Bao Bun was great - something I'd not tried before but would definitely have again. I'm actually not a Bahn Mi fan but my son loved it. One day I just went crazy and had the wings instead of any Pho etc. and they were quite good - as good as any anywhere else so nothing wrong there. Staff is generally friendly, attentive, and food is presented well, tasty (some amazingly so) and the place is clean, nice, "sit down meal friendly", and seems well-managed and cared for. I have had a couple of visits where the staff were a bit less attentive, but it's not been bad or ignoring me or anything. As another poster said, this is a gem in Suffolk. Sure, someone might have a bad visit, or it might not be what they expected if they were used to something else, but the quality and care here is exceptional so I feel the widespread praise and accolades are justified.

The previous two times were perfect with apps and meals we've ordered. Even a co-worker of mine has been here and became a fan. Would the third time be icing on the cake for us? For this visit, we actually saw more people dining in with some ordering takeout. Not a bad deal on a nice Saturday afternoon. Staff was pretty busy around the restaurant keeping everyone happy. We were seated very quickly and ordered after a few minutes. For my meal, I ordered Cơm Thịt Gà Nướng (grilled lemongrass chicken) and a beverage of fresh squeezed sugar cane. The drink itself was really good. It wasn't too sweet and is actually good for you. Sophia drunk some and said the next time we come by, she'll order it. Great stuff indeed. The meal was very good as well. The chicken was cooked to perfection and there was plenty of veggies to go around. We got full halfway that we took it home where both still tasted great. Thanks again to Souper Pho and Banh Mi for this joyous occasion. We'll continue to be patrons the next time we're in the area :)

You choose your own seating but it seems like the whole staff is there to wait on you. Everyone made sure we had all that we needed and enjoyed our food. We started off with the egg rolls and spring rolls, both were flavorful, light and delicious. For entrees I had the pho number 6 with brisket, rare beef and tendon (could've done without the tendon but I wanted to try something new). I asked for them to substitute the regular pho broth for the Bun Bo Hue broth. It was lighter than I expected but the flavor was still very good. My wife had the lemongrass chicken vermicelli bowl but she substituted the noodles for rice; she liked that the vermicelli bowl had more vegetables than the rice bowls. This was also phenomenal. Great char on the chicken and huge portions. Spent a total of $57 before tip, that did include one fountain drink and a Thai tea. We will be back for sure!
