I usually buy items online from TJ Maxx and any returns I take them to the store. Customer service takes forever with returns. I return few items and it took over 20 mins to return them. It is ridiculous they scan the item then take to to the back they scan the item take it to the back. It shouldn't take that long for returns. read more

This store is farily new so they have a lot of nice stuff! I hope they keep bringing all the good mechandise here bcz this is really all there is for shopping in this area! The store is clean and the staff is very nice. I come here at least once a week to see whats new. read more

If you want to wait forever and then get randomly charged an amount because the cashier didn't know how to find the tag then she just chooses another shirt with the "same brand" and charges you that ughhh... the fitting room lady was really nice though read more

My sister and I were so excited to finally get a tj maxx near us! We've gone quite a few times since we went to the Grand opening. Overall the store is very clean and organized and the staff are really friendly. The only thing is that the shoe section is not as good as the marshalls in el cerrito. The handbag section is really good though and I really appreciate the jewelry and accessories which marshalls does not have. Love this place! More shopping will occur no doubt. read more

Yay! We have a TJ Maxx close to where I live! No more driving all the way out to Martinez or San Rafael. Heard from my sister yesterday TJ maxx was going to open Sunday (today). Hubby and I are usually early morning risers on the weekend so we said why the heck not go to the grand opening! We went and stood in line and received our TJ maxx bags. My focus was to just get a new yoga mat and get the heck out or there but then of course I get distracted by all the cloths and shoes. Once I decided it was time to go and pay for my yoga mat, there was a long a$$ line towards the back of the store. I AIN'T GOT TIME FOR THAT! We had errands to run in the morning so had to depart ways with my yoga mat. The place was a zoo, so many people.. but hey it's a grand opening. So far, I like the store, was able to find my sizes and the staff seem friendly. I just hope this TJ maxx is able to stay clean and organized. On a side note.. ULTA will be opening next door to TJ maxx! read more

I called and talked to Jordan who said this store has 3 managers Carmela, Jaimie and Aisha. I found out that Aisha is the General Manager. I want everyone in the East Bay to know the "Below Poor Customer Service" this store provides. My experience was with Carmela who is confrontational, rude and lacks of skills to be in a management position. I bought an item that had a small hole defect so I asked for a discount because of it and got 4 dollars off a $50 dollar item (they did not have any more of the same thing i wanted on the floor. So I got home and the item had another item missing so I went back to the store to do some more shopping and i mentioned to the teller my experience and she said to me: "If you bring the receipt i will give you an additional discount, comeback on Monday and she apologized to me" So I was happy that she heard my concern so I went back on Monday and showed the teller my receipt, she said let me just get the approval so she brought Carmela over to approve the transaction to my surprise she said she cannot give me another discount since she had given me $4.00 off before, she didn't want to listen that it was also a missing item, her tone of voice and attitude lacked politeness and customer service empathy so I said I came here because your employee said for me to come on Monday to which I was shocked to hear "there is no way you couldn't talk to her yesterday because she was off" with a feisty and disrespectful attitude and walked away and left me there. I feel very unwelcome at this store because of this person who is supposed to be a role model for employees. No good customer skills at all" Stay away form this place until they fix their leadership member" "Carmela does not have good intentions in helping this business make a good impact in our community and wants to treat us with disrespect and get away with it" I want to have regional manager call me to voice out my concern and my experience about this new store in my community. read more

I'm a regular TJMaxx shopper at Pleasant Hill and Clayton. First time I had been to this location and was pleasantly surprised. The store is clean and organized, and very spacious. I didn't see the clutter and mess I see at some of the others. I had every employee who walked past me ask if I needed assistance. I must say I was surprised with how friendly and helpful they all were given Xmas was just a few days ago and surely they're exhausted! The selection of merchandise seemed typical of other stores. I should add that I did arrive early so they weren't busy. The salesperson at the checkout counter was not nearly as friendly so that was disappointing to get a tad bit of grumpiness after everyone else was so pleasant. read more

Nice selection of clothing but there customer service is horrible. I visit this location quite frequently, but never had a bad experience prior. Maybe there's new management / employee's , but whatever it is , needs to be changed . First offense: about 3 female employees were by the jewelry section discussing an issue that they had with a customer while being on the floor. They were loud and didn't care. I find that to be very unprofessional to discuss issues about customers period. Second offense: went to purchase a blouse that had a stain on it , expecting some kind of accommodation and when my cashier went to ask another employee if I could be accommodated she ((Melissa ) rudely said no! " and the guy that I had chuckled and repeated what he was told. My issue is that Melissa didn't even try to explain , or be nice about her response. So at this point I'm offended at the. Customer service or the lack there of. So at that point I asked why , the. She told me. Still rude as ever! After I left I called to speak to a manager , who was very nice and professional who after a few minutes she said she would give me a discount which is appreciated.so I don't know if management is aware of there rude and unprofessional employees but if not , well... They will soon enough. Definitely wont be going out of my way to come to this location anymore . Customer service is everything!! read more

The store is small, the inventory poor and worst of all, the checkers care less than nothing if you're in line, needing help on the floor or have ACTUALLY requested help, told it had been requested and then NOTHING. Would rather go to the Fairfield store any day! read more
