Very clean, spacious pho restaurant in a cute little suburban area. There was street parking available on a Monday around lunchtime and there was not a lot of people roaming around which made the area seem very peaceful. There is a kungfu tea conveniently located across the street as well. The menu has a lot of different types of vietnamese soup selections which was a plus. I stuck with pho and got the #5 - the broth was a little darker than what I am use to. They were very generous with the meat portions, however, my broth was not hot enough to cook the eye round steak so it was still pink, which is fine to eat since its beef, but I like my broth hot! Also - for those with infants or little kids, the womens bathroom has a large and super clean diaper changing station! This was perfect since I was traveling with my baby and needed an area to change her. On other note - they seemed short staffed so service was a bit slow but we were not in a rush so this didn't bother us. I hope they are able to hire more people and wish them all the best! read more

This place was always one of our favorites during our yearly Christmas visit to Williamsburg however our experience unfortunately changed this year. They no longer serve alcohol, the service was slow and the quality of the pho not the same, the broth was not flavorful. Very sad to see such a great place change. read more

Pho is very meh. The broth does not taste that fresh and is too salty. And pho being too salty says a lot

Very disappointed with this spot. I placed a to-go order with an inattentive waitress. My order took about 30 min to be ready. The restaurant was clean and not many customers when I ordered, so not sure why it took so long to get my order. The waitress handed me an incomplete order missing my soup and tea. I alerted her to the error and she gave me soup and tea. When I arrived home, my order was completely incorrect. I wish I would have checked it before leaving. I ordered an H1 soup which has pork and shrimp, but instead received an H3 which is all fish. Instead of Jasmine Tea I received regular tea. I tried calling the restaurant for over an hour with no one answering the phone. Truly disappointed. You guys have to do better than this. read more

God, there are so many great things about Pho 79. As a vegetarian, it's hard to find a veggie broth, which is understandable because it is a primarily a meat noodle dis. However, Pho 79 offers an amazing vegetarian option with large fried tofu, bok choy, mushrooms, and carrots. Most importantly, the broth is also veggie! Other places still use a chicken broth even in the "Vegetarian Pho", and some vegetarians order without realizing. Also, THEIR SOUP IS SO AMAZING. It's light and refreshing, unlike other heavy, oily soups. They also offer the standard bean sprouts, basil, and jalapenos to the broth. A wide array of sauces are available to add: normal hoisin sauce, Sriracha, a spicy garlic paste, and another for the egg rolls. The restaurant is so clean, and the ambiance is great for a first date. You can sit anywhere, and the servers will come up to you immediately with a menu ready. They came so many times to refill our water and made sure our food is satisfactory. Also, the store has a punch system, so definitely go multiple times for that free meal! You can also grab some bubble tea to go! Pro-tip: Their portions are HUGE even for the smalls. My picture was taken about the time I usually get full, so don't go for large. Pho leftovers aren't that great, and you save a few bucks! read more

Pho 79 Williamsburg - Vegetable Pho - Vietnamese Near Me - Williamsburg, Virginia

Visiting this place from out of town. We know our Vietnamese food. This place is legit! Services great and the food is great! Really impressed with our server Kenzie she handled the whole restaurant without breaking a sweat we never wanted for anything. read more

The service is fast and the food is excellent. Love this place! The Pho nam is perfect. the meat is tender and the broth is tasty. The crispy egg rolls are also nice. read more

The food and service was good. My wife had a vegetarian Pho that looked delicious in a beef broth. I had a grilled pork rice dish. It was good but the portions were small. It's little pricey with our dishes around $17. Recommend you try it. read more

Fantastic! We are phinicky pho phanatics. We had #2 beef and meatball pho with some extra chili paste on the side. So delicious and warming after sightseeing on a cool Williamsburg evening. Cameron and John provided top-notch service. read more

Have a Pho 79 back home in Hampton, and while out of town today we stopped in here (craving Pho). For reference, it is a Friday at 3:00pm. When we walked in, there was one server eating at the bar and the other was walking out of the kitchen. They both told us we could sit wherever we wanted. BUT the second we were looking around to find a seat EVERY TABLE MINUS 3 had food from previous patrons on the table. This place was a mess! I am not over exaggerating! No one was out cleaning or anything. There were only two other tables with people sitting at them. We sat at one of the available clean tables, looked at each other, and left. Won't be back to this location ever. read more

So dissatisfied and disappointed. I was there first customer on Sunday. I found the bathroom dirty as well as several tables and the floors too. I had to choose a different table than the first one that I had decided to sit at because not only was the table dirty but the floor was full of food and napkins. When my food came I notice that the bottle of hot sauce was all dirty with dry sauce around the spout. The food has never been the best but good enough. It is time to find another place to have pho. read more

After checking out of my wonderful family weekend vacation, my me and my family were craving some pho. We stumbled upon pho 79 due to its great reviews. But this was my worst dining experience, The meat was sour, the broth had an overwhelming amount of salt, the waiter forgot our order, it took forever to get our waters and food out, the soup was overall disgusting. It was probably the worst pho we have ever had. Never coming back again. read more

This place is so disappointing. Not only the takeout food is more expensive than dine-in. The take out package does not even fit all food! the place forced you to buy a large pho bowl but not enough soup to fit all ingredients. Avoid this place at all cost... read more

It's a great place for Pho and Vietnamese menu friendly too You may have to get used to using chop sticks as a challenge like me I did it But utensils are available I think I've forgotten It's so yummy wish I were going tonight again read more

"It's Pho-King Good!" Seriously, that's what it said on the chalkboard. Poor taste (an obvious riff on the F-word), and definitely not a family-friendly message. Maybe younger people appreciate crudeness, I can't say. I thought it was a rotten way to welcome people. Otherwise, the servers were VERY friendly, and the food was fantastic. We enjoyed really, REALLY tasty and fresh food. I'd give this place 5 stars, if not for the first impression. read more

Love the pho here! It's authentic meaning the noodles are rice noodles and not frozen and the white onions were sweet. The little platter with the pho was small which is a nice preference and helps alleviate waste so I really appreciated that. The serve was really sweet to us and made really great boba drinks! Highly recommend in the area! read more

Love this place--has really good pho and viet dishes for good prices. The Vietnamese iced coffee is also a must when going here. Definitely recommend. read more

I have ate at this location many times, and it is always excellent. I ate there today but I was not satisfied. The Pho smelled off/different ( maybe due to the poor looking round steak in my pho) and was not nearly as tasty as it has been in the last three years. I also got a Boba tea and it was very chunky with large chunks of ice. Normally, the quality is very good. I don't know if this location has changed management or if the people working there aren't as attentive ( this does not apply to my waiter who was very attentive ) as they used to be but I was definitely let down. Hopefully it was a fluke. read more

I absolutely love this place. We moved to Las Vegas in January 2018- visiting today and this was first on our list of places to visit. Awesome Staff- best freaking pho I've ever had. Once we ordered 20 egg rolls, we love them so much! On a cold day in January look no further than this place read more

The original Pho79 is around the corner from my parents in VB and I had been there once or twice to get a banh mi. In town for work and I needed a plant based meal so I hit up Pho79 for their vegetarian pho, which is so hard to come by. The restaurant was quiet and clean. They had some killer beer prices ($3.75 and $3.85 for craft beers and imported Asian beers). The pho was like vegetable soup -can't replicate that delicious pho broth without those animal bones and marrow!- but it was really tasty. The only complain was that the small was actually really small, so I'd size up! read more

We live in town and come pretty often on weekends. There's a lot of food for the money. It's open all day on Sat. So a late lunch after working at our small business earlier in the day is great. Taste's great! Plenty of parking around the corner. Linda with Innovative Pain Release read more

I am a Pho connoisseur. I eat pho at least three times a week. I travel around the tidewater area and eat Pho in my travels at many different restaurants. This restaurant is one of the best in the area. The pho is outstanding, and taste is very traditional. I ordered a small and it was enough for a very satisfying lunch. The staff was very prompt and attentive. I'll definitely be back. I recommend giving it a try if you like authentic Vietnamese food. read more

Great pho in Williamsburg! The order is same every time and it never disappoints. Since the pandemic, we solely order takeout and it's ready within 10-15 mins with no problems. And still piping hot broth once brought home. Staff is always pleasant. read more

This wasn't the worst meal that I have ever had, but when you are in the company of "rat meatballs in Siberia", your food is pretty terrible. If anyone is thinking of ordering food from here, I would recommend sticking with Ramen noodles: they come with packets of flavoring, so you won't be left in the situation in which we found ourselves: stuck with flavorless and nondescript noodles. The egg rolls were not terrible, but really, you could deep-fry a sock and it would be more edible than most of the food from Pho 79. read more

Service sucked bad! We were one of two tables and it still sucked! Kids working were on their phones instead of working! I will never go back! read more

Food hasn't changed since opening. But the service has gotten extremely slow. For a pho place, food does take a bit longer than most pho spots. Great loacation with bad parking and average pho. Nothing bad to report. read more

I always like to list the positive first so I have to say the place is impeccably clean and the inside has tons of character. I stopped by on my way back home and had another hour until home so happened upon this place as I was hoping for a meal that wouldn't take too long. Well...I was wrong. I will say the waitress was kind, quickly took my order and preceded to serve my appetizer quickly so I was hopeful I would get my Pho just as quickly. Nope!! I waited for about 30 minutes (which I have never waited that long for Pho) and decided to settle my bill so I could get on the road before dark. It did appear there were only 2 employees there so I suspect that affects things. There were also only 4 customers in the restaurant when I was there but they do appear to do a steady To Go order business so that may be where their staffing needs to focus. I know everyone is staff challenged these days so I think they might want to consider doing To Go orders only until more staff can help in the restaurant. But just my opinion. read more

got a pho number 4, pretty good we also got the fried wontons app. which I thought were better than the pho and it comes with a 'sweet soy sauce' to dip, yum! service was great too!! read more

Oh, yes. I'll be back. I've been trying to get to Phō 79 for several months; finally got to do it yesterday. I sat at the bar and ordered... A1. Vietnamese Spring Rolls (2 Fresh rice paper wrapped around pork, lettuce, cucumber, cilantro and vermicelli with peanut dipping sauce) x2 $8.54 4. Phō Tai Nam (Noodle soup with round steak and brisket) $10.49 C1. Com Bi Suron Cha (Marinated grilled pork chop served with a pork casserole and thinly shredded pork over rice) $11.99 Boba Tea, taro $4.75 A minute later I was told they were out of pork chops, so no Com Bi Suron Cha. Bummer. I'll take what I can get. I drank iced water at the bar. Surprisingly fast, my order is up in about 10 minutes & I was on my way home. Boba Tea on the ride home. Typical Boba Tea, which is to say very good. Rather than a plastic cup with a dome lid, this was served in a plastic cup with a very tight plastic seal across the top. It was a bit difficult opening it just enough to put the oversized straw in. After that, it was very good. At home I go for the Spring Rolls first. Oops. They're fresh, not fried. I didn't read well. But the 4 fresh Spring Rolls were very, very good. I ate 1 last night and 3 this morning. Next, Phō. Wonderful, wonderful Phō. Over a span of about 3 hours, I ate every last bit. I can't wait to do it again. I'll be back soon for more Phō, crispy Spring Rolls, and hopefully the Com Bi Suron Cha. The store was quite clean, as was the ladies' room. I interacted with one young woman who was very pleasant. read more

I order chicken noodle soup and bo ba tea from this restaurant my daughter loved the Boba tea however the chicken noodle soup was horrible. The chicken was rotten and smelling bad. I came back the next day and told the people at the register. They finished my complaint like this happens often, and said they will tell the chef. That's it... I just shook my head and walked away. read more

In LOVE with this place!!! I've always loved Ramen/ Hot Pot places but I had never had Vietnamese before so that scared me off for a bit but I'm so glad I came. I got the chicken pho with extra cilantro and it seriously was one of the best meals I've ever had. (And the next 4 meals probably from all of the extras haha) service was quick and super nice and you can't beat the beer prices (especially in New Town!). We also got the coffee and wontons and it seriously all was ridiculously amazing. I'll prob be back tomorrow lol the chef, Anthony, came out to meet us and he was incredibly nice and clearly very passionate about his cooking. read more

Pho 79 Williamsburg - Vietnamese Near Me - Williamsburg, Virginia

This super casual, unobtrusive spot is tucked away in a strip mall, so don't pass it by accident. We went on a cold rainy September night and the heat/ spice really hit the spot. We had an order of Tai and one of Taiwan's Chin. We ate both to the bottom of the bowl even though the portions were really big. The sliced beef was particularly flavorful, while the brisket was flavorful, but too fatty for our liking. On the table, were several choices of hot sauces... it's always nice to control your own heat. The waiter, who also appeared to be the owner, was very attentive and helped point us in the right direction. For the price, you can't do any better! If we are ever back in the area... we will definitely eat here again. DoingWhatWeLove.com read more

Discovered by accident. Delicious food. The fresh garden rolls (they are called spring rolls on the menu) looked underwhelming but were quite tasty. I've ate at quite a few pho restaurants, moved down here from northern VA. The biggest issue i had with pho 79 was the quality of the actual broth and noodles. This place only has the rating it has because it's the only pho restaurant around. It was terrible but was not good. The service wasn't great either, they only had 1 server working and it took around 15-20 minutes from the point you sat down until you had pho in front of you. Also there is zero music in the place read more

I was very excited to see a second Vietnamese restaurant opening in Williamsburg, only to face disappointment when I actually tasted the food. Their dishes had good presentation at least, matching the theme of the interior decorations: hipster and prioritizing style. This was some of the least authentic Vietnamese I have ever experienced. I ordered pho because as a place proclaiming itself as a "pho restaurant", that should be the best meal. Instead, I encountered a very mediocre dish. The meat was the best aspect, although that is not a glowing endorsement. While I initially thought the broth delicious, it became significantly less good the more it cooled to the point where I couldn't even finish the bowl. Pro-tip: If you don't want to drink the soup down to the last drop, the pho broth is no good. My friend ordered bún tht nng (vermicelli with grilled meats), which smelled absolutely divine when it came out and yet somehow managed to taste much blander than the smells. At least the vegetables were good. However, portion sizes were not ideal, especially when considering the price and the fact that there is a much more authentic Vietnamese restaurant in Williamsburg for cheaper prices yet larger portions. If you're not concerned about authenticity and happen to be in New Town, there's really nothing wrong with it; just be aware that there is another option. read more

I visit this place whenever I don't what I am going to eat in town. The atmosphere and the decoration is pleasing. However, the food quality varies between visits. Sometimes the noodles sticks together, and the soup is not hot enough. There were a couple of times that server had the wrong dish served. Also, I hope they will have fried rice soon, just as the other Pho place in town. I will recommend the sugar cane shrimp appetizer just because that something I will definitely order every time. read more
