The gravy wasn't what I was expecting- like thin and watery, which is just a personal preference but it tasted vinegary? . My burger taste wise was good and filling. Cheese was melted and yummy, I did not like the bun, again personal preference and all that. Had the Brussels sprouts for app, partner didn't like it, I believe it was the sauce again vinegary but I didn't mind them. It was a nice surprise. Partner also had chili hot dog which looked amazing ; also just tasted alright. Overall nothing to rave about.

Not a very flashy building during the day and was hard to see building while driving up street. Pleanty of parking in a gravel/sandy lot with some pot holes filled with rain water. There is handicap parking with a ramp next to front door. Was greeted and seated immediately by Raven which took our drink order of a water and a sweet tea. There is a full bar with some tap beers. Raven gave us several minutes to look over menu before returning and answering a few questions. I was interested in wings which Raven pointed out were on special this Wednesday at $1 each, minimum of 10. Cheaper than the plate of 8 I was going to order. I went for this with a side of onion rings. My wife ordered the Freedom Philly with cole slaw. The food came out in good time served in red plastic baskets lined with paper. My wife enjoyed her philly and the slaw which is mayonaise based and seasoned well to our liking. The smoked wings came out hot and seasoned with medium wing sauce as requested. The chicken wings are some of the larger ones I have ever been served. My onion rings came out hot, lightly battered and tasting good. At 1:30 in middle of week there were only a few other tables occupied. Raven was the only server and was maintaining service well. She came back and checked on us several times. If we are in area again this could be a stop.

For entrees, we had the bone-in pork and the cavatelli, and both were excellent. The pork was probably one of the top five I've ever had -- cooked perfectly, with a great sauce on top and really good grits. My wife had a gin, egg white, raspberry, and prosecco drink. It tasted mostly like prosecco, so we weren't quite as impressed with the cocktail as we thought we'd be. One little tiff: there was no one sitting on the outside patio, so we asked if we could have the shaded table. They said no because of the staffing setup. About halfway through our meal, one couple came and sat at the larger table we weren't allowed to use, then decided they didn't want to sit there and went inside. Not really sure what the big deal was with that table versus the one next to it where we were seated on an otherwise empty patio. But all in all, it was a great meal and we would definitely go again!

I came to Williamsburg looking for a GOOD steak... and somehow ended up at a smokehouse--and I'm…read moreactually glad I did! Rocco's Smokehouse kept popping up when we searched for places to eat, so we decided to give it a shot. We weren't really in the mood for barbecue, and they only had ONE steak option, but the menu looked so interesting that we figured, why not? There was about a 15-20 minute wait, which immediately had me thinking, "Okayyy, maybe we made the right choice!" The atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and had a great vibe. IMPORTANT: Navigation took us to the wrong location, so pay close attention to the Yelp directions. Rocco's is currently operating from a temporary location. Once we were seated, our waiter was right over to take our drink order. First things first--the sweet tea is MAGNIFICENT! And let me tell you what you NEED to order: Smoked barbecue wings -- MUST ORDER -- absolutely get it! Rocco actually brought it to our table and warned us that we would be hooked and he was right! I originally wanted the lump crab cakes, but I didn't see anyone else ordering them, so I took my waiter's recommendation and went with the brisket quesadillas. GREAT decision! They were juicy, flavorful, and downright scrumptious. My partner ordered Platter #3, which came with ribs, a quarter chicken, and pork barbecue. The chicken was his favorite--he could not stop talking about it! You could really taste that smoky flavor in the meat. The macaroni and cheese was pretty good too. Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised by Rocco's. We went in craving steak and left talking about smoked wings, chicken, brisket, and barbecue! Would I go back? Absolutely! And next time, those crab cakes are getting ordered! #WilliamsburgVA #WilliamsburgEats #VirginiaFoodie #RoccosSmokehouse #Foodie #YelpEats #BBQ #FoodReview #VirginiaRestaurants

First impression NOISY. This place is loud. High ceilings and open dining area makes the voices reverberate throughout the woke restaurant. As we were passing by the Big Yellow…read moreWinged Buffalo, the two 15-year-old boys immediately spotted it and said, "That's what we want to eat!" So, of course, we listened to the teenagers! That was our first mistake! We walked in and were seated shortly after 7 PM. Our waitress greeted us, took our drink order, and returned with my soda. The kids' lemonades were still being made, and my fiancé's beer hadn't even been poured by the bartender yet. It ended up taking 8 minutes after receiving my drink for the waitress to bring the rest of our drinks. Normally, I wouldn't make a big deal about that, but there were maybe 25-30 people in the entire restaurant. Looking back, that probably should have been another sign to leave. But after two kids and two adults had been in the car for three hours, we were hungry and ready to eat. Once we finally received our drinks, we placed our orders. While we were waiting, the gentleman at the table beside us asked to speak with the manager. His wife turned around and explained to us that they had ordered their food, but the two kids' meals still hadn't come out while the adults were almost finished eating. You could see that both parents were upset and frustrated, and the little ones were clearly just ready to have their food. The wife knew the husband was going to be angry so she prepared us for it and stayed she hoped our experience would be better! When the manager came over, shs explained that the kids' food "didn't look presentable to send out," that they were short-staffed, and that it would be ready soon. Oh my, Kids food didn't look presentable enough? It's BDubs not anything fancy! The manger definitely was in the wrong, if there isn't enough kitchen staff trained to prepare food than they shouldn't be opened for business! At that point, I remember thinking, Oh golly... this isn't going to turn out well. And unfortunately, I was right. When our food finally arrived, the wings were extremely overcooked and absolutely drenched in sauce. My 15-year-old son, who loves our hometown Bdubs, could only choke down 3 of them. I tasted one myself, and honestly, I can't even describe how much teriyaki sauce was smothered on it. I ordered the patty melt. It was overcooked & super dry amd definitely not worth the price. The fries were loaded with salt, and the other two meals in our party were, at best, just okay. By the time we finally left, we had been there for over two hours. For what we paid and the overall experience, it simply wasn't worth it. Even the restroom could use a good cleaning. I always try to give restaurants the benefit of the doubt because everyone can have an off night, and I understand that staffing issues happen. But with the lack of people in the restaurant, the long wait for drinks, the issues we witnessed at the table beside us, the quality of our food, and the amount of time we spent there, this was unfortunately not a good experience. I definitely would not recommend this particular location. Two teenage boys picked it because it looked like a great place to eat, and unfortunately, it ended up being one of those vacation meals we'll remember for all the wrong reasons!!!

After she…read morecame home from a hair appointment, we traveled here to an area of Williamsburg that we've never been to before. For the most part, it's street parking where we found a very good spot and restaurants and stores galore. Let's see how this spot turned out for us. Inside, the decor is very nice. They have a few tables inside and plenty in the outside patio. It's basically a spot that's takeout but if want to dine-in, that's totally fine. And they serve Kung Fu Tea, one of our favorite guilty pleasures that unfortunately closed near us months ago. After a few minutes, we ordered at the counter. Along with a large Strawberry Milk slush, I selected a 5 piece tender combo with a side of crinkle fries. First off, the slush was pretty good. At 50% sugar with boba pearls, it hit the sweet spot very well. It felt like old times when we used to order KFT often. But, the chicken combo itself was underwhelmimg. The food came out hot and ready, but the tenders were tough to break apart either by biting into it or with your hands if you dipped in any of their sauces. Sophia ordered a chicken sandwich and wasn't impressed, saying eating a Chick-Fil-A sandwich is better. That says a lot. I did take some home to eat for leftovers, but like earlier, could've been better. Not to put any bad press on the business, but it was disappointing. Again, it's basically a takeout spot and one for KFT admirers like us. We will come back only for that reason the next time we're around.
