When I read some of the reviews on here, I couldn't believe they were talking about the same place I enjoy. I've been there for lunch three times since discovering it thanks to a friend a few months ago. It has a nothing fancy interior, but the food! I enjoy the fried shrimp plate. Perfection! I'm a creature of habit so I'm going to keep going just for that even though they have a lot more on the menu. As for rudeness, I haven't witnessed any of that toward me or any other customer either time I was there. Matter of fact, the last time I went there, I spilled some soda on the floor right after the worker had cleaned the area and didn't get yelled at or even an eye roll. Maybe I've just been lucky. But to me, the vibe is a lot more chill than what's described in the other comments. read more

The person who answer (foreign speaking person) was terse and unprofessional like I was suppose to know what to order without a menu. He soon hung up. My sister and I came to this restaurant because I had the taste for some fish. When we got here I was pleasantly surprised by all the menu options. I got the whiting and wings plater with side salad and okra. I must admit the wings were pretty good. The whiting was decent. My sister got the catfish and it was good. The atmosphere was that of country old south diner. Nothing fancy at all. I read the other reviews about experiencing racism at this place. I must admit the young lady was very nice and pleasant. She was patient as well and took the time to explain the platters and made recommendations. I believe the food matters and it's because of this is why I give 2 stars. I been in a few times and this last time right after Christmas 2025 I go in to get a burger and the bun is very dry, so dry that it's falling apart off the burger itself. I do appreciate their burgers but hate to have a bun that days old maybe even a week. I think maybe a fresh food order is in place to make sure this is not happening. When I do like my burger seasoned, how they season it is a bit much, seems like that's all you can taste. I was denied service. I am a disabled veteran with a service dog. As soon as I entered the restaurant, the owner began hollering at me from the kitchen that I was not allowed in because I had a dog. When I tried to show him the documentation, he refused to look at it and said he was no longer taking any more orders today. It was 4 in the afternoon. He also stated that my yellow lab with a service vest on did not look like a service dog. I would not recommend to eat here because the owner does not support veterans or any one else who requires assistance. The owner of this wonderful place is very devoted and dedicated to making sure everyone is happy with their food selections. He is also a very hard worker. I don't know why I keep giving these little hole in the wall places a chance, it's almost always a letdown. This place is no exception. First the price is they have on the front of the building are only valid until 4:00 p.m. not a huge deal but still annoying. Second their bathroom is 100 degrees and it had looked like somebody threw up in it and didn't flush. Oh and the hot water didn't work at all, which seems like a health code violation? The ice machine smelled terribly of mold. And the place is just odd, there is this huge room that's probably as big if not bigger than the actual dining room, that's just completely empty. In the market for some old fashion southern cooking? You know that "hole" in the wall joint that serves fried whatever - hot and ready? Welp, if you stumble upon this find - that's what you in for! This restaurant was recommended to me by a local. When I heard they had the best Fried Catfish around, well I had to go and see what all the fuss was about. I did a quick google search - their website provides a PDF menu for you to download and order from. I did a call in order for: - Kid's Catfish Meal with Fries and Drink - Daily Special: Homemade Cheeseburger with Fries and Drink - Side Order of: Eggs Rolls - Side Order of: Okra Note, ask for condiments! If not, you will get nothing. So, keep that in mind (if you need tarter sauce or ketchup). After making my order, it took me about 10 mins to get to the location for pick up. There is a sign on the door that only 6 people can be in the building at a time. To my surprise, there was only a cashier and the cook (that I would later learn is also the owner). The customers had on masks, they offered liquid hand sanitation for guest. But the cashier nor the cook had on a mask. I leave that to be a pro or con for you. Everyone was pleasant. Note, if you pay with a card there is a service charge they don't tell you about. It's small, but still it's one of those things that should be announced before swiping someone's card. The overall building looked like any older diner. Nothing special, it appeared clean and smelled of cooked food. Now for the food review - this was the best Catfish I have had in YEARS. The Catfish was fresh, meaty, and fried perfectly. The seasoning was on point and didn't need anything additional. Tartar sauce is an added bonus or hot sauce - as the fish can stand on its own! The fried okra, MAN extra crunch, again fresh and seasoned perfectly. Normally, I like to have ketchup with mine - nope not with these. The egg rolls, were good. They aren't something I would write home about - but for something different on a fish and chicken menu - they were good. The Cheeseburger - look if you want homemade and tasty - welp here you are! The meat was tender and seasoning great. The burger was about the size of my hand, so yeah you will be full with just the single patty. The automatic toppings are cheese, mayo, tomatoes, and lettuce. I have to agree with the previous Yelp review that this is the restaurant that looks like a run down country restaurant but the food is amazing. I've lived in this area for going on 6 years now and have always passed it up thinking it wouldn't be that good. Tonight my son wanted fried catfish and there isn't really anywhere around this area that I knew of that had good seafood. But he said what about that place we drive by on the way to school? I said that restaurant by the car wash that looks run down? He said yeah! So I pulled out my Yelp and was pleasantly surprised to see 3.5/4 stars so I said let's try it! We ordered 2 small catfish plates and a small flounder plate, with fried okra and a side of potato salad. I also ordered peach & apple cobbler with cheesecake but I didn't get it :( so I can't provide any feedback on the desserts. First - the portions are VERY generous. They don't serve just a piece of fish, I think we had 5-6 pieces each on our plates! The breading was AMAZING! The French fries were crispy and had a delicious seasoning on them. And just like many others mentioned the hush puppies were great too! I also want to mention that there were 7 other patrons there while I was waiting. I was the only white person besides the cook and cashier. The ONLY reason I wanted to mention this was because of the negative comments on a few other posts I read that accused them of being racist. I can only leave a review based on my experience and observations but I did not see any such behavior other than thanking them for coming by tonight and wishing them a good evening. While I was waiting for my food, I also observed 2 other black families come in and order and did not notice any difference from my own experience of ordering. The inside is exactly what I expected from a small town establishment. It's clean but older. I'll definitely be back and wish I would have tried it sooner! So we thought they did something wrong. When I got out and opened the door he told me to GET OUT as well. So as I walked out a Caucasian lady walked it and he served her. I was flabbergasted...so we left and went up the street and when we turned around the cop was at the same restaurant in the parking lot so we turned in. So, I was totally not expecting the response that I received from the owner‍‍ I ordered a fish sandwich that was not cooked all the way and I was nausated soon as I bit into the sandwich. I called the restaurant to explain my concern. I was not rude or disrespectful.. First of all, I was hungry as hell and craving his fish sandwich. I was met with rudeness and disrespect over the phone. I was told to come to the restaurant to get another sandwich (while he is still being rude), then he hung up on me So now I am looking at the phone, like did he just hang up on me. I like fish but enjoyed it 3 times while away so settled on a philly cheese steak, which I seldom order. I requested no green peppers, which they accommodated with no issues.
