I have to give it a four, because I buy stuff here and that is probably not going to change. They have a decent selection. However, although the clerk I had was super nice, I saw another clerk walking around the floor with his mask directly under his nose, so basically he is breathing on the outside of his mask and wherever any droplets go, towards people, into the air- wherever. I had no idea he worked there, until I saw him at the register. I let the lady behind me go in front of me because I was afraid of my inner whatever bad name people are saying these days about women. Then I had to go through the line again because I had left an item in my cart. The lady by the carts was also very nice... I decided to buy some caramel corn for later, and it was expired. I did have a funny feeling about it, but ignored it because I got called to the register. That is sort of gross. I am not sure that is what stores are suppose to do. You can't donate expired food to a food bank though. I threw out the receipt because it was only that and a skincare item. Plus every time I walk in there it cost me more than 4-5 dollars (the price of the popcorn. I will still come here, but I am not going near the guy with the nose mask or buying any gourmet food without checking it first. Maybe I will skip that too. I love tjmaxx and homegoods, but this is not the best location. It's messy and dirty, especially in the holiday and sale areas. Plus, the employees aren't the friendliest and don't want to help you. To me, it's always really hard to find anything good here. I only come by because I want to see if they have any nice Chicago sports stuff or cute dog clothes/toys. Honestly, I was disappointed by how small this location was. Not a huge selection, although it is nice that it's connected to a HomeGoods. Parking is super easy, which is a plus, but I'd much rather go to the Schaumburg location. The selection here just isn't as good. read more

Prices are no longer the decent value to draw me into this new stash of Goodwill chaos. I used to build up anticipation with TJ, always had some fun surprise for me right when I had a hope of finding that random thing. But the past couple months it's become a weird expensive Amazon search. A ton of overwhelming brands I've never heard of, little quality or relevant options, and prices pretending to be lower but only low compared to the hilarious manufacturers recommended gouging. I've been able to repeatedly find the same thing on eBay cheaper as I wonder around TJ. Good location, great prices...but terrible customer service. I've come to this location many times and I've had zero issues. However, my last visit was not ideal. I went to the checkout and was ready to purchase my items. I said hello to the cashier, Milka, and she questioned how I knew her name. I simply responded that her name tag was visible. She then started to investigate my background asking me where I live and where I was born. I responded accordingly and she did not like my answers. Milka mumbled under her breath "you wanna be smart?" and continued to smash my products into the bag. What made this incident even more interesting is that she handed me my items in a ripped plastic bag. I asked her kindly to separate the items since those items couldn't fit in that bag. She proceeded to shove all the items in a new bag and had a nasty attitude throughout the transaction. I understand people have a bad day, but you must remain professional in any workforce. Literally went to buy a chair for my daughter and the chaser said it was the wrong tag. Instead of showing me a comparable price after I said all the kids chairs are on sale in your aisle, and I didn't put this tag on there, what I thought would be a $19.99 chair was going to be $80. TJ Maxx is one of the biggest combo store I have ever seen. They have so many branded shops like Gucci, Michael Kors, and others. They have so lot of great deals here, promos, discounts, and even sale items. What a wonderful place with great and worthy items. Their employees are also amazing, all of them are so friendly, helpful, and professional. They can explain the specifications of their items clearly. They can answer all of your questions. And even suggest and offer to you the items that will be perfect to you. What a wonderful people. This TJ Maxx is well-organized, it has a beautiful decorations from inside to outside, and their place has a good ambiance. No wonder why lot of people are really amazed with their place, it is so elegant, bright, and very nice. I really love this TJ Maxx! As a Maxxinista, I have been to MANY Tjmaxx stores. I can honestly say this is the best one. They have so many racks but it isn't overwhelming. The racks are very well organized and the clothes are properly put on the hangers. The staff is extremely nice and let you shop and wonder without being bothered. The selection is amazing and so are the prices. I have to limit myself on how much I can go to this store. The only suggestion I would make is the isles are a little close together which makes it hard for two shoppers to shop at once. Happy shopping! read more

Awesome store, very well-managed, well-organized, and always well-stocked. This store had a much larger selection than other local store around. Really love doing shopping here than going to other stores, I can literally save a lot of my money here, purchasing and buying all the items I need everyday, and also this is the only store that has a caring and helpful employees. This is one of the best TJ Maxx / HomeGoods I have ever been to. It's fairly new and nicely laid out. As with everything in life, there is never one thing that does it all, and that applies here. For example, the Handbag and Jewelry sections are great, but Active Wear is lacking. Women's Clothing was also nice. Given the obscene amount of stuff we found in the aforementioned areas, we didn't dare roll through HomeGoods, but I peeked out of the corner of my eye while we were in line, and it looked really inviting (read: well-stocked with attractive pieces!). I was in last Wednesday to purchase a few items. I have been a loyal customer for many years. Usually go to a different location but was in the area so I stopped in. The young girl that was helping me check out was very nice. Everything was fine until her manger came out. She did not acknowledge me at all but she started reprimanding the employee because of low credit card sales. She asked her why there were no cards sold yesterday. The girl said it was slow and rainy. She replied no excuse. We need cards today. I felt this was so inappropriate in front of a customer. Maybe the manager should work on her customer service skills. Cashier looked embarrassed and I was angry. Please do coaching during employee meetings not in front of customers. read more

I always found these stores to be as compact as possible but this one seems to be more of that case, very tight spaces and a lot of waiting for people to pass when it's busy. This store is overwhelming, it's a combo Maxx/Homegoods. First thing I didn't like was they only have those massive carts instead of the double decker mini carts...you know what I'm talking about. There really is no men's section or if there is its labeled as "young men". Selection is just ok and a little disjointed, no good way to get through the Maxx side of the store, then the homegoods side is worse. It is SO CRAMPED and feels overwhelming, there are huge displays in all aisles and tight quarters by tight I mean if someone is in an aisle with their cart, you cannot physically enter that aisle with your cart. They were also doing stocking and so this probably made the situation much worse. I was underwhelmed with the selection but overwhelmed by the tight spaces/clutter. read more

On October 14th, I visited TJ Maxx on Dundee road in Palatine, IL as I always do. I have recently moved to Chicago, but up until this point this was by far the cleanest TJ's and had the most variety. Earlier in January of 2017 I purchased a gold framed designer mirror but had to leave it at the store because it would not fit in my car. I was given a white slip for a later pickup by a customer service associate, and told that I could come and pick it up whenever I'd like. However a few weeks down the line I was given a courtesy call and asked if I would still like the mirror and I told them I would not be able to come get it. The associate in turn told me that I could use the white slip in place of a gift card and come back whenever I had the time- great! So on October 16th after an hour of shopping in TJ Maxx, and an extremely long wait in line I was finally at the front and met by a very pleasant cashier/store manager. When I presented the white slip to her she said it wouldn't be a problem for me to purchase my items as the physical gift card should be in the back. Lisa, the manager over Home Goods spent about 15 minutes looking in the back of the store and said they couldn't find a gift card, and that it was "strange" that we were given a white slip instead of a pink one, and that she could find no record of us ever having been in the store, or any record of any gift card waiting for my pickup. The way she phrased her sentences led me to call her out on if she thought we were trying to STEAL what we were trying to purchase. She denied it of course however it didn't take away from the fact that I felt like she was leading on to this. She stated that there was nothing she could do, no apologies, no sincerity for me having to wait as long as I did- but she could send a gift card through the mail. FINE. She took our address down and we should receive it, in her words, in 3-5 business days. 3-5 business days passed and she called me and asked if she could AGAIN get my name, and address to resend the gift card. It is now November 2nd, and I have yet to receive a gift card. So I take the "pleasure" of calling the store to find out where my gift card is, and low and behold it was just sent out Monday October 30th. No one bothered to call to inform me, and Lisa stated that she believed it was sent out on Monday- so no certainty. Again no apologies offered, and didn't even say bye when she hung the phone up like I'm the one bothering her for inquiring about MY gift card. Needless to say, I WILL NEVER EVER step foot back into this location again, and I will make sure to tell all of my family and friends not to either. I will make sure that Yelp gets a review along with Google, and my blog. This is ridiculous, and Lisa's customer service is HORRENDOUS. read more

I have been going to this TJ Maxx for about 20 years. Today i wanted to purchase a pair of boots but they were slightly defected. I asked for a small discount and explained to the manager I was a long time customer, etc. Instead of giving me a small percent off the boots which I will now have to repair, she told me ot sign up for the rewards credit card and I would get 10% off.
