    Vermicelli with pork
    Trish T.

My husband & I just had a tasty take-out lunch from Pho Diner. We had shrimp summer rolls - 2 tightly rolled rice paper rolls filled each filled with 2 large shrimp, noodles & herbs. The dipping sauce leaned in on the hoisin/plum side - rather than our preferred peanut sauce - but it was still quite good. I ordered chicken pho which was fresh, lots of noodles, chicken, and bean stouts. I wish there was more fresh herbs, but it was good. The beef pho are certainly more flavorful, but I don't really eat red meat anymore. My husband liked his dish - grilled pork vermicelli. The sweet and sour sauce was tasty, and it was a pretty large portion. Service was friendly and prompt. The order was ready in 10 minutes. And though we didn't dine in, my husband said the ambiance was ok - not really date night material, but the colorful decorations were festive in a very casual setting. We'll definitely be back when we return to the area to visit family. It's exciting to have good Vietnamese in Yorktown!

The food here is clearly the best Vietnamese food in the entire Hampton Roads area. It's wonderfully presented and the flavors are authentic. Not only did I order the shrimp, chicken and beef for lunch but I ordered every Bahn Mi on the menu to go! Fantastic family environment, wonderfully attentive staff and it's obvious they care about their customers.

Vietnamese coffee on ice is like liquid heaven... I ventured out and away from the overpopulated city today. Ok, maybe I'm exaggerating just a tad but that's fine. The point is, I drove out to try something new. And since everything is opening back up, everywhere is crowded. And why not? It's a beautiful day since it stopped raining. Thankfully this little restaurant is nice and open. Of course I also eat at weird hours, so maybe that's why there aren't many customers here. It's a very clean, spacious restaurant with good service. Of course I had iced Vietnamese coffee with some spring rolls.

The aromatics are the first thing that you get walking through the door. Second thing is a friendly face to invite you to sit anywhere. The food needs no words but I will share a few. Fresh isn't something you usually associate with pho or really any strip mall restaurant; but this is FRESH. You can taste the quality ingredients and time spent finding the perfect blend of spice and herb. These broths are so full of flavor you don't need sauce! Not pictured is the bahn mi we destroyed, but that speaks for itself.

Reasonable prices for delicious Vietnamese food. The pork Bahn Mi was juicy and well marinated with fresh tasting pickled veggies and soft bread. The ambiance is spacious, modern, but cool with many lanterns hanging from the ceiling (my photo does not do it justice). A hidden gem as it is larger than it looks from the outside. There is also bar seating, outdoor seating, and a sushi bar! Our food came out quickly, our server could have used a note pad.

Change my rating to a one-star. For lunch today I found hair in the wings. Absolutely unacceptable

There aren't many good pho places on the peninsula except for Pho 83. Since they're now closed on Mondays and as I had been wanting to try this new place out I headed here. Good choice! As you enter you are greeted by the host/waiter Jeff. He is also the owner and very good at what he does as well as being great to talk to. I ordered the Pho Tai and added tripe, along with some vietnamese egg rolls. The egg rolls were the best ever and so was the dipping sauce that they came with and although the pho broth didn't have a depth of flavor the delicious meat and bean sprouts made up for it. Also the place was very clean and the fresh roses on the tables were a nice touch. Worth the trip and can't wait to try the wonton noodle soup. I'd drive miles for good wonton noodle soup!

Very good pho! I was impressed. A little pricey but overall good. Next time I would not get it with the fried tofu (not a fan of that)

The bread to filling ratio is severely off, but the flavor of the meat is good. If they had packed these sandwiches with more meat, I would have been happy with it. I'm also used to my Vietnamese sandwiches having pate, but this one didn't. I also didn't have the option to add hot peppers (which is what I think makes a sub most delicious). The bread wasn't crispy on the outside like what you'd expect, which I don't mind because I prefer my viet subs chewy and not cutting the roof of my mouth. Overall, the meat has good flavor, but there just needs to be more to it. It will scratch the itch in a bind.

Beat spring rolls around. The Pho is well made and the service is good. Wish they would add sushi like they originally planned.

Ive never had a good ramen egg either, sometimes they're just too egg-y or mucus like for lack of a better descriptor, I actually ate this ramen egg. I ordered the Kake Udon for me and two orders of steamed gyoza for my kiddo. I gotta say, I was surprised when the order arrived. The udon noodles were paper thin compared to what I'm used to. The fried tofu was so hard it was basically inedible, and the broth - well, it had little to no flavor. To top it off, my kiddo took a bite of one dumpling and then spit it out. This child DESTROYS dumplings, so I asked him what happened -- he said "who puts corn and carrots in a gyoza dumpling?!?" and I can't say I disagree with him. Pork and cabbage filling - duh! Overall, totally not our jam and we probably won't revisit it. I guess the reviews are based more on folks who haven't experienced true Japanese cooking? I don't know, but I'm pretty sure my Japanese host mother would have given it no stars.

The place wasn't busy yet. They have table and chairs and booths. The decor was typical of that of an Asian restaurant. The area and bathrooms were clean. It is a bit smaller than most hot pot places. The menu was extensive. I was impressed with so many options. We did not know that the table grills were not open yet or we would have modified our ordering with less food. The broth was very flavorful. The cold bar had many different sauces and some fruit. You have to get your own utensils which is fine, but it can get crowded with more than one person up at the bar. It is all you can eat so we wanted to try a little bit of everything. This proved to be a mistake because the portions were so big. We felt bad for ordering so much but 1 portion was the size of a dinner size. The sirloin and potatoes were my favorite. My boyfriend loved all of the seafood. I got the crab legs. Do NOT recommend. You could tell they were previously frozen and the meat was very sticky and stringy. We did end up paying to take home some meat we didn't cook. It was definitely worth the price, we pan fried it at home and it was delicious. We would definitely go back. Both of us would order less and maybe try the hibachi and hopefully the table grill will be open. I believe he said the end of November. Lesson learned, always ask about portion sizes! Overall, you most certainly get what you pay for, plus more.
